Doomsday Life Simulator System In A Zombie Apocalypse World Update Era
Chapter 377: What About The People Inside Those Worlds? What About Them? Are They Real?
Zayne nodded, "My innate talent allows me to perform various operations involving parallel worlds. However, the specific operations I can perform aren’t something I can freely control."
"Some operations can only be performed under specific conditions, while others require me to pay a certain price."
"As for the operation that allowed us to escape the universe, it was something I could only use after meeting certain conditions."
Jade remained silent for a moment as she processed his words.
"Then the world we experienced was a parallel world?"
"Most likely."
Zayne didn’t answer with absolute certainty.
"From what I’ve experienced, the world we entered was extremely similar to our own universe, but there were also many differences."
"In some of those worlds, the people we know might exist, while in others, they might not."
Jade’s expression became thoughtful.
"So that’s why I was there."
Zayne looked at her.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean the other me."
Jade raised her jade-green eyes and looked directly at him.
"The Jade who spent a hundred years with you."
Zayne remained silent.
Jade continued, "If that world was truly a parallel world, then it would make sense for another version of me to exist there."
"However, I’m curious about something."
"What is it?"
"If your innate talent only allows you to operate on parallel worlds, then how did I return here with the memories and power I obtained there?"
Hearing this question, Zayne inwardly praised Jade’s intelligence.
As expected of a Human Progenitor with the X-rank Superintelligent Brain.
She had immediately focused on the most important part.
Zayne had already prepared an explanation for this.
"It’s one of the operations."
"An operation that allows me to transfer certain things from a parallel world into the main world."
"Certain things?"
"Yes."
Zayne nodded, "Memories, experiences, power, abilities, items, and even living beings."
Jade’s eyes narrowed slightly.
"Even living beings?"
"That’s right."
"If I encounter someone in a parallel world who doesn’t exist in our world, I can potentially bring them here."
"For example, Scarlet and the others are living beings who existed in that universe but not in the main world Terra."
Jade fell into silence.
This explanation also answered one of the questions that had been bothering her.
The Jade in that parallel world had been real.
She had experienced a hundred years of life with Zayne, possessed her own memories and cultivation, and had eventually died.
Yet, when she returned to this world, the memories and power she had obtained there were inherited by the Jade who already existed in this world.
It wasn’t simply resurrection.
It was more like the experiences of two parallel existences had been brought together. Yet, just like the time she was resurrected in the Train Conductor Trial Incident, it didn’t cause any problems regarding her sense of self.
"So that’s how it works."
Jade muttered.
Zayne nodded, "However, there are restrictions."
"I can’t simply bring anything from a parallel world whenever I want."
"The conditions vary depending on what I want to bring back, and there are also things that I can’t transfer at all."
"What determines whether something can be transferred?"
"I don’t know."
Zayne shook his head. "My innate talent doesn’t explain everything to me. I can only understand what I need to know when I attempt to use one of its operations."
"Sometimes, I can determine whether something is possible. Other times, I can only find out after trying."
Jade’s brows slightly furrowed.
"That sounds troublesome."
"It is."
Zayne smiled helplessly.
"But it’s also the reason why I rarely talk about this innate talent."
"Even I don’t completely understand it."
Jade thought for a while before asking, "Then Scarlet and others you’ve summoned into this world..."
"They were also brought back through the same innate talent."
"I see."
Jade nodded slowly, "So your innate talent is the reason why you were so confident about your escape plan."
"Partially."
Zayne answered honestly.
"The innate talent itself wasn’t enough to guarantee our escape."
"The opportunity had to be there first."
"Once the conditions were fulfilled, however, I was able to perform the necessary operation."
Jade leaned against his shoulder and remained silent for a moment.
Then, she suddenly smiled, "Darling."
"Hmm?"
"You really are hiding quite a terrifying innate talent."
Zayne chuckled.
"I warned you."
"Indeed."
Jade gently squeezed his hand.
"Parallel worlds, other lives, memories, power, items, and even living beings."
"An innate talent capable of doing all of that is far beyond anything I’ve heard of."
"That’s why I’m telling you that there are restrictions."
Zayne looked at her seriously.
"If there weren’t any restrictions, I wouldn’t have needed to spend so much effort finding a way to escape that universe."
Jade nodded.
That explanation made sense.
If Zayne could freely enter parallel worlds and bring back anything he wanted, then there would be no reason for him to fear the destruction of the universe.
He could simply enter another world and bring everyone there.
But that clearly wasn’t what happened.
His innate talent had restrictions.
The opportunity to escape had to be carefully planned. And only after the conditions were fulfilled could he use it.
Everything matched what she had experienced.
After all, at that time, Zayne had indeed requested the Zenith Train Crew to assist him in expanding his fame and influence before they all died.
If there weren’t any restrictions, Jade figured that Zayne wouldn’t have requested them to face the Divine rank Wild Gods and immediately escaped the universe.
Jade suddenly asked, "Can you choose which parallel world to enter?"
Zayne paused.
This was one of the questions he had expected.
"I can influence the destination to some extent, but I can’t freely choose any parallel world I want."
"Sometimes, the destination is determined by the innate talent itself."
"Sometimes, I can choose from several possibilities."
"However, I can’t simply search through countless parallel worlds and pick whichever one I want."
Jade nodded and asked, "What about the people inside those worlds?"
"What about them?"
"Are they real?"
