Divine Emperor of Death
Chapter 5291: Powerful Experts Descend
The Celestial Transcendent nodded ever so lightly, "I knew I could depend on you, Grand Elder Yue Qing. Your insights into Level Two Obscure Intent of Boundless Formation Laws - Core Heart Symphony- have always left everyone breathless. With your help, escape will become futile once they get caught within the stars."
"You are too polite."
Grand Elder Yue Qing offered a courteous smile, but her gaze slightly lingered over the Celestial Transcendent’s side profile.
The Celestial Transcendent shifted his gaze to the brown-gold robed man, "Grand Elder Durandai, I’m counting on you to hold against the true threat, which is the Frostcloud Sword Empress. Her comprehension in Level Three Obscure Intent of Imposing Sword Laws chills the soul. She could use her life to exchange one of ours and even harm our true body should the stars align in her favor."
Even with his imposing figure and stoic face, Grand Elder Durandai’s expression slightly changed when he heard it. He sighed lightly, "To think a Divergent was able to comprehend that fabled realm. Even after spending billions of years, I have yet to reach such a realm. Only the Sect Master and a few Ancestors could possibly match her."
The Celestial Transcendent smilingly shook his head, "Your Heaven-Sundering Sword Arts and your peak comprehension in Level Two Obscure Intent in Imposing Sword Laws, along with the ancient sword you possess, are alone enough to suppress her nascent comprehension in Level Three Obscure Intent. You don’t need to end her. Just make sure she doesn’t interfere when everyone else is being dealt with."
"An easy task."
Grand Elder Durandai responded, his voice brimming with boundless confidence.
The Celestial Transcendent nodded, but after a pause, advised them.
"Don’t underestimate them. They’re a tight-knit Divergent group and wouldn’t easily scatter. It is said that they have received the teachings of a Saintess who is also highly presumed to be a Divergent, but a true Saintess nevertheless. Their behavior is different from that of other Divergents who only fight for themselves at the cost of everything and might truly die for each other, so be careful."
"Many thanks for guiding us, Supreme Ruler!" The two of them offered their bows, their gaze full of respect.
Zest Hyluan shook his head, "I have never seen a realm-wide net of this scale. Part of me wants to say that we’re all overestimating the Divine Emperor of Death, but..."
He gestured at the realm, and then drew his hand back to the back of his head as he combed through his white hair.
"His threat is undeniable. The fact that you all agreed to descend speaks volumes."
"Indeed." Grand Elder Yue Qing nodded, "We cannot stay still after hearing even the Supreme Ruler’s avatar has tasted defeat once. That spells disaster for our galaxy and perhaps the entire race. More experts are descending. The Grand Elder from the top ten powers will all arrive shortly within a few days’ time as soon as they exit seclusion and find a node to descend. However, Teacher Boundless Sage is already here. He has practically sealed the realm by working along with that rising star, causing anyone to leave at this moment to be marked by the Boundless Sixteen Starmap Disc. No matter where they go in the Upper Realms, they will be found."
She sighed with relief before asking vaguely, "It makes one curious. How did Supreme Ruler get the two of them to work together? Where are they now? I haven’t been able to see them while I was setting up the formations."
She asked with a faint smile as she knew the Boundless Brothers were a group even the Supreme Ruler would find it hard to give commands to.
They were far older than the Supreme Ruler himself and were from the Sky Word Emperor’s era, so by seniority alone, the Supreme Ruler would not disrespect them even if they were to decline his summons.
But she was interested in knowing if the Boundless Formation Sage moved for the sake of his disciples since the Divine Emperor of Death seemed to have killed his uninitiated fifty-third personal disciple who hadn’t fulfilled the master-disciple ceremony and had never met, but a personal disciple nevertheless.
She could barely remember the disciple’s name but knew he was from the Mistwalker Family.
"Don’t even begin..." The Celestial Transcendent shook his head, "They’re complete maniacs when it comes to their expertise and are highly arrogant. I didn’t expect them to work together either. But as I said, the stars aligned for us. With them working together, escape is nigh impossible for the Divine Emperor of Death. As for them, they’re at the Galaxy Wormhole site, working together to seal it as they felt like they had chanced upon inspiration. If they succeed, it would be more secure for us. The Hell Hydra Monarch keeps rejecting my conditions, and we’re at a stalemate."
"..." Those words made the others quiver.
Who was the Hell Hydra Monarch? If they saw his true body in its full glory, they might be crushed to death from the sheer pressure their soul would be put under.
Only the Celestial Transcendent can talk as though it were just another hegemonic beast.
Hesitating a bit, the Celestial Transcendent added, "The only problem is that conniving and sneaky Dark Apostle who keeps pulling wool over my eyes. She even nullifies her presence as though she doesn’t exist. Even for me, it’s hard to counter that unless I catch her by the neck."
Grand Elder Durandai narrowed his eyes, his strong stature moving subtly before a sharp intent rose across the space.
"Is there a chance that Dark Apostle from the Heavenly Blight Hall would help them escape again?"
He asked in a booming tone.
Zest Hyluan gazed at him, wondering what his problem was, but Grand Elder Durandai explained himself.
"My apologies. My seventh daughter had succumbed to a person of immense destiny, becoming a mindless flower who wholeheartedly loved him and followed him no matter what kind of decision he had taken. They had long died together after their destiny sought an end. Since this Divine Emperor of Death is known to be a womanizer who has a lot of women who-"
"I have seen them. They’re not mindless."
The Celestial Transcendent waved his hand lightly, not taking offense, "As for that female Dark Apostle, or the other Divergents from the Heavenly Blight Hall, they’re not the type to lose their minds and act to provide cover for a person of great or immense destiny at the cost of their own lives. They’re Divergents, those who don’t conform to fate, so such a thing wouldn’t happen to them. However, they’ve been diligent in displaying they support the ascension of the Divine Emperor of Death, so they will help him leave no matter what, but whether they devour him after that is something only their leader knows."
"We can’t have another Desolate Divergent, especially not him. Who knows what he would do unlike the reasonable one?" Zest Hyluan waved his hand as he harrumphed, his sleeves swaying violently.
"Many thanks for your guidance, seniors." Grand Elder Durandai cupped his hands again.
*Bzzz!~*
At that moment, their talismans hanging from their waists rang. Before they could even react, the Celestial Transcendent raised his hand and pointed at a location in the western region.
"There."
A profound purplish-black astral light erupted as it ascended towards a star hanging in the vast, cold, and empty space.
"They’re making their move- they’re finally fleeing~" Grand Elder Yue Qing’s deep pair of eyes squinted.
"Not so fast!"
Zest Hyluan’s expression churned as he raised his hand and made a hand sign, causing the heaven and earth to shine in a jade-blue color. For a moment, time and space came together before splitting apart.
Space had frozen and time had stopped. Even the astral light that had been streaking towards the heavens abruptly slowed, as though an invisible hand had grasped the entire world. For an instant, everything had become motionless.
Time Stop!
However, Zest Hyluan did not stop there.
The others didn’t resist as his other hand moved.
The jade-blue radiance surrounding them suddenly condensed into a single point, and countless spatial techniques converged toward it.
*Bzzz!~*
The surrounding void warped violently.
The four figures vanished.
Teleportation!
*Whoosh!~*
Instantly, the four of them traveled an extremely long distance and descended on the astral light about to break through to the realm-wide marking formation.
"Want to flee?" Grand Elder Yue Qing coldly harrumphed.
She brought her hands together and countless jade stone discs shot out, intending to capture the astral light before it could even make it to the astral stars above. Their intentions were also to not allow them to break the formation, lest they escape before the formation could mark them.
"Leave behind the World Hegemon Grade Treasures and the seven-day reprieve will be upheld! Otherwise, don’t blame me for being ruthless"
The Celestial Transcendent cackled as his face turned evil, leaving the other three speechless as they cast a dazed look at him.
Zest Hyluan didn’t seem surprised, only smilingly shaking his head while spitting blood for casting Time Stop at such a wide range. Otherwise, the astral light would be extremely fast to intercept in time!
Below the vast formation, Fairy Qiyra Darkstar gazed up, her pupils quivering as she heard them loud and clear.
They had come so fast!
