Chapter 4858 A Glimpse of Malediction
Chapter 4858 A Glimpse of Malediction
Curse runes ignited across his flesh and became amplified by the strange mask he wore. Malediction energy burst forth, forming into a seed that materialized in his palm, which he clenched.
The curse detonated.
A sacrificial avatar in his image formed instantly, lunging forward to intercept the icy sword strike. The avatar froze solid the moment it made contact, curse inscriptions crystallizing into pale blue ice before collapsing into powder.
The backlash slammed into Accursed Warlock's true body, making him cough a mouthful of blood.
The remnant force of the sword light continued forward, carving a deep, frozen scar across the void where Accursed Warlock had stood moments earlier. Vile Enchanter escaped, and the Nether Devils also roared in anger and fear before they hurriedly threw themselves into the portal in a bid to escape, even using their fellow devils as a shield.
Accursed Warlock who took the hit reappeared several hundreds of kilometers away, robes in tatters, half his shoulder missing, frost gnawing at his soul like an incurable disease. His Level Six Alpha Exalt Stage cultivation dimmed, and his breathing was ragged.
"…You lunatic bitch," he hissed, his voice weak.
The Frostcloud Sword Empress stood motionless, blade lowered slightly, frost mist curling around her like a winter domain made manifest. She waved her sword, her lips curling.
"I'm aware this is a malicious illusion you injected into my strike, containing my Will and the sword's Will."
The sword she waved cut through the space, but instead of space, wretched dark layers of accursed reality were torn apart, revealing the true reality where the Accursed Warlock stood tall and unhurt while Vile Enchanter, who was supposed to have escaped magically, appeared beside him.
Accursed Warlock's eyes were wide, purple-crimson tendrils of malediction energy flailing around him like tentacles, "Where did you learn to be this careful of my Malediction Laws? Most who faced it didn't survive, and those who didn't face it would find it easily falling to it."
"I'm adept at dealing with curses and illusions, so a fusion of them isn't necessarily going to take me by surprise."
The Frostcloud Sword Empress softly answered.
Simultaneously, her senses fell on Myria as she was worried about her.
As expected, Myria had completely broken through to the Empyrean Stage, her cultivation on the verge of stabilizing already. It was so incredibly stable that she almost doubted if it was a yin-yang physique.
Myria calmly opened her eyes, staring in their direction. Her limpid eyes were clear and devoid of the evil that the Accursed Warlock carried as though it was second nature.
Seeing this scene, the Frostcloud Sword Empress relaxed ever so lightly, knowing Myria hadn't fallen prey to whatever the Accursed Warlock had thrown at her.
"…" Accursed Warlock also narrowed his eyes, unable to believe the trauma he had caused her, and the insane maleficent curse he imprinted on her didn't break her Will. As long as she was afraid of him the slightest, it would've opened a huge hole for him to exploit, but she withstood like she was the moon itself.
What was supposed to be a broken woman was now completely different- a true Saintess.
He clenched his fists, greatly abhorring the Divine Emperor of Death, but he also thanked him for making this even better than he expected.
"Time to leave." Myria waved her hand, flicking her sleeve as the reincarnation wheel dispersed before she turned around, descending toward Wix Voidfield, who was hidden in reality-bending illusion.
Only as she approached that area did the three villains discover their location when they had thought they had escaped in the midst of the battle.
Their eyes momentarily stopped on the beautiful pink-haired woman. Each strand of her hair floated and swayed gently as though she were in a body of water. It instantly garnered Vile Enchanter Kieran Hartley's interest as he could recognize that each strand of her hair was a great treasure, as though it were from a heavenly silkworm.
Karyot retreated first before Jaiyan, and the Frostcloud Sword Empress slowly made their way back.
The surviving beasts snarled, and Wicked Tamer Jaxon Harrow longingly looked at Wix Voidfield, his gaze not even on Jaiyan, who killed twelve of his True Exalt Beasts as though he had a large quantity of them waiting to be unleashed.
"My lovely-"
"Don't you worry, Fraser Herrion."
Accursed Warlock was about to say something when Myria's voice echoed. She paused mid-air and turned to look back, her gaze serene.
"I'll come for your head even if you don't want to do anything with me anymore."
Accursed Warlock Fraser Herrion chortled amusedly, "Hoho- I'm pleased to hear that. Fortunately, there's a saying that goes: the higher you climb, the harder you fall. When I capture you, I'll make sure to kill your entire family in front of you and drop you into the deepest abyss of despair. I'm quite positive the Eternal Life Soul is going to become more delicious for me to swallow and make me even more powerful, allowing me to enter the Omega Exalt Stage and establish a self-sustaining Godskull, making me the perfect being in the entire universe."
"You want to combine the two sides of the Exalt Path?" Myria's gaze flickered.
The others also looked at him with a fairly questionable gaze, wondering if he was right in the head.
Although the Divine Exalt Path had the Exalt Path as a base, it was not one and the same after introducing the Godskull. Up to date, there still wasn't a way for two of these paths to be practiced simultaneously, so if one wanted to become Alpha or Omega, they needed to forget about creating a Godskull and vice versa.
Even Wicked Tamer and Vile Enchanter shot him a questionable look.
"That was my previous plan back then, when I was an Empyrean. Now, I have a different flavor of improvement in mind which I will keep a secret…" The Accursed Warlock tapped his head with his finger, appearing smug and confident in obtaining her despite all that happened.
Myria's lips curled, "Even if you do gain my Eternal Life Soul, I hope your breakthrough collapses on itself. I will curse my own soul to make that happen."
She said, her words laced with venom more than hate.
"That sounds even more delicious." Accursed Warlock spread his hands as he shuddered, his voice echoing with extreme fervor, "A desperate and accursed Eternal Life Soul is just the resource I want for my Law comprehension to reach past into the level of divinities."
"…"
Myria's bosoms heaved, barely suppressing herself from tearing him apart in her mind.
In the end, she knew Accursed Warlock still held the upper hand.
