Chapter 521: Chapter 521: Jun Qingmeng Is Sulking

That meant she could earn over ten thousand a day just by riding his coattails.

Jiang Liu replied, "Everything seems fine for now. Besides, my first store is training a new batch of chefs. By the time the new locations are chosen and renovated, the timing should be perfect."

Ren Qingqing offered a sincere suggestion. "President Jiang, perhaps we should slow down? I know you want to expand quickly, but from a professional standpoint, a new store needs an observation period of at least a month. We should expand methodically and try to be a little more stable."

She could have just mindlessly followed Jiang Liu’s orders.

But Jun Xinghe had hired her to assist Jiang Liu, not to be a sycophant who simply did whatever she was told.

Ren Qingqing wanted to fulfill her role to the best of her ability.

After reading her message, Jiang Liu replied, "You don’t need to worry so much. Just do as I say. We don’t have any strong competitors in South City right now, so we can be aggressive."

He saw the situation clearly.

While there were a few fast-food style bun and stir-fry shops like his in South City, they were a disorganized rabble and not worth worrying about.

With such a large gap in the market, they should seize the opportunity to quickly capture it.

Ren Qingqing held her phone and gave a helpless, wry smile.

She glanced at the cleaning lady who was energetically mopping the floor.

She lowered her head and replied, "Alright, President Jiang. I hope you’re right."

Even after hearing Jiang Liu’s explanation...

Ren Qingqing still felt uneasy. In her view, this was reckless—a sign that he was getting carried away.

’He’s in too much of a hurry.’

Jiang Liu typed back, "Find the storefronts quickly. Start with two. Same as before, we’re buying them outright. We’re preparing for the long haul, so no renting."

Ren Qingqing hesitated for a moment before asking, "Should we intentionally open them next to Yang’s locations?"

Jiang Liu replied, "No. That business can’t amount to much now. It’s about to go bankrupt. Just prioritize locations with high foot traffic."

He had scrolled past several posts on his local Douyin feed today with hashtags like #YangsBuns... and so on.

They were all full of nauseatingly negative press.

Jiang Liu estimated that it wouldn’t be long before Yang Yixue went bankrupt.

Therefore, he was no longer paying this competitor any mind.

He would just let nature take its course.

Ren Qingqing felt a secret thrill of satisfaction. She had despised that woman from the very beginning.

"Understood, President Jiang. There’s one more thing. Yang Yixue has listed many of her stores for transfer on brokerage websites. I had a word with the site owner and had her listings moved to the very bottom."

Jiang Liu and Ren Qingqing chatted for a little longer. When he put his phone down and looked up, he found two pairs of sparkling eyes fixed on him.

Stunned, he asked,

"What’s wrong?"

"Daddy, I want more!"

"Honey, I want more, too."

"??" Jiang Liu said, "The moo shu pork takes too long. Wait a minute, how about I whip up some scrambled eggs with tomato for you?"

"Okay, go ahead, honey." "Yay! Tongtong loves eggs!"

Jiang Liu spent another ten yuan and bought a pound of Yueguang Rice.

This type of rice not only had a wonderful texture and appearance but was also rich in vitamins and minerals.

Forget ten yuan a pound—some people would pay ten thousand for it.

After all, the annual yield was so low that there wasn’t even enough for the imperial family in Japan.

To save time, Jiang Liu decided to just make a quick rice porridge, which would only take about ten minutes.

Boosted by the Premium Seasonings, the scrambled eggs with tomato were fragrant, tangy, and delicious.

The lightly-browned, amber-colored eggs absorbed a layer of the red tomato juices.

Each bite was smooth, tender, and tangy.

After dinner, the three of them went home and took their showers.

Jun Qingmeng and Tongtong snuggled up to Jiang Liu on his left and right as they watched TV.

Just then, her phone rang.

Dressed in her pajamas, Jun Qingmeng lazily rested her long, fair legs on Jiang Liu’s lap. She leaned over, picked up her phone, and glanced at the screen.

It was a photo sent by a female subordinate from her old company.

The photo showed an exceptionally elegant woman wiping Jiang Liu’s mouth.

Jun Qingmeng frowned.

She didn’t want to believe it, but she couldn’t stop a pang of anger and sadness from rising in her heart.

’It felt like her most cherished possession was being held in someone else’s arms.’

Jun Qingmeng’s beautiful eyes studied Jiang Liu, who was blissfully watching TV with their daughter.

She desperately wanted to scream at Jiang Liu, but her years of refined upbringing wouldn’t allow it.

Jiang Liu noticed Jun Qingmeng’s odd stare. He paused, then asked, "What’s wrong? Is something the matter?"

"Nothing. I want to go home tonight. I don’t want to sleep here," Jun Qingmeng said, unable to stop herself from speaking out of anger, her tone laced with grievance.

She pulled her legs back, her rosy lips pressed into a thin line.

"???" Jiang Liu was completely baffled.

He wasn’t an idiot; he could tell from her tone that something was wrong.

Jiang Liu frowned. "Give me your phone. Let me see."

"Mm..." Jun Qingmeng hesitated. She wanted to refuse, but she obediently handed her phone to Jiang Liu anyway.

A part of her didn’t want him to know why she was angry, yet another part of her desperately wanted him to know.

Jiang Liu found the most recent chat and opened it.

His expression immediately darkened.

’Who the hell took this picture? A damn spy?’

Beside him, Jun Qingmeng’s lip was already trembling in a pronounced pout.

She wanted to act cold and indifferent, but she just couldn’t hold it in!

"Who is she?!"

Jun Qingmeng’s voice was already cracking as she asked, her eyes turning red.

"Don’t cry, Mommy." Jiang Tongtong, who was half-asleep, saw her mother crying and quickly raised her little hand to wipe away her tears.

Jiang Liu quickly gathered his thoughts and gave a concise explanation.

"She’s the head of a construction crew. Don’t misunderstand. I didn’t ask her to wipe my mouth; she did it suddenly. It caught me off guard."

"Mm."

Jun Qingmeng nodded.

She didn’t say anything else, just sat there sulking.

She believed Jiang Liu, but seeing a photo like that still felt like having a piece of her heart torn out.

It was so painful she could hardly breathe.

"Hey, don’t be sad." Jiang Liu put an arm around Jun Qingmeng’s delicate shoulders, pulling her into his embrace.

Jun Qingmeng resisted for a second before obediently resting her head against his chest.

She loved Jiang Liu too much; she was afraid of losing him by throwing a tantrum.

"Don’t be angry anymore~"

’What is all this nonsense... ’ Jiang Liu explained with an innocent expression, "She’s just a customer. You know the renovation crew next door? She’s the one who found them for me. She came to the store, so I made her a meal to thank her. As for this photo, whoever took it definitely had ulterior motives."

"It’s not like I wanted her to wipe my mouth. It’s like when female customers come into the shop and call me their boyfriend—it’s not like I can just shut them up, right?"

"Mm..." After hearing Jiang Liu’s explanation, Jun Qingmeng’s mood began to lift.

She hadn’t truly believed Jiang Liu would cheat on her; it was just a raw, uncomfortable feeling deep down.

"How about a kiss?" Jiang Liu asked shamelessly, lowering his head. The delicate fragrance from his girlfriend’s body made his mouth go dry.

Jun Qingmeng didn’t say a word, simply tilting her head up and closing her eyes.

Her lips were fragrant and soft.

She parted her lips.

They kissed for several minutes.

Jun Qingmeng’s face was flushed a deep crimson, like a ripe apple, making her look utterly adorable.

"Alright, I forgive you. Just be more careful next time." She buried her head in his chest, slightly embarrassed.

Her small hand clutched at his pajamas.

"You’re so beautiful, honey. I love you so much."

"I love you, too," Jun Qingmeng responded, her voice as faint as a mosquito’s buzz, muffled against his chest.
