Chapter 1006: Chapter 998: Discovering the Flaw 2
Her voice shifted subtly, going from calm to icy: "Stand up a second, I’ll play it."
The security guard, Old Man Sanborn, nodded. "Yes, ma’am."
Then he rose from the chair.
After that, Tiana sat down, moved the mouse, dragged the timeline back five seconds, and clicked play again.
A tiny movement, something you’d almost miss if you weren’t looking for it, became crystal clear to her eyes.
She grew excited and hurriedly turned her head. "Aiden, did you catch that?"
Aiden Shaw had already noticed when she rewound it. His deep voice carried an endless chill. "That woman is left-handed."
Tiana pointed at the screen, nodding, then added, "She stabbed my second brother with her right hand, but when she closed in, her left hand moved. The angle isn’t perfectly clear, but I’m certain it was the left hand that drove the knife in that deep."
Aiden’s hands had clenched into fists, veins bulging on the backs of them. "She was afraid of being found out, so she used her right hand first to create a false impression."
But his Sixteen isn’t left-handed, which fully proves she wasn’t the one who stabbed Second Brother.
Tiana nodded, watching the video of Second Brother getting hurt over and over. For her, it was a kind of torture.
Even though she’d found a piece of evidence that could clear her name, it didn’t bring her any joy.
Because her wonderful second brother was already injured.
And the real culprit was still at large, letting her take the blame.
Thinking of all the self-reproach and guilt she’d felt, a thick, burning anger rose in her chest.
She was determined to find that woman and make her understand what kind of punishment you deserved for crossing her.
Tiana said, "As long as it’s not the same person, there’ll be a flaw somewhere. This video has to be preserved—it’s a perfect piece of evidence."
"Okay."
At the same time, Aiden Shaw sent this news to Maxim Ford via WeChat.
Tiana suddenly said, "Right!"
"Hm?"
Tiana said, "The Thorne family’s video must have flaws too."
As she spoke, she took out her phone. She had already saved that segment of video onto it earlier.
Sure enough, her train of thought was dead on.
In the video, the woman who looked exactly like her was in the living room peeling an apple. She was using her right hand, but several times it wasn’t smooth, so she switched to her left hand, then finally went back to her right.
Because the movements were so subtle, everyone had been focused on her figure and face before, completely overlooking such crucial details.
She put the phone down, and her usually coy eyes were suddenly rimmed with frost. "Aiden, whoever is impersonating me must be very familiar with the old grudges from twenty years ago—or, at the very least, knows me."
Off to the side, Old Man Sanborn finally understood and felt a chill down his spine.
He drew a deep breath. "So this woman has probably been hiding in Miss Tiana’s room at the Thorne estate all along, waiting for her to fall asleep before moving."
Tiana nodded. "Exactly. I’ll go back and check again, see if she left any evidence behind. The more she does, the more mistakes she’ll make."
Old Man Sanborn added, "Then I’ll look through the footage again from other angles to see if any cameras caught her."
"Good. And don’t tell anyone else about this, in case we tip her off."
Old Man Sanborn nodded. "Yes, Miss, you can rest assured."
Tiana walked out of the monitoring room. Just as she was about to head outside, Aiden Shaw caught her slender wrist. "Poppy."
This time, he’d called her by her nickname.
