Chapter 1475 Aftermath
Chapter 1475 Aftermath
Solar System had disappeared.
The sun, the planets, and the moons—everything was taken in, turning the once beautiful sight into a dull one.
A sigh escaped Varian’s lips before his body spasmed and he leaned against a solid wall of space.
Pieces of black cloth shredded from the dead informant floated in front of him and his tired eyes narrowed with a glint.
Without solar system to hold him hostage, there wasn’t anything these guys could do anymore.
‘Once my body recovers a bit…’
The injuries were terrible but he had the access to healing by Hortus. The reason he was nearly immobile was the power of space-time that kept wrecking his body.
Since it was such a big change in a very short period of time, the space-time fabric was violently lashing out against him.
It’s like he dived into a blackhole, managed to snatch away things from it but as a result, got thrown even deeper in.
The space around his arms, legs, neck and torso distorted, tightneing and loosening without any predictable pattern.
It felt as if there were dozens of these space snakes coiling around him, with their pulsing bodies pressed against him.
As if that wasn’t enough, tide after tide of time distortion struck his body.
The information from one part of his body reached his brain in a unit of time while the other took two or three.
When he tried to move, his movements were unpredictably fast or slow.
And finally, the world in front was fluctuating like he was watching it all through a sea wave.
“Ugh,”
He couldn’t even tell how long he had spent in here anymore.
It just felt like a few seconds but—
“Why is he still not coming out? It’s been more than thirty minutes already.”
Sarah wiped the blood on her cheeks and glanced in a direction with a worried look.
Boom!
The space in front of her exploded and Sia flew back with a dented sword.
Nexa’s pale ash skin began to glow red against the black clothes. Even though she remained morbidly thin, her skin tone resembling blood caused her to somehow look even scarier than before.
“I didn’t think you would drag me down this far.” She sighed and glared at the two women.
But her gaze also lingered on the pair of wings watching everything from the distance.
‘Why is it alive?’
World Wills were akin to a collective subconscious, at least that’s what she was taught. .
They were supposed to be rigid and mechanical, not so lively and flexible like this one.
All the World Wills she encountered so far were like that. Sure, they could impose a rule or two but couldn’t change that actively as pleased.
But Oob not only changed the rules as it pleased, it did so after extreme calculations and pressed only the buttons that would hurt the most.
It’s not just alive and flexible, it’s also scarily clever!
As if that wasn’t enough for a surprise, the fact was that the entire star system disappeared right in front of her eyes.
Nexa half-regretetd coming here. Everyone here was just so absurd.
But when that thought appeared, a power in her soul surged and her eyes grew bloodshot.
“Master…Give me back my master!”
Her red skin turned a shade darker and the aura flowing from her body rose even more, hitting heights of peak rank 8, barely under a rank 9.
Sarah and Sia were able to crush Nexa in the beginning. But as her pale skin turned more and more red, the advantage decreased.
And now—
“Get away!”
A gaseous dark aura enveloped the woman and she shot out like a meteor.
This time, her skin was as dark as space itself and the aura overflowing from her was fighting against Oob’s restrictions, trying to push her back to her original strength.
A wave of gravity blasted the woman followed by a slash of time.
Nexa’s movements slowed but only for an instant and the increased gravity was useless in front of her tremendous momentum.
But the power of soul struck her before she could celebrate. Almost right away, the power of vitality engulfed her.
Burning in white and red flames which strangely didn’t contradict each other, the lady’s silhoutee remained visible through the fires.
It was like the witch hunt of the old earth, but with someone who’s an actual witch.
“Ku-Kuuuu! There’s nothing you can do to stop me!” The flames blasted open, revealing an injured but energetic Nexa.
The lady moved like a missile, the falling attacks unable to stop her. In just a few moments, she reached Varian who had barely began to stand.
Instead of panicking or attacking her, Varian took out the Requiem sword and waved it like it’s some treat.
Nexa stopped in her tracks, her gaze fixed on the sword. She looked no different from a dog eagerly gazing at the bone.
“Take your master and leave.”
Varian threw the sword and Nexa quickly reached out her hands to catch it.
Two lines of black and white streaked across the space between them.
Nexa moved on instinct, dodging the dangerous attacks. But when the power of space, time and gravity fell at once, she slowed one.
Not stopping there, the enemies even used the powers of soul, damaging her response.
For a very brief moment, even though she managed to set up a preliminary defense, Nexa was exposed to near full force of Varian’s attacks.
Like a doll thrown into furnace, she melted away. And only as her existence began to die off did the peculiar power in her mind dissipate.
‘Ah!’
An intricated spell was enslaving her to that old man all along.
It was truly an unjust death. But there was no such thing as justice for her when she killed millions when she didn’t need to.
‘Master, I hope you too are rotting in hell.’
The woman’s body exploded into specks of light.
“Huff! Huff! Huff!”
Varian breathed down heavily and slumped into a chair he created from the power of order.
Sia and Sarah quickly reached him. Even though they had quite a few injuries of their own, the two focused on feeding him potions and removing the dangerous aura of Nexa.
“…Why is your body like this? There’s too much residual space-time to be cleaned.” Sia frowned with a worried expression.
Varian shrugged.
The work he did was primarily of order-chaos as well as space-time. Thanks to the slivers, he didn’t have to deal with the aftermath of order-chaos.
But space-time, well…
“I won’t be able to use the powers properly for a while.”
Sarah caught onto something and asked in a cautious tone. “So no teleporting?”
Varian nodded. “For a while.”
“Excellent!”
A majestic voice rang out of nowhere.
