Divine Wilderness Dragon Emperor
Chapter 403 - 402: Giving Pointers Again
Chapter 403: Chapter 402: Giving Pointers Again
"Senior Sister Lian Shuang, your Sword Dao is transcendent. In that case, I’ll ask for your guidance on the Sword Dao first." Ling Fei’s gaze focused, and he drew a Spirit Sword.
Sparring with others was a way to test one’s strength and broaden one’s horizons.
But sparring with Lian Shuang was an opportunity to discover his own shortcomings and address them. That was why Ling Fei intended to begin with a duel of Sword Dao.
If he could elevate his Sword Dao even slightly, this duel would be well worth it.
"Very well," Lian Shuang, a woman of few words, replied, her gaze resting lightly on Ling Fei.
As she spoke, the aura around Ling Fei shifted.
Standing on the platform, he seemed to gradually merge with his sword, as if he himself were becoming a long blade.
Within Ling Fei’s Dantian, Sword Patterns intertwined and spread outward. The essences of his various Sword Dao Mysticals began to coalesce before flowing entirely into the Spirit Sword in his hand.
Facing Lian Shuang, he didn’t dare hold anything back. If he was going to strike, it would be with all his power.
’This time, I must unleash my strongest sword strike.’ As Ling Fei’s eyes flashed, the Mysticals within his blade continued to converge.
Meteor! Celestial River! Cold Dao! True Dragon!
Void-Shattering!
Including the Mystical of Void-Shattering, that made five Mysticals in total.
With a single thought, the various Mysticals fused, and the ultimate technique gradually took form in Ling Fei’s mind.
The next moment, his eyes flashed. He lunged, long sword in hand, thrusting toward Lian Shuang.
SWISH!
Ling Fei’s body moved like a meteor streaking across the Void. His long sword, like a point of starlight imbued with the intent of Void-Shattering, thrust toward Lian Shuang.
The long sword stirred up a terrifying storm in its wake, which raged forward like a berserk dragon.
This one strike possessed the majestic momentum of the Celestial River, the savage dominance of a True Dragon, and the speed of a meteor.
It was, in essence, a perfect fusion of all the Mysticals Ling Fei currently commanded.
As the sword thrust forward, many cultivators on the Observation Platform couldn’t help but squint, trying to track the path of the strike.
But the strike was simply too fast, making its trajectory nearly impossible to follow.
Yet, Lian Shuang remained perfectly calm. Sword Patterns coalesced around her, instantly forming five Sword Lotuses.
The Sword Lotuses spun, then shot forward with a whistle.
WHOOSH!
Each of the five Sword Lotuses contained a different Mystical. As they shot forward, Sword Qi erupted from their petals, slashing at the air before them.
For a moment, it was as if a veritable Sword Sea was crashing down on Ling Fei.
The Sword Qi surged, each strand as tangible as a physical blade, clashing against Ling Fei’s long sword.
However, Ling Fei’s strike carried an unstoppable momentum. Wherever it passed, the Sword Qi disintegrated; the blades formed from the Sword Lotuses’ Sword Patterns were simply no match for it.
Then, with a flash of light, his long sword pierced through the Sword Lotuses and drove toward Lian Shuang herself, who wielded a blue long sword.
It was then that Lian Shuang made her move.
It was that same ethereal strike, seemingly untouched by the mortal world.
As she struck, nearly every cultivator present held their breath. Even Ling Fei frowned.
Before his eyes, the blue sword light unleashed a wave of sharp, killing aura. Ling Fei’s Sword Momentum faltered, and his Heart Spirit trembled.
Instantly, the power of his Void-Shattering strike began to wane.
The next moment, the blue sword light struck Ling Fei’s long sword. A powerful Sword Intent raged forth, crushing Ling Fei’s own Sword Intent piece by piece.
The feeling was one of utter suppression—savage and absolute—as if the blue sword light had become sentient, possessed of its own will.
’It’s this feeling again.’ As his Sword Intent crumbled, turmoil churned within Ling Fei.
He had experienced the might of Lian Shuang’s sword before, but this time it was even more powerful, the Sword Intent it contained even more savage.
Under the impact of that savage Sword Intent, Ling Fei was sent flying backward.
He had clearly lost that exchange.
"Was Ling the Pill Master defeated in a single blow?"
"Lian Shuang is incredible!" Seeing Ling Fei sent flying, the cultivators on the Observation Platform were shocked.
They had seen Ling Fei fight before and knew how strong he was.
Yet now, before Lian Shuang’s peerless sword, he seemed utterly outmatched.
After forcing Ling Fei back with a single strike, Lian Shuang withdrew her hand. She did not press the attack, but simply stared ahead calmly.
At that moment, Blood Qi erupted from within Ling Fei, neutralizing the force of the impact, and he landed gracefully.
After landing, his gaze sharpened. He looked at Lian Shuang and couldn’t help but take a deep breath.
Even though his mastery of the Sword Dao had constantly improved over the last three months, he was still somehow lacking when faced with Lian Shuang.
This woman seemed forever insurmountable, like a Divine Maiden from beyond the heavens, someone one could only gaze upon in awe.
"Not bad," Lian Shuang said calmly from across the platform. "To go from the Early Stage of Celestial Pill to Celestial Pill Perfection in just three months... However, your sword strike is ultimately still lacking."
She was quite satisfied with Ling Fei’s talent.
After all, though her Swordsmanship was exceptional, she had been cultivating for much longer than Ling Fei. It was only natural that she would be this powerful.
Ling Fei’s progress, however, was what truly surprised her.
She couldn’t help but wonder—if they had started at the same time and from the same point, it would be difficult to say who would be stronger.
"Still lacking?" Ling Fei frowned slightly. He knew, of course, that his Sword Dao was not yet perfect.
It was just that he had been cultivating for too short a time to have grasped what those deficiencies were.
"I ask for Senior Sister Lian Shuang’s guidance," Ling Fei said, his gaze lifting toward her.
"The two of them just stopped?" The cultivators on the Observation Platform looked utterly bewildered.
"Aren’t they supposed to be competing? Why does it look like a Sword Dao lesson?" The disciples from the various sects felt that something was off about the scene.
The people from the Lingyun Sect, however, were not surprised in the least.
"Your strike appears to fuse various Mysticals, and your control over them has clearly reached the Perfection Realm," Lian Shuang said. "However, your comprehension of those individual Mysticals has not. Only when your comprehension of the Mysticals reaches Perfection, and your control over them reaches Perfection, can you be said to have reached the true Celestial Pill Perfect Realm."
’Only when the comprehension of the Mysticals reaches Perfection, and my control over them reaches Perfection, can I be said to have reached the true Celestial Pill Perfect Realm?’ The words were a sudden revelation to Ling Fei.
In truth, Ling Fei had long known his Celestial Pill Perfect Realm was still flawed.
He could feel that his control over his Mysticals was not yet complete.
Like the Mystical of Meteor and the Mystical of the Celestial River.
The only one he had truly brought to Perfection was the True Dragon Mystical Technique.
He had, after all, only been in the Celestial Pill Perfect Realm for a few short days. It was an extremely difficult task to raise all of his Mysticals to the Perfection Realm in such a short time. Most people found it difficult enough to comprehend a single Mystical, let alone four or even five different ones.
"To cultivate the sword, you must be dedicated to it, push it to its absolute limit to achieve Perfection. Mystical Martial Arts are the same," Lian Shuang’s voice was ethereal, as if a Divine Maiden were preaching the Dao. "First, focus on one Mystical. Push it to its extreme. Once it reaches Perfection, then you can cultivate the others. Master one path, and all other paths will open to you."
’First, focus on one Mystical and push it to its extreme?’ Upon hearing this, Ling Fei’s heart stirred.
"This Lian Shuang is not just a Sword Dao prodigy, but also an outstanding teacher!" On the high platform, Yuan Huaitian stroked his beard and smiled.
"A true talent, indeed. I’ve only been guiding Ling Fei in the Alchemy Dao lately and have neglected his Martial Arts. It’s a good thing we have Lian Shuang to offer him timely advice."
Grand Alchemist Yuan Chun looked rather embarrassed.
As for Master Yuan Lang, he was thoroughly ashamed. When it came to insights into Martial Arts, he was no match for Lian Shuang.
If he were to teach Ling Fei, he would only hold the young man back.
