Chapter 1009: Chapter 1001: First Encounter with Laura (1)
Over there, May Sloane continued flipping through the book, making notes, and urged, "Go on, say something."
"Do you remember the last time at the Thorne family when I asked you to help me deliver clothes?"
May’s memory had always been good; she nodded, "Of course I remember, what’s up? Don’t want the clothes anymore, thinking of sending them back?"
"No, did you tell anyone else about it?"
May answered without hesitation, "Yes, I did."
Upon hearing this, Tiana Thorne’s heart suddenly raced. She looked at Aiden Shaw and exchanged a glance with him.
Afterwards, the expression in Aiden Shaw’s eyes became increasingly cold as he stared intently at his phone.
"Who did you tell?"
May didn’t think it was such an important issue and said, "Finn Pierce, Rosalyn Rooney, and an assistant of Joel Jones."
Three people.
"Can you recount the situation again?"
Hearing her serious tone, May gradually realized something was amiss. She stopped her work, frowned, and asked, "Tiana, what’s going on? Is there something wrong with those clothes?"
"Just tell me first."
May recalled, "You called me while I was in a meeting. After I stepped out, Finn picked me up, then I chatted with Rosalyn, and Joel Jones’ assistant came to fetch him."
"Then, you asked me to prepare new clothes for you, saying you no longer wanted to wear any from the wardrobe. After hanging up, Finn asked what was up, and I told him truthfully."
Upon hearing this, Tiana Thorne fell into thought again.
If that’s the case, it still wouldn’t be enough for others to know, as she wouldn’t touch the wardrobe.
Because, in the thinking of a normal person, if you don’t want to wear clothes anymore, you’d throw them out, and naturally, put the new ones into the wardrobe.
In that case, why would that woman take such a big risk?
"Anything else?"
"That’s it."
Tiana felt there was no key point and asked again carefully: "Did you tell anyone else that I only keep my clothes in the bathroom and rarely use the wardrobe?"
"Well... Finn knows, but I don’t think I was bored enough to tell others."
Upon hearing this, Tiana’s mood suddenly turned very heavy. If that’s the case, then only Finn knows.
Not hearing her voice, May was a bit puzzled and called out, "Tiana, what’s really going on?"
"Nothing much. You carry on with your work; I’ll tell you when you get back."
"Alright then."
After hanging up the phone, Tiana said, "It seems like we got nothing."
"The clue stops here with May."
Upon hearing this, Tiana frowned: "I said it’s not her. Besides, these past few days, she’s been with our Fourteenth Brother the whole time and has no chance to come to the Thorne family and frame me."
"I’m not saying there’s an issue with her."
Upon hearing this, Tiana raised an eyebrow slightly: "Oh? Do you have another idea, Four Brother?"
"Finn wouldn’t talk about your private matters to outsiders either."
Tiana nodded, "I know."
In Aiden Shaw’s onyx eyes, a wise light flickered as his thumb rubbed the jade ring, his gaze unfathomable, "It may not be related to the clue from May."
"What do you mean...?"
Aiden continued, "It’s someone from the Thorne family, a servant, or it might be Georgia Thorne."
Upon hearing this, Tiana’s heart skipped a beat, her breathing tightened, realizing she might have strayed off track.
May knew about this detail, and so did Finn. Neither of them could betray her.
Finn isn’t the type who enjoys gossip either.
So, the problem still lies with the Thorne family. Although, when the incident occurred, she woke up to see the young servant and Georgia Thorne at home.
They can be ruled out as perpetrators, but it’s not entirely impossible that they didn’t hire someone to commit the act or inform the culprit, or maybe one of them orchestrated it all.
As she thought of this, Georgia Thorne’s face surfaced in her mind.
Always gentle, calm, even exhibiting her own pride.
When Tiana saw her return to the Thorne family that day, she showed an expression of astonishment.
Georgia knew ’she’ had injured Brother Two, so seeing her back without being at the hospital with him was unexpected. She didn’t anticipate the Ford family allowing her back after such a big mistake, hence the astonishment.
But there’s another possibility; Georgia might be the mastermind behind it all. Seeing Tiana, she might have felt guilty and surprised.
However, after her astonished inquiry, she took out her phone to show her surveillance footage, suggesting the former possibility.
Yet, it doesn’t rule out the latter.
Aiden added, "I’ll have someone closely monitor Georgia Thorne’s actions."
If it turns out to be her, he wouldn’t let it slide easily.
Tiana nodded, "Alright, for now, that’s all we can do, without making any major moves to avoid alerting the enemy."
"Alright."
After that, Tiana rubbed her eyes and asked, "Four Bro, with my current look, do I seem pitiful enough?"
If she runs into Georgia Thorne, seeing her red eyes, she would not think that Tiana had already investigated and discovered the person harming Brother Two wasn’t her.
Regardless of whether the mastermind is Georgia Thorne, she needs to be cautious and not let her guard down.
Watching her blink her red eyes like a feather brushing over her heart, Aiden lifted his hand and gently tapped her nose: "Poor thing."
Though it’s a descriptive phrase, it surprisingly seemed to carry a tinge of affection in his tone to Tiana.
The tension in her heart began to ease slightly at that moment.
She believed that bad people would inevitably face consequences.
Tiana said, "Let’s test the DNA later."
"Yes, I’ll talk to a friend at the police station about filing a report. He’ll receive the hair, although it’s only one strand, appearing broken in the middle. The DNA test might not be successful."
Tiana understood, "It’s fine."
"Let’s go."
After going downstairs, they indeed saw Georgia Thorne, who had just returned home.
She was sitting on the sofa, peeling fruit.
She seemed to be lost in thought and didn’t notice Tiana and Aiden had arrived.
Tiana thought of the left-handed woman in the surveillance footage.
Narrowing her eyes slightly, intending to pay special attention, her reasoning so far was just conjecture. What if the culprit left the wardrobe early in another way, took a bath, then appeared in front of her?
Though it seems unlikely, she wouldn’t miss any details she suspected.
If Georgia were left-handed...
That would prove Georgia was the woman disguised as her.
With that thought, she quietly approached her side, her pretty foxy eyes full of scrutiny, unblinking.
However, she saw Georgia smoothly using her right hand to peel an apple; she wasn’t left-handed.
It wasn’t until Georgia finished peeling that she noticed Tiana, "Tiana, when did you get here?"
Her gaze turned to Aiden Shaw.
