Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor
Chapter 530 - 529: I Am an Alchemist
Chapter 530: Chapter 529: I Am an Alchemist
As the voices of the two burly Stone Race men reached his ears, Ling Fei knew this was bad.
Their voices were filled with such resentment that it seemed they wanted to take all their frustrations out on him.
Ling Fei felt utterly frustrated. ’Their Holy Medicine failed. What does that have to do with me?’
Just then, two burly men walked over. They were towering figures, their muscular arms rippling with power.
One of them unlocked the cell and stepped inside.
"Well, aren’t you enjoying yourself, kid? Actually healing your wounds in here!" The burly man’s anger flared when he saw Ling Fei sitting cross-legged on the stone bed, his aura partially restored. "Get the hell up! Our Clan Elder wants to see you!" he barked at Ling Fei.
The other burly man glared at Ling Fei with hatred, unleashing a powerful aura.
The aura had actually reached the Divine Mansion Realm, which shocked Ling Fei to his core.
’Just a lackey has reached the Divine Mansion Realm... How powerful must the experts of this clan be?!’
’After all, even top experts in the Southern Wilderness, like Sect Leader Yuan, are only at this Realm!’
At this, Ling Fei furrowed his brow slightly and got to his feet.
"What business does your Clan Leader have with me, sirs?" Ling Fei asked.
"’What business?’ the man in front of him snapped. ’You fell from the sky, affected our Stone Race’s Holy Stone, and made the Holy Medicine fail... Hmph. If the Clan Leader hadn’t told us not to touch you, I, Shi Gang, would’ve already smashed you into a pulp to vent my hatred.’"
Shi Gang laid out the whole story, seeming to vent his frustrations as he spoke.
"’If it weren’t for you, our Little Shi Tou would have grown up to be a peerless figure!’ Shi Gang finished, his face filled with regret."
He then shot Ling Fei a vicious glare.
The other burly man did the same.
"’Uh... the Holy Medicine was ineffective, you say. Perhaps it just... never had that effect to begin with?’ Ling Fei said awkwardly."
"’Don’t you dare try to argue your way out of this.’ The two men simply glared at Ling Fei, looking as if they wanted to eat him alive."
"’Then may I ask you, sirs, has your clan’s Holy Medicine ever successfully helped someone open their Spiritual Aperture before?’ Ling Fei asked, his brow furrowed."
"’Well... no, it hasn’t!’ The two Stone Race men paused, taken aback."
Hearing this, Ling Fei was rendered speechless and shot them a disdainful look.
’It’s never even worked before, and they’re still complaining that the Holy Medicine failed?’
He felt utterly wronged.
The two Stone Race men faltered, apparently realizing this point as well.
"’Even if there’s no precedent, our clan’s Holy Medicine is a supreme Treasure Medicine capable of forging a Divine Foundation! Of course it should be able to open someone’s Spiritual Aperture!’ Shi Gang insisted, steeling himself."
Ling Fei understood then. These guys were determined to blame him for this failure.
This was frustrating, but Ling Fei knew he had to find a way out of this.
"’Let’s go!’ Shi Gang urged."
Ling Fei stood up and followed them out, weaving through the stone prison.
As he walked, he mulled over Shi Gang’s words.
"’Brother Shi Gang, your Young Master’s only problem is that his Spiritual Aperture hasn’t opened? There’s nothing else wrong with him?’ he inquired."
"’What are you rambling on for, kid? You’ll be eagle food soon enough,’ the other man said impatiently."
"’Ahem,’ Ling Fei coughed dryly, then smiled enigmatically. ’To be perfectly honest, I am an Alchemist. I can refine all sorts of Miracle Elixirs and can even awaken a person’s Spiritual Wisdom. You see, I have a Golden Eagle here. It was once just an ordinary Demon Beast, but after taking one of my elixirs, it immediately became intelligent.’"
As Ling Fei smiled, Light Patterns flickered across his body, and the Golden Eagle suddenly appeared.
The Golden Eagle immediately nuzzled its head affectionately against Ling Fei’s leg.
It had now reached the Profound Pill Realm and was on the verge of breaking through to the Celestial Pill Realm.
"’That’s an eagle!’"
"’And it seems to have Dragon Qi!’ The two men stared, stunned."
"’Heh, that’s because this eagle cultivated with me. It awakened its Spiritual Wisdom and refined True Dragon Qi, granting it a trace of Dragon’s Might,’ Ling Fei said with a smile."
"’You can really help awaken someone’s Spiritual Wisdom?’ Shi Gang asked, looking at Ling Fei with suspicion."
"’Of course,’ Ling Fei said, his expression calm and profound."
"’Don’t you go spouting nonsense, kid. If you do and the Clan Elders get angry, they’ll feed you to the eagles for sure,’ the other man snapped."
"’How would I dare?’ Ling Fei replied with a smile."
"’Fine. I’ll inform the Clan Elders about this later,’ Shi Gang said with a serious expression."
Saying Little Shi Tou hadn’t opened his Spiritual Aperture was putting it mildly. The truth was, his Spiritual Wisdom was insufficient for him to care for himself, let alone cultivate.
Now that Ling Fei claimed to possess such an ability, Shi Gang didn’t dare dismiss it. Any glimmer of hope was welcome.
Besides, the Golden Eagle truly did look as if its Spiritual Wisdom had been awakened.
Still, they didn’t fully trust him.
After all, many Spirit Beasts were naturally intelligent and could cultivate on their own. Perhaps this Golden Eagle was simply a Spiritual Bird?
"’Heh. To tell you the truth, the elixirs I refine don’t just awaken the Spiritual Wisdom of ignorant Demon Beasts. They can also enhance a Cultivator’s comprehension. The benefits are many.’ Ling Fei smiled and glanced at Shi Gang, his meaning clear: even someone like him could become smarter by taking this elixir."
"’It would be useful for us, too?’ Shi Gang’s eyes lit up."
The other man craned his neck, looking at Ling Fei with interest.
Who wouldn’t want to become more intelligent?
Greater Spiritual Wisdom meant enhanced comprehension, which would naturally lead to smoother cultivation.
"’Of course. It even has some effect on top-tier experts,’ Ling Fei said proudly."
He had complete confidence in his Spirit Awakening Dao Pattern.
"’Then can you give me one to try now?’ Shi Gang asked, his face flush with excitement. He was clearly tempted; he’d been stuck at the Divine Mansion Realm for a very long time."
"’Shi Gang, be careful! Don’t let this kid fool you. What if he gives us poison?’ the other man warned."
He glared at Ling Fei, his face full of suspicion.
"’You almost had me.’ Hearing this, Shi Gang flinched, a look of lingering fear on his face."
"’Is that all the courage you have?’ Ling Fei was speechless. ’This is the Stone Race’s territory. Where could I possibly run?’"
"’You’d better tell that to our Clan Leader,’ Shi Gang said, growing cautious again."
Seeing his chance, Ling Fei started probing for information about this place.
But Shi Gang grew increasingly wary and was unwilling to reveal much.
Ling Fei shrugged and had no choice but to follow the two men out of the stone prison.
Outside the stone prison stood majestic mountains shrouded in clouds and mist. Waterfalls cascaded down their sides, creating a scene like an otherworldly paradise.
However, many members of the Stone Race lived in caves.
Only the Clan Leader, some Elders, and those of the Direct Lineage lived in the pavilions and halls.
Even then, there were caves behind those grand halls.
The Stone Race simply had a natural affinity for cave dwellings.
Led by Shi Gang and his companion, Ling Fei took to the air, flying toward a tall peak among the mountain ranges.
While in the Void, Ling Fei could feel a vast Celestial Might pressing down from the sky above. The sensation was inexplicably oppressive to the soul.
This was the Sealing Power of the Divine Demon Sea.
’This place is vast, and the Spiritual Qi is dense. It’s a shame that the Celestial Might from the sky is so oppressive. It feels like my very soul is in shackles.’ Ling Fei sighed. The feeling of being suppressed and bound was deeply unpleasant. Such an intangible force could easily affect a person’s Dao Heart and their cultivation.
Soon, Ling Fei arrived at a mountain peak.
Here, a great hall stood.
"’Reporting to the Clan Leader, the outsider has been brought!’ Shi Gang announced as he walked into the hall, just as Ling Fei landed."
Ling Fei and the other guard waited outside.
"’Good. Bring him in!’ From within the hall, the deep voice of Old Shi Ren boomed, carrying with it an invisible, terrifying aura."
As the aura washed over him, Ling Fei’s heart trembled.
’This person’s Cultivation is far beyond Kun Hai’s. They’re on completely different levels!’ Ling Fei’s expression turned solemn, his heart pounding in his chest.
Only then did he truly understand the power of the Stone Race.
The might carried in Old Shi Ren’s voice alone surpassed that of Kun Hai, and even the power of Emperor Tang when he was fighting with all his strength.
’If this person were to become angry, how terrifying would he be?’
Ling Fei was led into the great hall.
Upon entering, an invisible pressure descended out of thin air. He felt his breath catch, his very veins threatening to rupture.
The feeling was one of utter helplessness.
’So strong!’ Ling Fei’s eyes flashed as he looked up and saw seven elders seated within the great hall.
The people of the Stone Race were all very tall. The seven seated figures all had white hair and looked like old men in their twilight years.
Yet the aura they exuded permitted not a single trace of contempt. They were like true Kings, holding the life and death of all creation in their hands.
’The power of these seven must surpass the Daoist Palace Realm!’ Ling Fei’s eyes flickered as he thought. ’Especially the Old Shi Ren in the center. His aura is far stronger than the other six. His Divine Might is restrained, yet it feels as oppressive as a mountain, making him all the more intimidating.’
’Truly worthy of the title Divine Demon Ancient Race!’ Ling Fei thought.
But he did not show any fear.
He had seen experts like this before—he had even met the Ao Qian Dragon King. He was no longer the inexperienced youth he once was.
He walked into the hall, his gaze sweeping coolly over the seven powerful figures.
Of the seven, four wore indifferent expressions, while two others watched him calmly.
Only Old Shi Ren’s eyes held a faint glimmer of light, as though he was somewhat interested in Ling Fei.
After walking into the hall, Ling Fei remained silent. He simply stood there, his expression placid and calm, revealing no trace of panic.
’At this point, panicking would only put me at a disadvantage. It’s better to face this calmly and accept whatever happens.’
Seeing Ling Fei so composed, the seven Elders in the hall were all slightly taken aback, a look of surprise in their eyes.
Their auras were overwhelmingly powerful. How many people could remain so composed in their presence?
’This kid is no simple character!’ the Stone Race Elders thought to themselves.
Although they were forced to see Ling Fei in a new light, their expressions remained cold and stern, their authority on full display.
