Chapter 496: Chapter 395: Out-of-Town Merchant: What Kind of Godly Shop Is This?

And so, Jun Qingmeng spent every day with her. She talked with her, played with her, changed Tongtong’s diapers, and personally took her to the bathroom and watched over her.

She cherished Tongtong completely, as if she were her own child. None of the other kids received this kind of deluxe VIP treatment.

In Jun Qingmeng’s eyes, there was no difference between Tongtong and her own flesh and blood.

Besides, this child had also completely accepted her as her mother.

Tongtong was overjoyed. "Okay then! Mommy, you should try to give me a few more little brothers and sisters."

"Here’s what I was thinking, Mommy. See, you can have one little brother to cook for me, and one little brother to make money for me. Oh, right! You also need to have a little brother who becomes a doctor, so if Tongtong, Daddy, and Mommy get sick, he can take care of us!"

Jun Qingmeng rolled her eyes and nodded. "That’s a great idea."

"Right?"

Tongtong smiled happily. "I’m super scared of the hospital. Every time we go, Daddy gets really anxious, and it makes my heart ache for him."

"Mommy, you’d better have a few more. I want two little brothers to play video games with me. We can play Minecraft together. I’ll just hide in the house and make my brothers go outside to mine stone and bring me food..."

Tongtong said, counting on her fingers.

Jun Qingmeng felt a headache coming on as she listened.

She suddenly pitied her husband. ’How on earth did he manage to raise Tongtong all by himself?’

’Or rather, what on earth has my husband been teaching her?!’

Exasperated, Jun Qingmeng said, "Tongtong, Mommy probably can’t have that many. Having babies is exhausting."

’I’m not a piglet; I can’t just pop them out in a whole litter for you.’

Jiang Tongtong’s eyes lit up as if she’d discovered a new continent. "Mommy, that face you’re making looks just like Daddy’s!"

"Is it?"

Jun Qingmeng stroked her smooth, soft cheek.

The corners of her lips curved upward.

’All those kisses with my husband are making us look more and more alike.’

’Nice.’

’I’ll have to steal a few more kisses tonight.’

’I can never get enough!’

「7:05 AM」

Jiang Liu announced they were open for business.

He also announced that this morning’s special was Braised Sea Cucumber with Scallion.

The customers at the back of the line were stunned.

"Braised Sea Cucumber with Scallion? Holy crap, Brother Jiang can even make a hardcore dish like that!"

"I’m feeling a little drained... I wonder if Brother Jiang would make an exception and sell me a serving."

"I’m drained too! I need a boost, or I might pass out in line next time!"

The smile on a wealthy man’s face froze.

’There’s really a new dish?’

’I’ve seriously lost out this time!’

’The regret!’

’If I’d known, I would’ve done a little less "exercising" last night. Then I wouldn’t have ended up so far back in line!’

The customers at the front of the line whooped and hollered as they rushed into the shop.

"Hahaha, this is amazing! Boss Jiang is the GOAT!"

"Damn, I was floored when Master Jiang announced the Braised Sea Cucumber with Scallion. So badass, so badass."

"One order of sea cucumber, Brother Jiang! Got any rice?"

"We do," Jiang Liu replied with a smile.

"Oh yeah! I’m gonna devour three of your rice bowls today."

Lei Mingyue could no longer remain calm. He lost all interest in the pretty girls on his phone, and simply shoved his phone into his pocket to get in line.

He was a bit dumbfounded.

’Since when does my disciple know how to make Braised Sea Cucumber with Scallion?’

’When did this happen? How come I didn’t know about it?’

’This won’t do. I have to find some fault with his dish today. Otherwise, where would my pride be as Huaxia’s number one master of Lu cuisine?’

’How am I supposed to guide my disciple in the future?’

Lei Mingyue’s determination to take Jiang Liu as his disciple grew even stronger.

’I must find some flaw!’

’If my disciple keeps this up, I’ll have no face left as his master!’

「Inside the shop.」

Two businessmen speaking an unintelligible Guang Province dialect entered the shop.

Neither of them was particularly tall. They had plain looks and heavy bags under their eyes. They appeared to be twin brothers.

The two of them were on their way to discuss a partnership with Jun Xinghe and decided to make a detour to check out the shop belonging to the son-in-law he was constantly bragging about on his social media feed.

The older brother, Pan Xi, looked disappointed.

"Damn it! Before we came, I thought this was some amazing place. Now that I see it, I’m sorely disappointed."

"Forget it, Brother. We’re already here, might as well have a bite," the younger brother, Pan Wang, said, equally disappointed. Besides the long line of people, the place seemed pretty ordinary.

The food on the menu looked unremarkable, too. It was all stuff they had eaten a million times before.

"Hey, give us twenty steamed buns—a few of each filling—and two bottles of juice."

"Alright. You two can find a place to sit."

Jiang Liu called out casually, then went back to packing orders with his head down.

This annoyed the two men even more. They scanned the packed seating area, hesitated for a moment, and had no choice but to squeeze in at a table with three aunties.

The customers behind them chuckled.

"Those two morons. There’s a new special and they order steamed buns instead. That’s hilarious."

"Who cares? The more clueless fools like them show up, the better our chances, right?"

"True that."

Lei Mingyue breathed a sigh of relief.

It looked like the special would sell out right before it got to him, but now he might be in luck.

The two brothers chatted amongst themselves.

"This place really sucks. Let’s just eat and get out of here. Next time, we’ll fly straight to Jing City. I’m never coming back to this dump again!"

The older brother, Pan Xi, glared at his younger sibling. "I told you we shouldn’t come, but you just had to insist on trying it. What a waste of our time. Couldn’t we have gone for a shampoo and head massage with this time?"

The aunties sitting nearby couldn’t really understand what the two were saying.

They shot the pair a disdainful look.

’More country bumpkins from out of town.’

Soon,

the steamed buns and juice they ordered were brought to their table.

"They look alright, I guess?"

"Yeah, not bad."

The older brother took a bite of a shrimp-filled bun, and his eyes immediately bulged.

Shock!

’How can there be such a delicious steamed bun in this world?!’

He was dumbfounded.

Without another moment’s hesitation, he grabbed several more buns and stuffed them into his mouth.

’This Three-Delicacy bun is incredible!’

’The pork bun is so yummy!’

Pan Wang watched his brother foolishly wolfing down the food.

He was stunned.

"What’s wrong with you, Bro?"

...Pan Xi had no time to answer him.

’It’s too delicious!’

’He was ready to declare this the God of all Buns!’

Curious, Pan Wang also took a bite of a bun.

Huh???

’How can the texture of this bun be so good?’

The bun wrapper was soft yet chewy, and the filling was plump and generous. The savory juices were piping hot and fragrant, the shrimp was crisp and tender, and its juices were exquisitely fresh.

Even the seasoning was absolutely perfect. A single bite filled his mouth with an aromatic fragrance.

Pan Wang was also dumbfounded.

Just like his brother, he lowered his head and began to wolf down his food.

"Delicious!"

"Goddamn! You have to try the juice!"

"HISS! The juice really cuts through the richness. It’s sweet and sour, so perfectly balanced!"

"Hurry up and eat! If I’d known, I would’ve bought more!" Pan Xi glanced at the long line at the counter, his heart filled with regret.

All the dissatisfaction and contempt he’d felt for the shop moments ago had transformed into pure admiration and adoration.

He couldn’t help but wonder, ’If even a simple steamed bun is this delicious, what must the other dishes be like!?’

"Bro, the boss here is incredible! I suspect he’s from outer space!"

"He’s not human, I agree. The food he makes is beyond anything on Blue Star!"

The two of them had turned into total fanboys.

They completely forgot about work.

One of the aunties at their table scoffed, fanning herself gently with a smug expression.

’Boss Jiang is from our very own Yangzhai Street, and he’s especially good to us locals, too.’

’Heh, all these out-of-towners can do is be jealous.’

The two brothers quickly devoured all twenty steamed buns.

The younger brother, Pan Wang, ripped the seal off the juice bottle and started pouring the watermelon pulp directly into his mouth.

The pulp was crisp, bursting with sweet watermelon juice with every bite.

It was cool and refreshing.

Utterly satisfying.

"Bro, go buy some more."

"Buy my ass. How am I supposed to get through that crowd?"
