Chapter 395 - 394: The Vile Double-Standard Dog Jun Xinghe
Chapter 395: Chapter 394: The Vile Double-Standard Dog Jun Xinghe
"...I’ll ask."
Jun Xinghe pursed his lips in frustration.
’Why are their requirements so damn specific?’
He cautiously composed a WeChat message to Jiang Liu, taking a long time to edit it. Secretary Wang, watching from the side, gave him a strange look.
Jun Xinghe: "Hey Xiao Jiang, you there? How was work today?"
Jun Xinghe: "I have an important client who’s dead set on trying your private kitchen’s food—specifically, the off-menu stuff. *Sigh*. I didn’t want to agree, but this client is very influential. Do you think you could do it?"
Jiang Liu was busy serving customers, his phone tucked away unseen in a drawer.
And so, Jun Xinghe waited for ten minutes.
Still no reply.
But he wasn’t angry.
’He’s my own son-in-law, after all. Gotta be patient.’
Heh heh.
If this had been one of his employees, his explosive temper would have had him ordering someone to blow up their phone by now.
"Did he reply, President Jun? What did he say?"
Secretary Wang asked quietly from the side.
"Not yet. We wait!" Jun Xinghe shot him a glance.
"My son-in-law must be busy. We should do our best not to disturb him. He’ll probably reply when he’s free. No need for us to get anxious!"
...Secretary Wang was utterly speechless.
He complained silently to himself.
’You’re such a damn hypocrite.’
’The one time *I* didn’t answer your message, you hired a locksmith, ran over to my place to pick the lock, and dragged my ass right out of bed.’
’But when your son-in-law doesn’t reply, he’s just ’busy’ and ’can’t be disturbed’??’
Heh!!
Pah! Ptooey! You damn hypocrite! I spit on you!

Second Best in the World Restaurant.
Jiang Liu carried a large platter of steaming-hot buns to the counter and called out an order number.
Jiang Xiaoqian, Du Qin, and their three companions lined up and entered the restaurant. The group of five ordered two platters of tuna, a serving of yak beef, two servings of ham, seventy-five buns, five bottles of beer, and five bottles of juice.
From this one order alone, Jiang Liu netted nearly ten thousand yuan. It was an incredible feeling!
Xia Lianshan remarked with a sigh:
"Boss Jiang’s business is booming. With this constant flow of customers, he never has to worry about sales. If our hotel did this well, the two of us would be making seven or eight hundred thousand in commission."
"No kidding. Boss Jiang must be making a fortune every day. With skills like his, it’d be a crime against heaven and earth if he didn’t get rich."
Du Qin brought over the chili oil.
"If I had this kind of skill, I would’ve struck out on my own ages ago. Better yet, I’d just ask Boss Jiang to be my master. It’d be like ascending to the heavens in a single step! How amazing would that be!"
President Cui, a pale and pudgy man, grew more and more dumbfounded as he listened from the side.
’What in the world are they talking about?’
’Are you guys already sucking up to him without even realizing it?’
’And you’re thinking of ditching me right to my goddamn face?’
’Besides, the two of you are usually cocky as hell. How did a few buns completely change your personalities?’
’Is this food laced with something?!’
Xia Lianshan brought over the buns.
"What’s all the chatter? Hurry up and eat!"
"*Hiss*! I could eat these buns for another ten years and never get sick of them!"
"Go on and eat, President Cui! Don’t just stare! I’m telling you, dipping the buns in chili oil is ridiculously good!"
"Here, take one."
Du Qin pressed a bun into the dumbfounded President Cui’s hand and shot him a look, urging him to eat. ’Can’t you see the two outsiders next to you have already downed three each?’
"Mm, I’ll give it a try,"
President Cui was nonchalant at first. Then... ??? He took one bite of the bun and was utterly blown away.
’What the hell have I been eating all my life? Dog food?’
’How can the difference be this huge?!’
God!
’My horizons have been broadened.’
All his doubts were shattered.
And the texture of the shrimp filling! It was plump and firm. With a single bite, savory, scalding-hot juices flooded his mouth. In that instant, every culinary desire a person could have was not just met, but exceeded.
President Cui began to recognize what he was eating.
His shock deepened.
’Holy hell, is this the meat of a wild, deep-sea Little Cyan Dragon? But where could you possibly find a Little Cyan Dragon this fresh?’
It didn’t feel out of place, but it was still a profound shock.
The ham arrived.
The slices of meat, with their crimson flesh and white fat, had a beautiful, natural marbling like the finest marble. It was like watching a peerless queen dance gracefully.
The smoky fragrance, mingling with the salty aroma of sea salt, made their mouths water instantly.
"Perfect! I’ve never had such perfect ham! This is a work of art!"
"So good! It tastes even better with beer. It’s not greasy at all."
The five of them devoured the two platters of ham in under three minutes.
Despite being elites in their respective fields, they were currently eating like famished beggars who hadn’t seen food in days.
Jiang Xiaoqian frowned in displeasure. "Can you all slow down? If anyone saw us, they’d think we were a bunch of vagrants."
"President Jiang, you ate the most," President Cui pointed out.
Jiang Xiaoqian: ...
’How audacious!’ (Table flip)
’Do I not care about my reputation anymore?’
The yak beef arrived at the table.
Jiang Xiaoqian: ’Ah, whatever. Who needs to worry about their reputation in Boss Jiang’s restaurant?’
The plate of yak beef was rapidly devoured by the five of them.
Even a dog would weep at the sight.
Xia Lianshan was holding the plate, drinking the leftover juices.
Still not satisfied, Jiang Xiaoqian put down his chopsticks. "Do any of you know a way to get Boss Jiang to sell us more food?"
"I’m not short on cash," he added.
"I already looked into it," Du Qin said, giving him a meaningful glance. "Heh, no chance."
"President Jiang, you have to understand, plenty of big shots come to Boss Jiang’s place. I’ve never heard of him giving anyone special treatment just because they have money."
"That’s true. Status means nothing here," Xia Lianshan sighed, nodding in agreement.
He would willingly spend any amount of money to eat food this delicious. Just one meal here was enough to put you in a wonderful mood.
What a shame.
Du Qin went up to the counter.
Lu Benyi said seriously, "We need to buy a house in this neighborhood, and fast. I have a feeling the real estate here is about to get extremely competitive."
"Good point. Look for one for me too while you’re at it," said Jiang Xiaoqian.
"This really is a great place to retire. Even if Boss Jiang never adds anything new to the menu, I could eat this food for ten years and not get sick of it. Yeah, buying a house and moving here would be a comfortable life."
Just then, Du Qin brought over the tuna.
The table immediately fell silent.
They picked up a slice of pinkish-white fatty tuna, dipped it in the secret-recipe soy sauce and wasabi, and placed it in their mouths.
The slice of fish was light and sweet, seeming to melt on the tongue. It was the pinnacle of tenderness.
Jiang Xiaoqian was floored once again.
’Was everything I’ve eaten before this just garbage?’
The tuna here at Boss Jiang’s was rich, fragrant, and sweet. It simply melted in your mouth.
The wasabi had a hint of spice, but without the harsh, nose-burning pungency.
It was too good!
’This has to be wild bluefin tuna, and the freshest possible at that.’
"How much was this tuna again?" Jiang Xiaoqian asked, unsure.
"A little over a thousand, I think. Not expensive."
"A little over a thousand? That cheap?!" Jiang Xiaoqian exclaimed, a look of pure shock on his face as he chewed on a piece of lean tuna.
With his net worth in the hundreds of billions, he could afford to eat this for more than ten lifetimes.
He was filled with regret. ’I should have come here sooner.’
President Cui sent a message to his hotel’s administrator: "Get in touch with someone and have them change our hotel’s sign to ’Second Best in the World Grand Hotel.’"
Administrator: "? President Cui, is this really you? The sign... Can we even change it? We’ve been using our current name for ten years."
President Cui: "(30-second voice message)"
Administrator: "Yes, sir, I understand. I’ll get it changed immediately..."
After finishing the tuna, Du Qin and Xia Lianshan looked at Jiang Liu with eyes so full of worship they looked ready to prostrate themselves at his feet.
’He truly is a master!’
The flavor of every dish burrowed deep into your soul, shattering any sense of pride. It was so good it was peerless!
A direct hit to the soul!
