Undoubtedly, Alan has only been recently bitten by a zombie. Due to this, Henry, Jacob, and Jackie didn’t want to abandon him, especially when there’s still a way to cure him.

They’ve discovered the first-generation Zombie Virus Cure due to having used it recently on Jacob. After all, even with powerful innate talents, it didn’t change the fact that most of them were still at the level of normal humans and weren’t extraordinarily powerful.

With their team having already engaged and killed more than a hundred zombies, it was inevitable there would be casualties, especially since hours ago they were merely college students, not battle-hardened veterans.

Not all survivors were like them, who had immediately wanted to accumulate combat experience and resources by fighting these zombies.

Although it allowed them to be ahead of those survivors who could only cower in fear in their houses, it did show that it’s not without its disadvantages, such as the inevitability of being injured by the zombies.

They’ve discovered that the zombie virus was quite potent. Being bitten wasn’t necessary for the transmission of the zombie virus. Just being scratched alone by a zombie or having contact with zombie flesh on an open wound was more than enough to get infected.

To deal with this, Henry had wanted to use his innate talent to get them a full set of military tactical gear, but getting military support points by doing nothing was far fewer than killing zombies, which led to their current predicament.

"I’ve been proven to have the highest luck in our team, so let me open the four wooden chests."

Hearing Henry volunteer to open the four wooden chests, Alan and the others didn’t refuse.

Knowing that there were survivors nearby who were hiding within their residences and might want to take advantage of their exhaustion to snatch the wooden chests, Jacob and the others remained vigilant and protected Henry while he was opening the four wooden chests.

When Henry opened all four wooden chests, he acquired various resources that were even rare, like one Elite Zombie Crystal. However, none of them had figured out how to use zombie crystals yet, so they dared not experiment with them casually.

After opening all four of these wooden chests, Henry’s expression turned into a frown as he spoke, "I still haven’t acquired a first-generation zombie virus cure."

When they heard Henry’s words, Jacob couldn’t help but frown while Alan’s expression showed fake indifference.

Knowing that the mood of their team had sunk, Jackie suggested, "Two streets away from here, I’ve detected that there’s a small group of zombies. We can eliminate them and try to get another wooden chest in hopes of a zombie virus cure."

"Alan has been using his innate talent to suppress the zombie virus so he can still hold on until we find a zombie virus cure."

Hearing Jackie’s suggestion, Henry and the others knew that they had no choice but to take it one step at a time.

Zombie virus cures were rare to acquire in a wooden chest, and none of them had innate talents that could boost the drop rates of treasure chests.

Knowing this, Jacob and the others could only compensate for the low drop rate by sheer quantity.

Just as they were about to leave this street, Zayne, who had been observing them secretly, finally showed up.

He had planned to reveal himself if Henry and the others couldn’t handle the zombies. But as he had expected, their dorm truly had no useless people. He didn’t even have to intervene to save them since their team was quite competent despite being newly formed.

Both Henry and Alan had awakened SSS-rank innate talents while Jacob and Jackie awakened useful mid-ranking innate talents.

Especially Jackie’s A-rank Radar innate talent. For Henry and the others who lacked reconnaissance skills, Jackie’s Radar innate talent allowed them to minimize casualties by knowing the locations of potential enemies before encountering them.

A-rank only seemed weak to Zayne due to his encounters with SSS-rank innate talents many times in the Terran Train Conductor Era. However, that was due to the huge population base of the Terran Train Conductors, making Terran Train Conductors with SSS-rank innate talents a statistical inevitability.

For the average Terran, having a useful B-rank innate talent was good enough, while those who were above average would awaken A-rank innate talents. Only those who were truly exceptional would awaken S-rank innate talents and above.

Appearing in front of Henry and the others out of nowhere, Zayne spoke up, "Henry, you still owe me fifty bucks."

Much to Zayne’s surprise, Henry took out a soundless handgun that was holstered at his waist and tossed it to Zayne, speaking, "I haven’t forgotten; here’s my payment."

"I created this using my innate talent. Where were you? Alan and I have been looking for you so that the three of us can find that damn playboy."

Catching the soundless handgun that Henry had tossed to him, Zayne realized that Henry and Alan had the same idea as him to form a team together.

Unfortunately, that idea of his was formulated only if he had awakened an SSS-rank innate talent. Instead, what he awakened was a Doomsday Life Simulator System, and it was inevitable for him to surpass Henry and the others and make teaming up with them no longer relevant.

In fact, if he had awakened another system that didn’t have such fast growth as the Doomsday Life Simulator System, he would still have formed a team with Henry and the others.

However, a life simulator-type of system was something that made those in the real world unable to catch up to him.

After all, Henry and the others only experienced a few hours since the Zombie Apocalypse World Update Theme started, while he and Jade had experienced more than a hundred years within the Second Doomsday Life Simulation.

The gap between people was just that large. Even though Alan and Henry were those with high potential due to awakening SSS-rank innate talents, they still couldn’t catch up to Zayne, who had awakened a life simulator system.
