Chapter 498: Chapter 397: You Should Call Me Sister Wang

He had to learn the techniques for these dishes. Then he could really go out and flex.

The best place would be a state banquet. As he saw it, the Lu cuisine dishes Jiang Liu made would outshine all the rest, even on a state banquet menu.

After all, he was the number one figure in Huaxia’s Lu cuisine, his skills considered even higher than the state banquet standard~

Jiang Liu’s dishes were even better than his own, so naturally, they would wipe the floor with the state banquet menu!

Lei Mingyue’s heart was filled with anticipation.

"Such a good disciple, such a good disciple!"

At 8:10 in the morning, the warm golden sunlight fell perfectly on the sign for Jiang Liu’s "World’s Second Best Restaurant."

"Are the buns all gone?"

"All gone."

"Is there any juice left, Boss Jiang?" a wealthy man from Jing City asked with a tense expression.

"Juice... let me see. There’s one bottle of watermelon juice left. Want it?"

"Yes!"

The wealthy man quickly paid, then left, happily clutching the juice. The trip wasn’t a waste after all!

Jiang Liu checked his phone. Wang Han said she would come by later to inspect the progress.

The last group of customers inside were still putting on a zealous "performance."

They were scrubbing vigorously at the tables.

The elderly folks from the neighborhood were much more casual. After clearing their tables, they’d snag a serving of chili oil and beat a hasty retreat.

"We’re heading out, Boss Jiang! Will you have Four-Joy Meatballs for lunch? I love your fragrant meatballs, they go so well with rice!"

"I think the Moo Shu Pork and the Boiled Fish are better, especially the Boiled Fish. It’s so numbingly spicy! Isn’t that better than Four-Joy Meatballs?"

"I like the Boiled Fish too. Today’s Scallion-Braised Sea Cucumber was top-notch as well, but I didn’t get to eat any. I just licked a plate. Such a shame."

The last group of customers had clearly missed out on this morning’s special.

Jiang Liu smiled and said, "If you like them, I’ll put them on rotation in the future, so everyone can get a chance to eat their favorites."

The customers were pleasantly surprised and quickly replied.

"No, no, Brother Jiang, just do whatever you want! Anyway, even if you served a rock, I’d have to suck on it a couple of times."

?? Jiang Liu couldn’t help but laugh.

"Whatever Xiao Jiang makes is delicious. Anyway, an old man like me just treats this place as my cafeteria. If I can get a spot, I eat. If not, I just heat up some leftovers from last time and make do."

"We’re off, Boss Jiang! You decide what to make. We’ll eat whatever you cook. We trust you. I’ve never seen you make a single bad dish."

The regular customers left one after another.

The "out-of-towners" were still diligently cleaning.

Jiang Liu said helplessly, "Alright everyone, that’s enough. If you keep wiping those tables, the varnish will come off."

"Ah, hahaha, I’m just a bit obsessive. Well, I’m leaving now. I’ll be back!"

"Goodbye, Boss Jiang! Are you interested in opening a shop in Shanghai? I’ll invest in you."

"No thanks. Shanghai is too far. I don’t have any plans for that at the moment."

"What a shame."

After seeing the customers off, Jiang Liu quickly washed the insulated barrels and steamers.

「8:30 a.m.」

A black Mercedes commercial van parked across the street.

Wang Han got out. She was wearing a white shirt that looked ready to burst, gray jeans, and was holding a stack of documents.

Dangling from her delicate white earlobes, a pair of brilliant green jade earrings added a touch of class.

Wang Han strode into the shop. Jiang Liu was placing juice bottles into the sterilizer cabinet.

"Jiang Liu, are you done with your work? Want your big sister to mop the floor for you?"

Jiang Liu looked up and smiled. "Better not, Sister Wang. It wouldn’t do to tire out a big boss like you."

"You should call me Sister Wang," Wang Han corrected him chidingly.

"Oh."

Jiang Liu wasn’t falling for her act.

’Trying to flirt with me? Not a chance.’

"Can you treat me to a meal?" Wang Han asked, brushing her hair back as she sat down at a table.

"Sure. What do you want to eat? As long as I know how to make it, I’ll make it for you."

"Oh, really? Well, forget it. Your big sister doesn’t want to trouble you. Just make me another serving of the Scallion-Braised Sea Cucumber you made today."

"Again? Oh, right. I forgot Huang Yunfeng came today."

"Mhm. His efficiency has been getting worse and worse lately. I just gave him a good scolding."

Wang Han said with a grin.

"You can’t really blame Brother Huang," Jiang Liu said, handing her a glass of juice. "Business has been good lately, so it’s not easy for him to get anything at all."

"Hmm, since you’re pleading his case, I’ll do you a favor."

Wang Han blinked.

Jiang Liu’s brow twitched. ’Good grief, this was a setup.’

’Whatever,’ he thought, ’I’m not going to bicker with this woman. My own wife is much more fun. She’s easy to tease, doesn’t get mad, and just whimpers cutely at me.’

"Sit tight. I’ll get you something to eat,"

Jiang Liu said, annoyed.

「A short while later.」

He placed two servings of Scallion-Braised Sea Cucumber and some rice on the table.

"Seeing the great Big Boss Jiang serve me food himself, I feel so flattered."

Wang Han said, putting on a dramatic, diva-like air.

"Is that right?"

"I remember a month ago, you were just a little guy who needed my help to buy an air conditioner. Now you’ve grown so big."

Wang Han even made a gesture with her hands to indicate a length.

Jiang Liu was starting to lose his composure.

He simply lowered his head and started shoveling down his food.

’This woman is bad news,’ he thought. ’She’s not pure-hearted like my wife at home.’

Wang Han chuckled, then lowered her head and took a few bites of the sea cucumber.

"Not bad. This is better than any I’ve ever had. The texture is superb, the sauce is perfectly balanced, and the sea cucumbers themselves are big and plump. Excellent."

"Mmm..."

Jiang Liu changed the subject. "The renovations next door should be finished the day after tomorrow, right?"

"Yes, no problem. I heard you started a company?"

Wang Han asked, lifting her slender, almond-shaped eyes.

"Mhm, it’s also in the food service industry. The focus is on being affordable, clean, and hygienic."

"Need any investment?"

"Nope. I’m partnering with my father-in-law," Jiang Liu said with a proud smile.

"Tsk, tsk." Wang Han gave him a half-smile. "So you’re clinging to your wife’s thigh, huh?"

"What are you talking about? This is all my own hard work."

"Oh? Is the little villa also your own hard work?"

"You seem to know a lot," Jiang Liu said calmly. "That’s right. And a large part of it was indeed due to my hard work."

’In any case, I’m no kept man.’

"Tsk, tsk. How nice. Did you get your marriage certificate?"

"We did."

"That’s good. Live a happy life with your Little Princess, then. What a shame~ Your big sister isn’t ten years younger."

Wang Han shook her head, her green jade earrings swaying.

"Heh heh," Jiang Liu laughed dryly.

He felt a little uncomfortable.

After they finished eating.

Jiang Liu said, "Come on, let’s go check on the place next door."

"Alright. Wait, don’t move."

"What is it?" Jiang Liu asked warily.

"You’ve got something on your face."

Wang Han took out a tissue, raised her hand, and carefully wiped Jiang Liu’s mouth. "There was some sauce on your lips."

"Oh. I see."

Jiang Liu nodded. This exact scene was witnessed by a young lady passing by the entrance, who stared, dumbfounded.

What was going on??

"Shall we go?"

Jiang Liu didn’t want to spend another minute with this woman.

"Mhm."

The two of them went next door for a look. Wang Han said a few encouraging words to the workers.

The foreman asked Jiang Liu with an eager-to-please expression, "Boss Jiang, about this kitchen doorway, do you want us to seal it up or leave a door?"

Wang Han interjected, "My personal suggestion is to leave an antique-style door. It can be locked from inside the kitchen, which would be more flexible."

After hearing her out, Jiang Liu nodded in admiration.
