Chapter 532: Chapter 531: Coming for Ling Fei

Inside the great hall, Ling Fei, who had been sitting calmly, suddenly felt his eyes flash with a sense of unease.

After all, he and the Kunpeng Race had a significant grudge. ’Why would they suddenly come to visit the Stone Race now?’

Though he felt a little uneasy, he forced himself to remain calm, deciding to wait and see how things would unfold.

"Did they say what they came for?" Old Shi Ren inquired.

"No, but Kun Shan of the Kunpeng Race said he has important matters to discuss and has prepared generous gifts," the burly Stone Man reported.

"Kun Shan... he’s a genius of the Kunpeng Race’s younger generation. To have already become a King at such a young age, and now he’s come to visit our clan in person..."

"It seems they really do have important matters to discuss," a few Elders in the great hall commented.

"In that case, let’s see him," Old Shi Ren said, his eyes flashing. He hadn’t wanted to receive anyone from the Kunpeng Race.

But now that Little Shi Tou had failed to open his Spiritual Apertures, the Stone Race’s foundation was weakened, and he couldn’t afford to let relations between the two clans become too strained.

"Yes!" And with that, the burly man withdrew.

’Kun Shan is already a King?’ Ling Fei’s brows furrowed slightly. King wasn’t a Realm, but a title. Only those who reached the Returning Ruins Realm could earn it. This was an expert who had surpassed the Daoist Palace Realm; a figure like that would be considered extremely powerful even in the Divine Wilderness.

Inside the Dragon Bone Space, Lian Shuang was also worried and began explaining the power levels of experts in the Divine Wilderness to Ling Fei.

’Let’s see what they’re here for,’ Ling Fei thought, his eyes glinting as he remained outwardly composed.

A mere two breaths later, a powerful aura swept in through the entrance of the great hall, and a man in a Ghost Robe suddenly appeared.

Two young men followed at his side.

This man was, of course, Kun Shan of the Kunpeng Race.

"Clan Leader, Kun Shan has arrived!" a guard outside the hall announced as Kun Shan appeared.

"Show him in!" a deep voice came from Old Shi Ren.

"This way," a guard outside gestured, inviting Kun Shan into the great hall.

Kun Shan was very young, appearing to be only in his forties, and possessed a more heroic and martial air than Kun Hai.

’The great hall of the Stone Race!’ Kun Shan’s eyes flashed with a dark light as he glanced toward the hall before him.

In a single glance, he saw the Long-haired Demon Wolf and the Demon Eagle settled on the floor of the hall.

’What is the Stone Race up to?’ Kun Shan wondered, a look of astonishment on his face.

The two young men beside him were even more baffled.

’The top experts of the Stone Race are all seated in this hall, but there are also two low-level Demon Beasts here?’

Still feeling rather surprised, Kun Shan strode into the great hall.

’That young man is...’ The moment he entered the great hall, Kun Shan’s gaze landed on Ling Fei.

The unexpected presence of this young man made him frown slightly. ’There seems to be a trace of a True Dragon Aura about him. Could he be *that* person?’

’There’s a strange glint in Kun Shan’s eyes when he looks at me,’ Ling Fei noted, his own eyes flashing. He had a feeling Kun Shan recognized him.

Seeing Kun Shan staring at Ling Fei, the members of the Stone Race were also surprised.

However, they didn’t pay it too much mind.

After all, an outsider had suddenly appeared in their great hall; it was only natural for Kun Shan to look surprised.

"Haha, I am Kun Shan of the Kunpeng Race. I greet Clan Leader Shi and all the esteemed seniors!" After his brief moment of surprise, Kun Shan retracted his gaze, stepped forward, and clasped his hands. "I hope you will forgive this junior’s sudden visit!" His words were exceedingly polite.

And yet, the arrogance in his bearing remained.

"Haha, I have long heard that the Kunpeng Race produced a young genius. Seeing you today, you are indeed extraordinary. Please, have a seat," Old Shi Ren said with a dry laugh, gesturing with his hand.

"Thank you, Clan Leader Shi!" Kun Shan clasped his hands and, with a flick of his sleeve, moved toward a seat on the right.

After sitting down, he couldn’t help but shoot another glance at Ling Fei.

The two young men from the Kunpeng Race stood at his side.

"So, young friend Kun Shan, what business brings you to the Stone Race?" Old Shi Ren asked, his eyes narrowing slightly.

"Haha, I heard your clan’s Young Master failed to open his Spiritual Apertures, so I have brought a few gifts," Kun Shan said with a smile, signaling to the young men beside him.

At once, with a flip of their hands, each of the two young men produced an exquisite Jade Box.

However, the expressions on the faces of Old Shi Ren and the six Elders were not pleased.

In fact, all of their faces turned grim.

Little Shi Tou’s failure to open his Spiritual Apertures was a sore spot for the Stone Race. For Kun Shan to mention it so openly—wasn’t that just rubbing salt in the wound?

Despite the reactions of the Stone Race members, Kun Shan’s expression remained unchanged, as if he had expected this all along.

He waved his hand, signaling the two young men beside him to open the Jade Boxes.

The young man on his right immediately opened his Jade Box.

Instantly, a brilliant light flashed from within the box. A black radiance surged forth, and an incredibly dense Essence Qi began to permeate the air.

’Such pure Essence Qi!’ The dazzling light and the rich energy startled even Ling Fei, who was watching from across the hall.

"Is that...?" On both sides of the hall, the eyes of the six Stone Race Elders lit up.

Afterward, everyone’s gaze was locked onto that Jade Box.

Inside the Jade Box, a black lotus, about a foot high, was in bloom.

The petals of the black lotus were translucent, as smooth and lustrous as jade, and they radiated a dazzling light. Wisps of Essence Qi wafted from it; just a single scent made one feel as if every pore on their body was opening in relaxation. The sensation was like one’s Spiritual Apertures being cleared, unblocking the entire body. Even Ling Fei’s eyes widened.

’This Spiritual Essence is incredible!’ Ling Fei’s eyes lit up.

"Haha, this is our clan’s Ink Jade Celestial Lotus. It is nurtured by the condensed Heaven and Earth Essence Qi. Its petals can be used in medicine, and its seeds have the miraculous effect of opening one’s apertures. If your clan’s Young Master were to consume it, I’m sure it would be of great help," Kun Shan announced with a loud laugh, gesturing toward the black lotus.

Hearing this, the Stone Race elders were slightly startled.

Ling Fei finally understood why Kun Shan had dared to touch upon the Stone Race’s sore spot.

A gift of this magnitude was enough to earn the Stone Race’s undying gratitude.

He then looked toward the Stone Race’s Clan Leader. If the old man accepted this gift, it would signify the forging of a bond with the Kunpeng Race.

If that happened, Ling Fei’s situation in the Sealed Demon Land would become even more precarious.

Thus, Ling Fei waited for Old Shi Ren’s response, eager to see what his attitude would be.

The six Elders also looked at Old Shi Ren.

"The Ink Jade Celestial Lotus... a truly rare Heaven and Earth Spirit Essence. Your clan seldom lets such a treasure see the light of day," Old Shi Ren said, smiling at Kun Shan.

"With such a gift, this old one is truly flattered." He simply stared at Kun Shan, in no hurry to accept the gift.

He seemed to know that the Kunpeng Race’s sudden generosity surely came with a request.

"Haha, Elder Clan Leader, you are too kind. Our two clans reside in the same land; it is only natural that we should foster closer ties," Kun Shan said with a smile, then gestured for the other young man to open the second Jade Box.

At once, the Jade Box was opened.

As the box opened, a dark light surged upwards, and an incredibly sharp aura erupted from within.

The aura was so intense it made Ling Fei’s scalp tingle.

’What is this now?’ Even Ling Fei felt a surge of curiosity.

As the dazzling light subsided, he could see an ink-black stone resting within.

A scorching hot aura radiated from the stone block.

"This is Black Flame Celestial Essence, an exceptional material for forging Weapons. This piece is large enough to forge a full set of Weapons for the Young Master. I hope Clan Leader Shi will accept it," Kun Shan said with a smile.

His expression was filled with confidence.

Two such treasures were extremely rare, even in this Sealed Demon Land.

"Black Flame Celestial Essence... so this is the Black Flame Celestial Essence from the Black Flame Ore Vein! The kind that you can barely mine a single piece of in a thousand years!" By the hall’s entrance, Shi Gang was utterly stunned.

He was still waiting by the entrance to the hall since he had to watch over the two Demon Beasts. His heart pounded wildly in his chest after seeing the item.

"If you add this Black Flame Celestial Essence when forging a Weapon, it would make it incomparably sharp and vastly increase its durability!" The burly man beside him had a fervent look in his eyes. If they could get a Weapon infused with Black Flame Celestial Essence, their strength would increase by a full thirty percent.

An increase of thirty percent in strength meant they could undoubtedly crush other Cultivators of the same level.

"If we use this Black Flame Celestial Essence to forge a Weapon for Little Shi Tou, it would certainly make him much more powerful!"

"They say even a small piece of smelted Black Flame Celestial Essence can be used to forge several Weapons. A piece this big... there will be plenty left over!"

At that, the faces of the six Elders burned with excitement.

Not only could this Black Flame Celestial Essence be used to forge a Weapon for Little Shi Tou, but their own descendants could also benefit from it.

"How could this old one dare accept such gifts?" Old Shi Ren said, his eyes flashing. "Surely a gift this precious doesn’t come with any conditions?" Having lived to his age, he naturally understood that accepting gifts put one in the giver’s debt. Thus, even though these two treasures were incredibly rare, he remained calm and unruffled, waiting to hear the catch.

"Haha, Senior, you are too kind." Kun Shan stood and clasped his hands toward Old Shi Ren and the Elders. "To be honest, I did indeed come with a request, but it is a small matter. The most important thing is to bring our two clans closer. After all, the Seal on the Divine Demon Sea is weakening. A new era is upon us. If our great clans don’t join hands and advance together, I fear we won’t be able to escape the fate of being sealed away again!"

"A new era is indeed coming, and our two clans should grow closer," Old Shi Ren said, still unmoved. "And what is this ’small matter’ you mentioned?"

The six Elders beside him also looked on with questioning expressions.

"Haha. Yesterday, a celestial anomaly occurred, signifying that an outsider had entered our Sealed Demon Land. Coincidentally, there is an outsider in this very hall today. He must be the one. I, Kun Shan, humbly request to take this person with me!" Kun Shan said with a smile, clasping his hands toward Old Shi Ren. Then his gaze shifted, turning sharp as a blade as it locked onto Ling Fei.

’So they really did come for me!’ Ling Fei’s pupils contracted sharply as Kun Shan’s gaze fell upon him.

He had felt uneasy from the moment Kun Shan arrived.

Now, Kun Shan’s words had just confirmed his suspicions.

"You want to take him away?" Hearing this, Old Shi Ren looked astonished.

The Elders in the hall were also stunned. ’The mighty Kunpeng Race offered two priceless gifts just to take away this outsider?’

’There had to be some hidden reason for this.’

"Haha, this young man is currently a guest of our clan. I wonder what your clan plans on doing with him?" Old Shi Ren asked, also looking surprised.

"To be frank, my clan has a feud with this man. We came here today to ask your clan to grant us the chance to take our revenge!" Kun Shan said, his eyes flashing with a sharp aura. "If Clan Leader Shi is willing to grant this request, not only I, Kun Shan, but the entire Kunpeng Race will be eternally grateful."
