Chapter 4484: Clara's Mission
Chapter 4484: Clara’s Mission
Three-Headed Hydra Lower Realm, Voidshade Chasm, Whispering Rift, sixth level.
The darkness here was palpable and nightmarish, but a group of white-robed Transcendents made their way through. They also possessed a special type of aura that had a high resistance against evil lifeforms, so the darkness around them moved away from them.
They walked through the darkness rather easily, practically having no sense of caution. Or they were all confident.
“Heavenly Fairy, you can’t be like this. Even if the Divine Emperor of Death was your brother once, you are all no longer related. For the sake of the universe, you must end him.”
“Yes, the Supreme One, your master has entered a Covenant for the sake of our galaxy. When we Heaven’s Warriors should’ve died to vanquish evil, he saved us like a celestial son descending from the heavens. It is unknown what kind of calamities would’ve appeared if the Supreme One had not done such a thing. But many are not convinced, so the responsibility falls on the disciple to prove that their master’s decision was not wrong.”
Two Heaven’s Warriors spoke from behind while following the Heaven’s Warrior to the front. One was a woman, and the other was a man. They were also avatars, and their prowess levels were at the layer limit.
They addressed her respectfully, but their tone appeared to have some complaints.
The woman had flowing crimson hair tied into an elaborate braid that reached her waist, adorned with tiny silver clasps shaped like celestial stars. Her eyes were topaz, bright yet sharp like polished gems, and her elegant features carried the poised dignity of a seasoned warrior. Her white robe was embroidered with golden patterns resembling sunbursts, subtly indicating her affinity with flame and light attributes.
The man was broad-shouldered and towered a head taller than the others. His hair was dark green, combed neatly back, and his square jaw and firm brows gave him a stoic, dependable air. His white robe was lined with mossy green embroidery that hinted at earth and wood attributes, and his massive arms looked like they could shatter boulders barehanded. His aura radiated a calm steadiness, like an unyielding mountain.
Despite his brawny features, he appeared to have brains and spoke eloquently.
There were two more Heaven’s Warriors behind them, but they did not seem to rank higher within the echelon for them to speak. Only these two dared to say something to the Supreme One’s personal disciple.
The personal disciple came to a stop before turning to look at them with a cold gaze.
“Faruja and Thalor, it is best if you do not interfere with my actions.”
“…!”
Faruja and Thalor trembled. The former stepped forward, waving her hand, “You-”
“I don’t think I can do whatever I want just because I’m master’s disciple.”
Clara uttered lightly, turning around to continue floating, “Even without a master, I will still think this way. My brother is undoubtedly a scourge to the universe but innately harmful to none. Regardless of my relationship with the Divine Emperor of Death, he is the most sensible and kind person I have ever known. That’s why- I will not treat him as an evil entity but still seal him in the end, keeping his sealed vessel by my side so that his divergence will not affect the universe. Isn’t that why we are gathered today- to seal the evil Divergent, Lilliana Rayton?”
Her voice reverberated in the tunnels, causing Faruja and the others to take a deep breath.
“Yes,” Faruja answered, “Divergents, once sealed, do not cause a ripple in the movements of fate.”
“However, that isn’t an absolute. Some Divergents do manage to get out our seals and make the world worse again. We’re just delaying the inevitable at that point, so it’s always better to end them once and for all. Still, I agree the Divine Emperor of Death couldn’t be killed from what we heard so far, so sealing him is the best option, and that’s why we depend on you since your Sealing Laws are known to be the most effective, far more than using a Sealing Formation at the same level.”
“Indeed.” Thalor nodded, “Today, we are just accompanying you to help. Otherwise, your Sealing Laws is the one that is needed the most. However, how can we depend on you if you speak to the Divine Emperor of Death in an intimate manner? We understand that he is your brother, but that is no longer the case after you made your decision. We need you to be sensible and not fail at the last second due to the bond that you have not severed at heart.”
“Enough,” Clara coldly uttered, “If you wish to end him, do it yourself. I won’t stop you.”
“…”
Faruja and Thalor’s expressions sank. If they could do it, they would’ve already done it. The great Venerable Knights had failed, so how could they possibly accomplish anything? Still, they were not afraid. They were ready to give up their lives in a battle.
But there was a ceasefire at the moment, and Venerable Knight Lussandra stayed in the Whispering Wildlands Lower Realm to ensure that the ceasefire wasn’t broken.
They had never seen or heard of such a situation, an Anarchic Divergent managing to secure his stay in the realm.
Still, that was why they needed to rely on Clara. Not only could she get under the Divine Emperor of Death’s defenses, but she could also effectively seal him. If she could do it, why would they even need to continue with the ceasefire?
The only threat was that apocalyptic spirit, but they were confident that three or four Venerable Knights could end her.
The atmosphere turned silent, and they continued on until they reached the end of the seventh level, where the Whispering Rift was present. A vile aura poured from the other side, full of evil, and the stench of blood was nearly unbearable.
The Heaven’s Warriors frowned.
Clara stood in the front, finally opening her mouth, “My brother defeated seven Venerable Knights by himself. He reigns supreme in this layer right now, and only the master can defeat him. They share a Covenant, so they can’t move against each other, leaving the task of sealing him to me. I am aware of it, as you two have said. However, I’m not powerful yet. Even if I sealed my brother, his renowned chaos-destruction energy would destroy my seal, so we mustn’t make haste. I must become more powerful, and to that end, sealing this Divergent is nothing but a start.”
She took a step forward, entering the vortex clad in an evil aura without any fear whatsoever.
“Yes.”
Seeing this scene, Faruja and Thalor also answered and moved forward, following her into the rift.
