Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 5307: Revered

  • Next Chapter

At the banquet, other than his wives, only Claire and Logan were seated on the other end, opposite him.

Davis had also thoroughly enjoyed the reactions of his father and mother as he described his journey over the course of the feasts that kept being served again and again with no end. He ate like his stomach was a bottomless pit. All his favorite dishes had disappeared from his vicinity, but his body didn’t leave anything to waste either, completely digesting them like wiping the plate clean.

Even as an Empyrean, his diet could be comparable to a World Hegemon’s since his chaotic-tempered body was a bottomless energy-grubber and a fantastic energy-storing fleshly vessel.

Many present were momentarily taken aback by seeing Davis eat so much, but his mouth never stopped, continuing to echo. They could tell he was genuinely enjoying this feast, making them wonder just how he had suffered there under the threat of the Celestial Transcendent and multiple peak experts.

"No... tell us!"

Before telling them about the moment he reversed the Desolate Era, he left them on a cliffhanger as he passed the ball to Evelynn, telling her to recount her side of the story near the Galaxy Wormhole.

Davis laughed as he sensed the fury from many of his children. They looked like they wanted to strangle them as he left them hanging at the most important event of his journey.

Evelynn giggled softly and then continued.

It didn’t take long for the others to be quickly enamored by her voice and storytelling ability, which was much more elegant and descriptive than Davis’s crude yet excitement-inducing retelling.

Davis stopped eating and listened to her as he leaned back.

When the story got to the point where she was nearly harmed by Realm Master Felza Nyssadra and the Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid from the Asura Dimension, everyone raised their voices in shock, and Azariel practically clenched his teeth, his eyes turning furious.

Viridia’s gaze had also turned cold.

How could their mother have faced such danger? They could only be grateful that Illumina was with her.

Then they were even more surprised to hear the Celestial Transcendent make a move to stop the two evil forces. The intricacies playing out within the battlefield were plenty, making Davis add in a few words to explain to them what had happened.

But the moment the poison was unleashed to corrupt the Galaxy Wormhole and stop more enemy forces from pouring in, the banquet hall went silent as Evelynn announced.

"-what stepped out of the Galaxy Wormhole after we were sure no one could cross it was none other than the Supreme Ruler of the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy, the Hell Hydra Monarch. He strode into the sea of poison like it was nothing and reached out his hand to me."

"...!?"

"Ma!" Azariel shot up, his figure rooted to the ground in fear and anger.

He couldn’t believe what he was hearing, and neither could the others.

What kind of threat was the Hell Hydra Monarch!? The Celestial Transcendent wouldn’t deign to use poison, but this entity would!

Even Zenova’s eyes went wide in shock.

Xiu Juili quivered, and Jade Aurora dropped her cutlery, making the silence even more resounding.

However, Evelynn faintly smiled as she raised her hand and placed her palm over her cheek. She looked away from Davis but cast a gaze from the corner of her eye at him.

"How could your father let him? With insane speed, he appeared from nowhere and kicked the Hell Hydra Monarch’s face, sending him flying. It made me fall in love all over again."

"Wha-"

Zenova’s lips parted, appearing genuinely taken aback.

On the other hand, Claire, who was about to ask if Evelynn was fine, heaved a sigh of relief as she shook her head, muttering.

"These children... why not say that first?"

Logan perspired faintly as he brushed his face with his palm, "I can’t imagine what coming face to face with such a monstrosity would feel like. It’s a Paragon Magical Beast, you know, a Paragon Magical Beast! A pressure from such a beast- that alone would..."

His voice quivered with excitement and fear. He grabbed Claire’s hand and cheered, "Our son is incredible!"

"Father, thank you so much for protecting Mother even as you battled the Celestial Transcendent on the other battlefield!"

Viridia rushed out of her seat and appeared beside Davis, hugging him as her eyes turned moist.

Davis and Evelynn were dumbfounded.

Isabella and plenty of others also rushed to him, using this chance to hug him and praise him while Myria and a few sisters and children repeatedly asked if Evelynn, their big sister and first mother, was truly fine. There was no way she could be fine after facing the Hell Hydra Monarch, who had a million ways to poison them to death.

The banquet had almost made them forget what the dangers in their journey were like.

Both Davis and Evelynn expected everyone to look at them with eyes of blame since they had inevitably offended a Supreme Ruler now. This would make it a personal vendetta instead of a heavenly duty. If the Hell Hydra Monarch was really out for their blood in an aggressive manner, who could they blame?

It would be none other than Davis, but how could they blame their Patriarch and Emperor? So the blame would fall to Evelynn.

But seeing and sensing the overflowing emotions of relief from everyone, Davis and Evelynn were genuinely moved.

Evelynn nearly shed tears of joy, but controlled herself, maintaining the disposition of a big sister. However, she acknowledged each and every one of them.

Zenova walked to Evelynn.

The others parted for her as they sensed her aura surging.

"I admit defeat. I cannot match your bravery to go against such beings face to face."

She said with no explanation, causing Evelynn’s purple eyes to gleam, but she eventually shook her head.

"I also admit defeat. I lost our bet."

Zenova’s lips curled as though she knew it, but her gaze was still solemn, "Still, offending the Hell Hydra Monarch? Why didn’t you tell me this first? Can we afford to be leisurely having a banquet like this right now?"

Davis and Evelynn looked at each other with amused smiles.

They knew Zenova would definitely harp on this matter.

Davis laughed, "Of course, we can. That idiot already used his chance to track us and failed. The Celestial Transcendent helped again at that time, not allowing the Hell Hydra Monarch to enter the galaxy. Unless he has other ways to track us, I figure we’re pretty much safe. But even if he comes, so what? Don’t you trust your Emperor to take care of it? A suppressed true body can’t do much damage to me. He’d only be losing a true body."

"Then I’m relieved."

Zenova smiled lightly, half-believing him since she felt he was bragging again.

How could it be so easy to kill the true body of a being one or two stages above the Realm Beast Stage, even if it was just one-ninth?

Naturally, Davis was bragging.

He only wanted everyone to stay at ease, so he overinflated his strength. He wouldn’t know the result until he fought them fully with no self-imposed restrictions, but if it came down to it, he could always rely on Fallen Heaven.

"Alright, go back to your seats. We’ll continue."

Davis waved his hand after comforting the others, and Evelynn continued shortly after.

Soon, the ball was returned to him when the purple-gold clouds started shrouding the realm, allowing Davis to recount the epic tale of his slicing through the source of the Desolate Era with the help of Saintess Lunaria’s disciples and reversing it with his fusion of Heart Intent and Level Two Obscure Intent of Scythe Laws, even though he comprehended the latter later. After all, he could not say he manipulated fate.

Zenova had her eyes closed, but an undeniable smile plastered her face.

Anyone could tell that her emotions had peaked at that moment. Everyone had stopped eating, gazing at Davis with various emotions, but mainly reverence and even worship.

"Father, you have my undying respect." Lucian said with a heavy sigh as he cupped his hands.

He thought he had seen everything when he witnessed his father’s Heavenly Empyrean Tribulation, but it turned out that he had seen nearly nothing.

The others followed suit, some even going as far as to kneel.

It made Davis dumbfounded since he wanted cheers and excitement, not a solemn martial greeting ceremony. But he nodded, the respect and reverence allowing him to have another exquisite feast.

"Long live our Emperor!" Isabella cheered.

"Long live our Emperor!"

Fiora echoed with a gaze bizarrely similar to her sealed elder sister, and it turned into a chorus with the others following suit. Azariel, Lucian, Arc, and the other sons instantly ran to his side and nearly threw him up, but Davis dodged them, only to be blocked by his parents and surrounded by nearly everyone as they threw him up.

"Hahaha!"

Davis couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Today was a great day, and he was glad he was here to savor all of it- all of it!
