Divorced Dad's Gourmet Shop
Chapter 442 - 341: Tongtong, Sleep with Grandma?
Chapter 442: Chapter 341: Tongtong, Sleep with Grandma?
Jiang Liu was driving with Jun Qingmeng.
Jun Qingmeng was in the passenger seat, holding Tongtong.
Jiang Dahai was lying in the back, so Lin Qiu just sat on his lap.
’Might as well crush him to death.’
’He reeks of alcohol.’
’He’s sleeping in the bathroom tonight!’
Secretary Wang trailed leisurely behind them.
The car stopped at a red light.
Jiang Liu suddenly remembered he hadn’t replied to Ren Qingqing’s message.
He thought for a moment before replying, "Sounds good. I’ve noticed Yang’s Buns has picked some prime spots. We’ll just mindlessly open our shops right next to hers."
Jiang Liu was being a little vengeful, but only a little.
It was more a matter of convenience.
Based on what he knew of Yang Yixue, any location she picked was guaranteed to be good. Otherwise, she would never invest her money in opening a shop there.
Ren Qingqing: "Understood, President Jiang. We’ll do everything as you wish. I’ll contact the landlords right away. Are we buying the properties outright?"
Jiang Liu: "Yes!"
Ren Qingqing: "The company registration should be complete the day after tomorrow. What about you? Will you have time?"
Jiang Liu: "I’ll give my lawyer power of attorney. He’ll handle it for me."
He suddenly realized.
’Having a lawyer is awesome.’
’You don’t have to worry about a thing; they handle every last detail for you.’
’The prerequisite, of course, is that the lawyer is trustworthy and actually has a brain.’
Ren Qingqing: "Understood, President Jiang. You can think of me as your consultant. I’m on call twenty-four hours a day, so feel free to contact me directly with any issues."
Ren Qingqing: [Panda with a red scarf emoji]
Ren Qingqing: "And I mean for *anything*! You don’t need to be formal with me, President Jiang."
Although she wasn’t optimistic about Jiang Liu’s ability to grow the company, she still had to suck up when necessary.
After all, Jiang Liu was the company’s "Prince Consort."
Jiang Liu raised an eyebrow. "Alright. I’ll let you know if I need anything. Don’t worry about being on call at night. If something comes up, I’ll contact you during the day."
Just as he sent the message, the light turned green.
Jiang Liu floored the accelerator and shot forward.
They were back at their residential complex in no time.
He supported his 176-pound father with effortless ease.
Secretary Wang, who was right behind them, was green with envy.
’If I were in that good of shape, my wife would definitely be a lot happier.’
*
Ren Qingqing put down her phone.
She let out a sigh of relief.
’Excellent. Phase one of the sucking up went very smoothly.’
She sent a message to the work group chat: "Boss Jiang has given the green light. Aside from the third location, which we’ll need to re-evaluate, we’re starting work on the first two!"
The third proposed location was two kilometers away from Yang Yixue’s shop.
The first was directly across the street, and the second was a hundred meters away.
"Copy that!"
"My keyboard’s already smoking! My fellow warriors, are you ready to charge into the valley of death with me?!"
"Yeah, yeah, hurry back."
"Sure, I’ll definitely do it next time."
Ren Qingqing: "Liu Ming, you’re on haggling duty with the landlord tomorrow morning."
Ren Qingqing: "Wang Quan, you go to the design department and get the CAD drawings finalized. As soon as everything checks out, we begin construction immediately!"
For a normal shop, renovations would take a month after demolition.
But Jiang Liu’s shops would be much faster.
That’s because the company had its own elite in-house teams for everything from designers and material sourcing to construction crews.
Once they got started, things would move at lightning speed.
As long as they didn’t have to modify the 420mm load-bearing walls, the work could be done in under a week.
*
BANG!
Jiang Liu pushed open the door to their apartment.
He tossed his dad onto the sofa.
Panting for breath, Secretary Wang laid Jun Xinghe on the sofa as well.
"If there’s nothing else, I’ll be heading back, Boss Jiang."
"Have you had dinner?"
"Not yet, but it’s fine. I’ll just grab some bread on my way home."
Jiang Liu gave him a look, a hint of craftiness in his eyes. "Here, take these buns. Eat them with your wife and kids when you get home."
"Oh, great! Thanks, Boss Jiang! I’ll be off then?"
"Drive safe."
Secretary Wang scurried away as gleefully as a piglet set free.
Jiang Liu glanced at the sofa.
Both men were already snoring.
Lin Qiu said, "Liu’er, help your dad lie flat. Don’t let him sleep with his neck crooked like that."
"Okay."
She might have been angry, but Lin Qiu was still very concerned about Jiang Dahai.
Jiang Liu got a glass of water and placed it on the table for Uncle Jun, in case he got thirsty later.
As for his own dad, he left him in his mom’s care.
"We need to get Dad to drink less in the future," Jiang Liu said. "It’s not good for him."
"He won’t listen even when I tell him. Let him drink himself to death for all I care! An early death means an early burial, and I’ll finally have some peace and quiet by myself!" Lin Qiu said, exasperated.
Jiang Dahai: "SNORT?"
Jiang Liu wiped away a bead of non-existent sweat and offered his dad a second of silent mourning.
’His own wife was so much more gentle and sweet.’
’His mom, on the other hand, was a ruthless tyrant.’
Jun Qingmeng came up behind Jiang Liu and started massaging his shoulders. "How are you feeling? You must be exhausted today."
’Her heart ached for him.’
’Her husband had been busy from morning till night.’
’He didn’t even get a break in the afternoon.’
’And then he had to entertain her father for dinner.’
She felt a pang of both heartache and anger.
This was her legally wedded husband; she herself couldn’t bear to trouble him in the slightest.
At that thought,
Jun Qingmeng’s gaze toward Jun Xinghe turned dangerous.
’Maybe she should... just drag him outside and toss him out?’
Jiang Liu patted her soft, slender hand. "It’s nothing. You know your husband’s body better than anyone. This little bit of work is a piece of cake."
"Oh, you’re just so tough, aren’t you?" Jun Qingmeng said, rolling her eyes at him.
A faint blush rose to her cheeks, making her look charming and adorable.
Jiang Tongtong was snuggled in Jiang Liu’s lap, hugging his arm in a drowsy haze.
Lin Qiu smiled like a seasoned veteran and asked, "Tongtong, why don’t you sleep with Grandma tonight?"
’They’re already married.’
’Isn’t it time to give my son and daughter-in-law some space to... get things done?’
Ah... Jun Qingmeng’s face instantly turned scarlet, and her heart began to race.
She didn’t dare meet Lin Qiu’s eyes, instead fixing her own shimmering gaze on her husband.
Jiang Liu’s heart was racing too.
He looked up at Jun Qingmeng.
Jun Qingmeng bit her rosy lip, her loving gaze fixed on him, unblinking and unflinching.
Even a pig could understand the meaning in her eyes.
’Even if she was on her period, it wasn’t as if they couldn’t do... other things...’
’As long as it was with Jiang Liu, she didn’t mind anything!’
Jun Qingmeng’s breathing quickened slightly.
’The ideas were there, but she had to suppress them!’
’Can’t let my mother-in-law find out!’
"No," Jiang Tongtong mumbled drowsily. Hearing her grandma wanted to take her, she instinctively tightened her grip on Jiang Liu’s arm, snuggling her head against it comfortably. "Tongtong wants to stay with Daddy forever."
’Daddy’s smell is so comforting.’
Unwilling to give up, Lin Qiu tried to tempt her:
"Are you sure you don’t want to sleep with Grandma? Grandma will buy you ice cream! Just think, there’s strawberry, and vanilla~ and blueberry! How about Grandma buys you three whole cartons, Tongtong?"
Ice cream?
The mention of a treat made Jiang Tongtong a little more alert.
’Ice cream or Daddy?’
She struggled to lift her head.
She hesitated for a second.
Then she settled back into the crook of Jiang Liu’s warm arm.
’Of course I choose Daddy!’
Tongtong hugged Jiang Liu’s arm happily. "I don’t care! Tongtong only wants Daddy, not ice cream~"
’Daddy is more important than ice cream.’
’Ice cream is more important than popcorn... NOM NOM NOM.’
Lin Qiu’s eyes darted about as she switched tactics. "Then what if Grandma buys you a new toy? A little toy train that goes CHOO CHOO CHOO."
But it was no use.
Jiang Tongtong’s personality was a lot like Jiang Liu’s.
Once she set her mind on something, she wouldn’t change it.
Incredibly stubborn.
"This little baby wants to sleep with Daddy! Ice cream and toys can’t tear this little baby away from Daddy!"
’If this little baby abandoned Daddy for ice cream, Daddy would be so sad!’
Jiang Tongtong had a lot on her little mind.
