Mingzhi and Zenova had a good discussion as the former first revealed her origin.

Zenova looked intrigued the whole time as she learned a lot about the modern world of Planet Earth while also learning about Mingzhi's father and his crimes. She finally looked as though she understood, "So the reason why our Emperor took on the name Mo Tian was actually him consoling you for killing your father?"

Back then, when she first met Davis, he went by the name Mo Tian, and people gave him the Title Saint Mo Tian.

"Maybe, I don't care other than him sharing the same name as mine at least once."

Mingzhi brought her hands up to her cheeks, appearing cute.

Zenova gazed at Mingzhi intently, her eyes then losing focus as though pondering for a bit.

She then said after some consideration, "After becoming an Empyrean and consolidating your Truesoul, you must've remembered your father in his full glory, his caring and attentive demeanor focused all on you despite his wicked nature when you were a child. Perhaps, this is also why you are unstable, the darkness in your soul trying to consume you."

"…" Mingzhi put her hands down and heaved a breath, "I'm not sure. Sure, I loved my father once, but those emotions are already buried when I thought I had been abandoned, only to later learn that he was killed by Tian Long, my secret sponsor in the orphanage, whom I always wanted to meet and developed a crush on over time- a sort of one-sided affection. Hence, when I wasn't able to find Tian Long and ask him why he killed my father, even though the answer was obvious since my investigations revealed he had been abused, I became heavily depressed."

"But after he came back as Davis, a cultivator that we mortals would've never dreamed of seeing one, I wanted him no matter what as I was intent on marrying him from a young age, even if I had to be a mistress in case he was already married since mistresses were commonplace in the modern world, but thinking now, perhaps it was a form of atonement for my father's crimes. I'm not stupid. When I turned into an adult, I inherited a vast amount of wealth from the syndicate because of Tian Long's arrangement and could trace it back to the Mo Consortium. When I saw the bank records and saw that it hadn't been used much, I already knew Tian Long hadn't killed my father for wealth. He left everything for me. Hence, my crush on him only grew further into something similar to that of an obsession."

Mingzhi's eyes glazed as she appeared fond of the old memories.

Zenova took a moment to understand before she nodded.

"I suppose this issue isn't treated fully. Fortunately, no Heart Demon has formed as far as I can tell since the Heart Intent or light-darkness physique has merged it with yours, leading to natural corruption that you will eventually consume you. Nonetheless, you must willingly bring out your Heart Demon and face it."

Mingzhi pouted, looking unsure.

She didn't feel like she had a problem with this matter since she had made her decision long ago.

"The underlying issue is that I can't control the impact of the emotions of others, leading to internal radicalization, which will eventually lead to taking extreme measures to deal with issues. I'm still alright, so it isn't like I'm going to go insane and explode. I'll deal with it sooner or later since Davis hasn't said anything about me. If he has confidence in me, why wouldn't I have confidence in myself?"

"…" Zenova's lips parted before she nodded, "I apologize. I overstepped my bounds."

"No, don't be. I appreciate you caring for me. It's a mark of being true sisters. I will be sure to tell others that you're starting to look after us like a big sister. Anyway, quick, tell me about your imperial father who shaped you into a beautiful monster."

Zenova's brows twitched, but looking at Mingzhi's excited expression, she took it as a compliment and conveyed her father's story.

The previous Emperor of the fallen Artoria Family in the Fifty-Two Territories, a person suspected to have comprehended Enigmatic Heart Laws, although it was unclear if he had reached Level One Obscure Intent, as he was still a mortal cultivator.

When she grew up, her imperial father always kept her by his side, not indulging her but imparting his values, skills, strategies, and techniques. She was also studious and smart, not to mention controlled both fire and lightning, leading her to become popular and even get close with a few siblings, but because of the favor shown by their imperial father, they eventually ostracized her after they became adults.

Why?

Because her imperial father merely said that the Artoria Family could be ruled by an Empress in the future at a national banquet, causing a tremendous uproar since the Artoria Family had always been Patriarchal.

This twist left Zenova dumbfounded, and she saw everyone she thought was close looking at her with expressions as though they were strangers. She could feel envy and jealousy from them, but also hate and scorn.
