Chapter 4412: Retaliatory Move
Chapter 4412: Retaliatory Move
"Accursed Warlock…"
Davis uttered through his clenched teeth. He raised his hand, about to cleave Accursed Warlock's Will in Noraus Auraflame's soul into two.
Noraus Auraflame's expression was unsightly as he witnessed that the assassination was a failure. What was going on?
Wasn't the assassins from the World's End Temple supposed to be top-notch?
How come they were stopped by a mere immortal whom he had toyed with? He could see it was none other than Logan, whom he had tortured and thrashed. However, he suddenly noticed that his air was extremely different than before, and his prowess extraordinary.
Nonetheless, when he turned to look at Davis, he spat at him with a venomous gaze.
"Vile Divergent, don't you ever think this would be the last of it…"
Unfortunately, before Davis could even utter a word back to Accursed Warlock, Noraus Auraflame had already fainted.
"No, you don't fucking leave until I say so…!"
Davis smashed his palm against Noraus Auraflame's head. His iridescent reincarnation wheel sprang up behind him, trying to stop Accursed Warlock's Will from fading away.
"You-"
A furious echo came from the depths of nowhere. It was distant yet full of a malevolent aura. What tended to be malevolently attached now couldn't leave because there was some kind of forcefield that didn't let his Will disperse.
Accursed Warlock found himself remaining in this realm despite having started to disperse the moment he got caught. Normally, others would run from him, not wanting to be cursed by his malevolent touch, but the Divine Emperor of Death directly captured his Will and was not releasing it.
"You dare!?"
Accursed Warlock roared. Even as an extremely diluted blood essence that was mixed with an Emperor-Tier Fire Phoenix's blood essence, he was still an Exalt, and that allowed his Will to carry a tremendous power! His malevolent aura rose, filling the chamber and trying to sear Davis's hand with a malediction curse.
However, the moment he retaliated, everything went silent.
A giant hand descended from the void above, smashing Noraus Auraflame into the ground.
Davis barely managed to retreat in time.
However, seeing that this strange black-purple giant hand from the void was transparent and didn't even harm Noraus Auraflame, he was forced to think that this targeted Accursed Warlock alone.
But abruptly, he noticed the familiar aura that he had faced thrice.
"This… this is… the hand of the Celestial Transcendent…"
Davis shuddered ever so lightly, unable to believe what he was sensing.
At the same time this happened, in a strange location where the Accursed Warlock was chilling as he was relaxing on a sofa with his legs parked on a tea table, terrorizing the ordinary family before him to serve him, a giant black void ripped open above him.
"Uh…?"
He barely looked above when his scalp turned numb.
A giant purple-black hand smashed towards him, and it was even more powerful than the giant hand that was unleashed in the Third Layer.
*BOOOM!~*
The entire area mansion was smashed into dust while the people who weren't concerned strangely teleported away.
"Pui!~"
An arrow of blood spurted out from Accursed Warlock's mangled body as the coast cleared. However, despite receiving critical injuries, he didn't seem dead or despairing. Instead, he smiled crazily.
"That filthy soul-thieving bastard… he made me stay…"
Gnashing his teeth so much caused the surroundings to tremble and the space to quake. The hand from the Void Dimension had already faded, disappearing soon after it appeared. It dealt out the appropriate punishment and went away like it had never been there.
He slowly stood up, his body regenerating at a faster rate like he was a magical beast. The gaze in his eyes was still vicious, but it was filled with amusement and craziness.
"You're really testing my patience… just wait… when you ascend to the Second Layer, I'll hunt you down before the Heaven's Warriors could…" He coldly spat out, disappearing from this location.
If he remained, he figured even the Vile Enchanter and Wicked Tamer might make use of the opportunity to devour him.
Back in the Whispering Wildlands Peninsular, Noraus Auraflame woke up after some time had passed, becoming alarmed at the dozens of Empyrean level characters around him who suppressed him.
"What is this…!? Why am I being… held like this…? Please… let me go…"
He revealed a scared expression, his elegant and arrogant disposition nowhere to be seen.
By this time, the majority of the people had calmed down. They had just witnessed an attack from the Void Dimension through their own eyes. They never thought that they would see it, making them wonder if it was really an attack from the Void Dimension.
The Divine Emperor of Death said it belonged to the Celestial Transcendent, making them wonder if he could control the Void Dimension.
But if that were the case, then shouldn't the Celestial Transcendent be able to come down without having to suppress his cultivation base?
It didn't make sense to them. Even Grand Elder Terronoir Heavenshade and the Abandoned Immortal Lower Realm's Realm Master had no idea.
Davis coldly stared at the young genius, Noraus Zenflame. Although he knew this boy wasn't at fault, he almost blew up his daughter. The rage he felt couldn't be described, wanting to desecrate everything that wasn't his family here. No matter what, this teenager shouldn't be having an Immortal Emperor Grade Offensive Talisman, and he shouldn't be able to activate it either.
If he could do it, then it would've required a significant amount of energy.
He guessed that this energy came from the Emperor-Tier Blood Essence of the Fire Phoenix, which now should've been nearly emptied out. If he was right, Noraus Auraflame should lose his Emperor-Tier Blood in a few days or when he tires himself out, whichever was sooner.
"Divine Emperor of Death, this must be some kind of mistake…"
Suddenly, a meek yet courageous voice echoed from the seating area.
"Oh, mistake you say?" Davis turned to look at Warren Auraflame, his expression cold.
"I'm currently not sound in mind, so whatever you say might come back to bite you. Be careful with your words."
"…"
Realm Master Warren Auraflame nearly gulped audibly, but everyone could see the prominence in his throat moving.
"We have secretly tried to investigate the origins of Noraus Auraflame's Emperor-Tier Bloodline, but it came from an unknown source, although it was somehow found in one of our secret realms. I think… I think that blood has been cursed…"
"By whom?" Davis raised his brows, his eyes wide.
"…"
Realm Master Warren Auraflame paused. He knew that saying his title alone would let him know who was speaking about him and where. Such was the terrifying notion of malediction.
"Say it." Davis pressed.
"It might be as you said… it could be Accursed Warlock who terrorized the Lower Realms for countless millenniums in the past."
"Could be? It is him. Or are you saying you'll accept responsibility for nearly blowing up my daughter into bits and targeting my mother of all people in the seating area?"
Davis turned to look at his mother. She was just an Immortal King, so she could've been blown apart by the shockwaves alone. Fortunately, there was a barrier in the seating area additionally and Logan intercepted the assassin with lightning speed, killing him in one blow.
Realm Master Warren Auraflame was shaken. He quickly shook his head, "The Auraflame Clan will do their best to give some answers and compensation, but we aren't responsible. I swear. If you aren't convinced... I will agree to a soulsearch if it will spare my clan. I will not resist."
"…"
Davis momentarily turned speechless. He had his Heart Intent active, so it didn't seem like that was said to make him think otherwise.
