Chapter 4287 Meeting Point
Chapter 4287 Meeting Point
"I'd poison him and cut off that place."
"Ahahaha~"
Evelynn burst out laughing. She held her mouth and lowered her head, trying not to appear unsightly, but the others could only see her quaking bosoms. It really was unfair.
Katherine couldn't help but want to claw her own non-existent bosoms for even existing in the first place.
"You could be like this all the time." Myria asked while looking amused, "Why are you restraining yourself? No sister will dare to disrespect you."
"Yes, yes." Tia echoed, "Big sister is big sister. Disrespecting her is equivalent to disrespecting husband."
"It's not them." Evelynn turned to look at Tia and shook her head before returning her gaze, "This isn't the real me either. This is me just getting some air and trying to befriend you more, Myria. What I am is what Davis wants to see: elegant, refined, and classy. This had been me ever since I was the Young Mistress of the Cauldon Family and became the real me after I married Davis. I find it more comfortable than what I'm doing now, but I couldn't be doing it forever, so this is just a change of pace. I'll be back to looking elegant yet menacing. Don't tell him I said all these though~"
She giggled, looking quite sly.
"…"
Myria smilingly shook her head, "There's no need for you to do all this in order to befriend me."
"But you're the one who is truly difficult to get to talk to. Unless I push you like this, I don't think you will be willing to talk."
"…"
Myria looked speechless, but she had no retort since that was true. She rarely gossiped and only opened her mouth when there was a need to explain something or plan something.
"Alright, you win, big sister."
Myria smiled brightly, "As you wish, I will talk more and get to know you more this time around."
"Perfect~"
Evelynn's smile also grew bright.
With this, she was sure that their family could become more harmonious. To her, gaining Myria's trust was very important since she knew Davis and Myria were inseparable because of their souls.
Myria may have said that she had wanted to be her love's first love, but Evelynn had also wanted to be connected to Davis at a deeper level like the soul. She hadn't revealed it, though.
'Wait… am I still doing big sister activities even after coming here…?'
Evelynn blinked. It seemed likes she couldn't escape that position even if she wanted to. She naturally thought in that way, trying to make everyone fit and become comfortable. However, she couldn't remember having been so talkative other than to Myria, making her realize how much she wanted to befriend her.
Nonetheless, she kept the conversation going, asking Myria about endless scenarios, not giving up even if she was embarrassed to answer.
Myria nearly hinted that she could be Davis's mother but barely stopped herself. It almost gave her a heart attack as she didn't realize what she was talking about during the flow of the conversation. Even Tia joined them and she spilled out her maiden heart that ached for Davis's affection from the time when she was saved by him as he faced a heavenly tribulation for her.
Both Evelynn and Myria admitted that even their heartstrings would be tugged if a man saved them from a heavenly tribulation while they were little and innocent.
"It should be around here…"
As they made their way, Kalissa finally pointed to a meeting point. It was near a secluded valley. The forest was still thick, and the area was foggy. However, the dangers were also equally high.
Only, they were too powerful, so any magical beast that came their way turned tail and retreated without growling even the slightest bit wildly. With Katherine by their side, they openly invaded so many magical beast territories without receiving the consequences, not that it would do anything to them other than being an inconvenience.
At this moment, the area turned silent.
Katherine narrowed her brows, "Bandits… so annoying…"
She was about to raise her hand and display her aura. However, Kalissa reacted.
"No, no. They're the people from our clan who will come fetch us."
*Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~* *Whoosh!~*
Around twelve shadowy figures emerged from the thick fog. They moved with eerie silence and even used their hands, climbing and descending the trees like a spider would. Their dark robes blended into the mist, adorned with intricate patterns resembling spider webs. Some didn't even have a shirt on, exposing half their upper bodies.
Two of them wore masks that bore the resemblance of a wrathful arachnid, complete with four hollowed-eye sockets.
"Infamous bandits of the Venomfang Arachnid Clan…"
Kalissa bit her lips. They were famous around this area, but in truth, they were also ferries for the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan. They remained here, choosing to wait for people like her to return so that they could be taken to their hideout.
"I remember you. You're Kalissa. You were a small girl when you left…"
One of the two bandits who wore a mask spoke with some surprise. He removed his mask, revealing his hideous face that was filled with scars. His aura was that of a Level One Empyrean, but it was denser, so his prowess could be one or two levels higher.
Kalissa couldn't tell easily since the higher the cultivation base, the more difficult it would be to see through. Still, it seemed like he was a battle-hardened veteran in service to the Three-Eyed Chromatic Hex Arachnid Clan, making her heave a sigh of relief.
"Greetings, Elder. I've come with the clan's hope."
"Oh?"
That elder cast his gaze on Fahzi, "A royal-blooded figure, I take it? You came at a good time. The succession ceremony for the Patriarch position is taking place."
"What?" Kalissa looked shocked, "But Fahzi hasn't even entered the competition."
"We sent word for you to return, but you took your time, didn't you?"
"That-"
Kalissa had no words. She could not leave since Evelynn kept them grounded for their own safety. Still, she shook her head.
"Never mind the competition. I brought the true hope of our clan!"
Kalissa restated and then turned around to look at Evelynn, whose aura was absolutely concealed to the fullest. One couldn't even tell she was an Immortal Emperor just by looking. Even Katherine was capable of concealing her aura very well.
The Davis Family even taught their children that keeping their aura in check was one of the foremost abilities to keep an edge.
"…"
The bandits looked unimpressed until they suddenly went still. The masked elder opened his mouth, his lips trembling.
"Those eyes… doesn't she look like that statue…?"
"I… I guess so… but no way… she doesn't even have a third ey-!"
Evelynn's third eye split open at this moment, gazing at them with a crimson light.
"Hexena Xylusc is the name of the statue, isn't it?"
Evelynn's voice calmly echoed, causing the bandits to tremble.
"Empress!"
The bandits instantly went on their knees while their heads smashed towards the ground.
