Divine Emperor of Death
Chapter 5287: Evelynn’s Descent?
In his Realm of Will, the Sky Word Emperor said a lot but was subtle in his warnings.
He first told him about the archaic cultivation methods that humans practiced, which sought to devour other people’s essences- immortal foundations or simply the immortal vessels in today’s language. It made sense to connect that these Supremes also practiced a similar method of cultivation, or their very being was something that grew from converging essences, causing them to seek more, swallow, and devour.
Secondly, the Sky Word Emperor told him that his reincarnation essence was being coveted.
Davis had little idea as to what reincarnation essence was in reality. If it was not his soul, he supposed he would form one during his Law Merge in the Exalt Heavenly Tribulation. It made sense to think they were after this essence, but his Law Merge wouldn’t simply be just for Reincarnation Essence.
The Celestial Transcendent had long told him he would pay dearly for practicing three kinds of Laws instead of one.
If he were to succeed in his Law Merge or even to attempt it, Davis felt that he needed to conjure three Essences, namely the Reincarnation Essence, Chaos Essence, and Obliteration Essence.
If those beings hidden behind the moon gates in his Realm of Will were connected to the Reincarnation Dimension, he supposed they were after the Reincarnation Essence. But after his trip to the Elemental Dimension earlier, he knew some Supremes would be after his Obliteration Essence, and on the other hand, he could only imagine how many Supremes were after his Chaos Essence.
His entire cultivation made him a shining feast that these Supremes might fight each other to partake. Or perhaps, they had already made bids and deals on him. He could never know.
Once he told of this matter to Evelynn, she couldn’t stop herself from shuddering. The chill practically overtook her, and she suddenly experienced an illusion as though she was watched by hundreds of eyes in the air, the same feeling as being watched by the Evilbane Hexweaver Arachnid from the Asura Dimension and the Hell Hydra Monarch through the Hell Poison Gem and its replica.
Sensing the emotions, Davis was about to embrace her when she abruptly pushed him away.
"Wha-"
Davis was a bit taken aback before he saw her raise her head as a cold and dark glint flashed past her eyes.
"Since they want you and us so badly, then I suppose we can’t stop from serving them a masterful dish filled with poison."
She stood up as she took a few steps forwards to the entrance, her tone becoming more firm, "Besides, we won’t stay under the Celestial Transcendent’s thumb forever."
She turned to look at him, her gaze firm, "My son will make sure of that, so shape him up into a terrifying cultivator you wish him to be, a menace that no one would dare offend. I suppose it’s enough that he lived under your care and experienced the suffering that you have shielded him from."
"..."
Davis’s jaw dropped ever so lightly.
How could this doting mother suddenly change her attitude? But he didn’t even need to ask why, as he could visibly sense the agitation of her Malevolent Darkness Soul Physique aiding the change in her mindset.
He could also tell that she had just resolved herself for something.
Evelynn heaved a breath and then approached Davis with a signature smile which was more than seductive.
"Dear husband, you probably wouldn’t choose to cultivate further than Level Seven Empyrean Stage since it’s better to delay matters as much as possible, but I will seclude myself after we return home and increase my cultivation. It is better to seek my little sisters instead of me, better if you even forgot that I exist so that others would not feel overly jealous. After all, I was with you this entire time."
She reached out her hands to his head and buried her face in her bosoms.
"What are you trying to do?" Davis raised his chin up, his eyes narrowing with a gaze full of warning.
Evelynn paused as she looked away, her gaze turning determined as she thought to herself, ’It’s time to reach the realm of evil the World Master warned me about.’
"Become stronger so that I wouldn’t be useless in the future."
"And what does ’stronger’ mean?"
"Ah~"
He rose as he lifted her up, turning around as he threw her on the bed and pounced without missing a beat.
"It means what it means." Evelynn said, her breath huffing as she sensed his anger.
Towering over her tantalizing figure, Davis uttered with a faint calm, "That so? Then I’ll visit you daily, causing everyone of your sisters to hate you."
"You-!"
Evelynn gnashed her teeth.
She simply shut her mouth and looked away, refusing to engage with him, knowing he would convince her in the end with his stupid Heart Intent. On second thought, did he even need Heart Intent to make her change her mind?
She wanted to resist, but the more he gazed at her with his overwhelming gaze, the more unease grew in her heart.
After the long silence, she asked, "Why aren’t you doing it yet?"
Davis finally responded, but instead of becoming intimate, he moved away from her and sat at the edge of the bed.
"What if I become overbearing and instead of making love, I vent my lust on you?"
"..." Evelynn rose up as her ornaments fluttered with clinking sounds. Her purple eyes quivered as she wavered, but she shook her head, "I’m not-"
"Do you think I’ll wish for you to lose yourself in darkness?"
Davis turned to look at her and quickly grasped her cheeks with his palms, causing her to flinch, her eyes becoming teary, "Even if I lose myself, you are still there to get me back, but if I lose you, who will get you back?"
"..."
Davis had no words to say to that. His expression contorted with pain before he leaned on her forehead, releasing life energy to counteract the darkness spreading throughout her soul.
"No..."
Evelynn resisted, but Davis firmly held her. Her tears streamed down her face until the darkness was completely wiped away. Although it was only a temporary measure, Evelynn was finally able to think more clearly.
She slowly calmed down and held him more firmly. After a while, she said, "Embrace me."
"Hmm."
Davis made her lie down and slowly undressed her. It wasn’t until they made love a few times and reaffirmed the strong sentiments they had for each other that they stopped, got refreshed, and walked out of the chamber, joining the others in the hall.
Fairy Qiyra Darkstar and the others appeared to be waiting. Even though their expressions were not impatient, he hurriedly apologized.
She waved her hand, "There’s no hurry to leave, for it would be difficult to leave. Even if not for the karmic gazes, the realm is already surrounded by a strange formation, meaning anyone who leaves at this time will be marked."
"Huh?" Davis looked confused, "A grand formation that covers an entire Upper Realm? It is impossible to build such a thing in just a few days, even if they long predicted I would come here."
"I wish. This formation is not a flag array but a disc, a combined work of one of the Boundless Brothers and the same grand immortal who refined the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm using apocalyptic flames and allowed a bunch of juniors to concoct the Gilded Realm Ascendant Pill."
"..."
Davis blinked.
He knew that as time passed, more and more of these dangerous individuals near the level of the Celestial Transcendent were going to appear, but he didn’t expect that fabled forging master to start dropping on him too. If he wasn’t wrong, this forging master was none other than the expert who forged Dalila’s Cauldron - Profound Tyrant Veined Cauldron- Tyriele, and even her little sister cauldron, Guardian of the Alchemy Department of the Aurora Cloud Gate, Solara Skyshore.
These two cauldrons were such a wonder that Dalila and Tina always marveled, saying that they hadn’t come across a cauldron that overcame these two as long as they kept upgrading Tyriele. Dalila had even admitted that nearly half the reason for her success in creating ridiculous pills was thanks to Tyriele.
And indeed, Tyriele’s cauldron body had birthed the chaos-destruction pill and still didn’t shatter into millions of shards.
That alone spoke volumes about Tyriele’s innate grade.
Evidently, this forging master was a person with immense destiny like Clara.
Davis had thought about this person very rarely, and each time he did back in the First Haven World, it would bring him the shivers since it was likely that this person was a reincarnated immortal who had likely intentionally came into the World Master’s universe to do something, and by leaving those two cauldrons, he had left behind karma, eventually connecting to Saintess Lunaria and also Dalila or even himself.
After the events of the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm, he had long been careful about this matter, and Saintess Lunaria had also indicated this to him, so they had long sealed the two cauldrons karmically, making it difficult to trace it back.
’So that person finally made a move?’ Davis couldn’t help but wonder what kind of schemes this person had put in place and their intention.
Still, they really weren’t holding back anymore, ready to hunt him down after the seven-day period, were they?
Davis simply shrugged at Fairy Qiyra Darkstar, "No need to worry. I conversed with the Heavenly Blight Hall during the return journey. I got berated for not contacting them in the first few days. It’s my bad, but well, they’ll still help me make an escape. We’ll have to meet up with the First Dark Apostle if you don’t mind."
