Chapter 4487: Shaking The Seal
Chapter 4487: Shaking The Seal
Schleya unleashed a barrage of rapid slashes, each one faster and heavier than the last, her twin blades striking Clara’s golden barrier with brutal precision. Each one was aimed at a weak point.
But no matter how many times she struck, the barrier held firm, pulsing with dense sealing energy as if mocking her efforts. Sparks flew, illuminating the tension between them.
“Break!” Schleya yelled, her blood essence burning faster, causing her aura to flare crimson around her.
But Clara remained unfazed, her eyes shining with serene purple light, her voice calm and cold.
“You can’t break the heavens with mere bloodlust,” She stated, exhaling a breath of cold air.
She raised her hand lightly, and the barrier expanded lightly, pushing Schleya back a few steps.
But Schleya instantly took out a blood vial and slashed it, causing the blood inside to drip on her crimson blade.
Clara’s eyes went wide.
Without missing a beat, Schleya closed in like a specter, her twin blades slashing out at her barrier, piercing through it like it was nothing but a curtain.
Clara saw it coming and retreated, barely having her sleeves ripped.
“Back then, when I shielded Ellia from you, I also got your blood. I had meant it to suppress you when you went out of control, but to think I would need to use it in this kind of situation. Don’t blame me for being ruthless.”
Schleya walked around Clara before she rushed in from the side, causing Clara to go on the defensive.
Clara narrowed her eyes. Schleya’s Blood Laws and Affliction Laws were too tricky to deal with.
Meanwhile, Rokushi Mirai became a phantom shadow, materializing in front of Faruja and Thalor and blocking their path, her dark fangs extending from her fingers as she used a snake style to battle while her legs produced weaving black tendrils that lashed out at them.
Her undulation was at the Level Seven Empyrean Stage, her prowess nine levels higher.
The Heaven’s Warriors were not a match for her. Her aura of darkness suppressed the entire temple, choking the other Heaven’s Warriors and pinning them to their positions.
Faruja let out a cold hiss, her blade flickering with ethereal golden flames as she tried to burn the dark tendrils.
“Wretched Divergent!” she roared, “Don’t think you can withstand my Heavenly Solarflare Physique’s flames.”
“It’s useless,” Rokushi Mirai intoned, her voice echoing like a death knell, “Your flame is nothing before the dark abyss.”
From the other side, Thalor emerged. He roared, summoning branches of wood around his body, blasting them outward in a desperate attempt to break free from the suffocating darkness.
But Rokushi Mirai merely giggled, her form shifting like smoke to evade his strikes.
Thalor’s expression sank. His strong and powerful Heavenly Physique also appeared to be useless in this case. They couldn’t counter her. If they could, at least they would still be able to struggle against her even if her prowess was a minor stage higher than them.
No matter what kind of attack they threw at her, Rokushi Mirai kept them suppressed. Her cultivation and prowess simply outclassed them.
High above, Vereina streaked through the air like a meteor, her aura seething with hatred and hunger. She landed before the bound and weakened Lilliana Rayton, whose mocking smile still lingered on her lips despite her sealed state.
“I’ll devour your soul this time,” Vereina whispered, her voice trembling with rage as her hands glowed with eerie soul-devouring light, three heads appearing above her.
“Oh?” Lilliana Rayton became curious at the difference in their physiques.
“This is…!” The Heaven’s Warriors finally noticed, recognizing a semblance of the Violent Punitive Soul Physique.
Still, Lilliana Rayton let out a dark chuckle, her voice weakened yet poisonous, “Do you think you can consume me? Even bound, I will curse you into oblivion.”
“Try it, bitch,”
Vereina hissed, placing her palm on Lilliana’s forehead as tendrils of soul energy seeped into the seal, probing for a way in.
Below, Schleya continued to strike Clara, but with each clash, her power waned, her body trembling slightly as the sacrifice of blood essence took its toll, but not enough to cause her power to leave her body.
Clara’s barrier shifted seamlessly with every blow, always there, even if it broke every time.
“Stand still,” Clara declared, her Transcendent Truth Eyes shining with heaven’s decree, locking onto Schleya and freezing her momentum in an instant.
Schleya faltered for a moment, coming to a stop before she bit her tongue, inflicting damage to her own self and bursting with even more blood energy in order to break the power of the heaven and earth that trapped her.
Rokushi Mirai frowned, sensing Schleya faltering, and shifted her shadowy tendrils toward Clara to help suppress her. But just as the shadows reached for Clara, a black gleam sliced them apart, revealing Illumina stepping out from the mural with her nail wreathed in a spectral shadowlight.
“You won’t touch her,” Illumina said, her voice like ringing chimes, her black-white hair flowing as she took a stance before Clara.
“You-”
Rokushi Mirai yelled in annoyance. She only wanted to help suppress.
However, Illumina simply destroyed her attack. At the same time, she saw that Illumina carried a Primarch in her grasp. He was hanging like a heap of trash. There was simply no fight. Illumina had launched a sneak attack when Clara’s barrier broke for the first time, catching Primarch Yulan Nazarin off guard because he had moved to defend Clara.
He was instantly knocked out.
A Level One Primarch with a prowess that was three levels higher had no chance of battling Illumina in the first place.
“Aaaahhhh!!!~”
Above, Vereina felt a surge of resistance from Lilliana Rayton’s seal, the imprisoned demoness letting out a terrible scream as she tried to resist. But Vereina dug deeper, and the power of her devouring surged heavily, her eyes glinting with determination and madness.
It was as she expected. Since Lilliana Rayton could absorb her soul and try to break free from the seal, she could also perform the same feat, absorbing Lilliana Rayton’s soul while it was still sealed. There was no need to get Lilliana Rayton out since she wanted her dead. However, the seal was like a nail in the coffin, too difficult to flip open, and this made the devouring more difficult.
Moreover, this seal no longer had any minute openings since it was renewed.
“I will erase you from this world!” Vereina howled, her aura rising like a dark vortex.
Clara stopped to look above, her purple eyes glinting with a strange light.
The Heaven’s Warriors also came to a stop. They despaired, knowing that there was nothing they could do with an Exalt Beast with them. It was the worst news they could’ve ever encountered here since it meant the Divine Emperor of Death had an Exalt in his ranks.
Furthermore, this was an Emperor-Tier Exalt Beast.
They couldn’t fathom how this rabbit came about since the Divine Emperor of Death’s forces didn’t have any inclination of reaching the peak of the Empyrean Stage in terms of cultivation base. They didn’t know that this nether rabbit actually ate Exalt Stage Nether Devil corpses hunted with the help of the Nether Springs Death Wolf Clan.
“Illumina, strike the seal lightly in order to loosen it a bit. Don’t let the Soul Devouring Demoness escape.”
Schleya echoed. Her curved blade was before Clara’s neck, but she didn’t make the last move.
“Understood.”
“Stop!”
Illumina gathered an extremely minute wisp of energy over her sharp black nail. Paying no heed to the shout of the Heaven’s Warriors, she waved her hand, striking the seal with a slice of nether-darkness energy, causing the fountain of blood to rumble and Lilliana Rayton to regurgitate blood from all parts of her body.
“Aaah!!!”
Lilliana Rayton’s soul screamed like a wraith as it manifested outside. She was filled with pain, her ghostly figure materializing and blurring while it morphed into many demonic shapes, shapes that portrayed the countless souls she had devoured using dual cultivation.
“Got you!”
Vereina’s lips curled as she drooled. A demonic glint shone in her eyes as her physique screamed for her to devour this soul. The three heads behind her also smiled, cackling demoniacally. They latched onto Lilliana Rayton’s soul, which had barely gotten out from the seal, devouring it with full force.
