[The World Update Era’s First Month has now ended!]

[With the successful completion of the First Month: Zombie Apocalypse, the Monthly Apocalypse World Update Theme for the Second Month will be drawn later.]

[For now, there shall be a World Update reward settlement!]

[The Top Survivors Ranking and Perfection Ranking shall now be released. It will be updated at the end of each Monthly Apocalypse and will grant rewards for those survivors reaching certain ranks or completing certain milestones.]

[While there will be rewards, there will also be punishments!]

[Among the ten billion population of Terra, eight billion had died. Those who had been turned into zombies but had recovered or retained their consciousness will still be considered alive.]

The World Will paused for a while before continuing its global announcements.

During its global announcements, Zayne and Jade noticed that the world had turned gray, as if someone had paused the operation of the world.

Of course, only the operation of the world had been stopped; even the weakest Terran’s time wasn’t stopped.

In other words, after the completion of the Monthly Apocalypse, the world’s time would be stopped, and every Terran would be given time to check the announcements and see their rewards.

However, while the ranking has been released, no one’s name has been added yet. Presumably, it was due to World Will deciding to settle the punishments first before the rewards.

Sure enough, Zayne’s speculations had been proven as the World Will continued its global announcements.

[It should be known that after the World Update, everyone who has died will be resurrected. Every Terran will be given an identity depending on the Monthly Apocalypse World Update Theme, and it will be affected by how much you’ve achieved in the previous Monthly Apocalypse World Update.]

[Although every survivor on Terra will be resurrected and will be alive in the succeeding Monthly Apocalypse World Updates, the punishments imposed shall make everyone think twice about treating the apocalypse as a joke.]

[Here are the following punishments:]

[1. Those who had died in the first week of the Monthly Apocalypse will only retain their memories during the first day of the Zombie Apocalypse and before it. All power and items they’ve acquired will be confiscated.]

[2. Those who had died in the second week of the Monthly Apocalypse will only retain their memories during the first week of the Zombie Apocalypse and before it. All power and items they’ve acquired will be confiscated.]

[3. Those who had died in the third week of the Monthly Apocalypse will only retain their memories during the second week of the Zombie Apocalypse and before it. All power and items they’ve acquired will be confiscated.]

[4. Those who had died in the fourth week of the Monthly Apocalypse will retain all their memories before their death. However, while all items they’ve owned will be kept, the power they’ve received will experience a reduction of two major power ranks.]

[For example, an Evolver Overlord Peak Stage survivor who has experienced the Fourth Punishment will receive a downgrade of power rank, only retaining Evolver King Peak Stage in the next Monthly Apocalypse World Update.]

[5. Those who had died in the last days of the Monthly Apocalypse will retain all their memories before their death. However, while all items they’ve owned will be kept, the power they’ve received will experience a reduction of one major power rank.]

Reading that list of punishments, Jade couldn’t help but comment, "This Monthly Apocalypse World Update is more lenient than I expected."

"Although memories won’t be fully retained, the fact that those who died will be resurrected after the world update is already a huge benefit. After all, everyone didn’t expect that there’d be such a benefit after the world update."

Zayne nodded, "That’s true. Even I didn’t expect that the World Will would be this magnanimous, going as far as reviving those who had died. But if you think about it, it’s by design."

"Those who have survived and become stronger in previous world updates will keep on becoming stronger, perfecting the flaws they have as an individual. But for those who kept dying, they’d lose the advantage as more monthly apocalypse world update themes have been updated."

"In fact, unless they cling to someone powerful, they’ll inevitably become muddled people who only have the memories of the first day of each Monthly Apocalypse World Update."

"So, those who are flawed will remain flawed, unless they were lucky enough to turn things around. On the other hand, those who were competent will eventually attain perfection."

Zayne added, "The resurrection mechanic had actually prevented a situation where everyone on Terra had died, and no one could attain perfection."

"At most, the problem will likely be the energy cost for maintaining this resurrection and world update mechanism, but I presume that the followers of The One had that figured out."

"Anyway, the resurrection mechanic ensured that at least one person will eventually attain perfection due to the continuous cycle of experiencing the apocalypse and then being resurrected after dying."

Zayne had to admit, the World Update was way better than he had expected.

Even without his Doomsday Life Simulator System, as long as he had a decent SSS-rank innate talent, it was not impossible for him to attain perfection in the Monthly Apocalypse World Update Era.

In other words, aside from him, other survivors from Terra had a decent chance of attaining perfection as well. Eventually, there’d be a statistical anomaly who’d attain perfection even without any cheats like Zayne had.

After all, Terrans were given a near-infinite chance of attaining perfection. It was inevitable for at least one of them to achieve it.

Due to this, even Zayne couldn’t help speculate whether attaining perfection was the end, or if it was merely the beginning.

’I’m leaning toward it being just the beginning, a minimum requirement for the followers of The One, or The One himself, to treat such perfect Terrans seriously. Otherwise, those who hadn’t achieved perfection might merely be just ants who weren’t worth noting.’
