Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 3406 Cosmic Horror

Chapter 3406 Cosmic Horror

Davis watched as the Voidslime Realm Eater's roar made the space around it appear like it was going to melt with how distorted it looked. Its roar reverberated throughout the mini-realm as though its voice infused within space and resounded out in all directions as though it was in an echo chamber.

It caused the fleeing Immortal Kings to pass out in their tracks.

A defensive artifact flew over Xerax, protecting him from the spatial sound echo, and the inheritors and Immortal Emperors seemed to be barely able to retain their consciousness as they quickly tried to flee. As they fled, they were roaring about who attacked the Voidslime Realm Eater and cursed that person to death.

Davis couldn't help but laugh ever so lightly as he saw their miserable figures.

Obviously, it was he who caused the explosion, but they were never going to find it unless he revealed himself. After all, it was an explosion caused by a fire-attributed Mid-Level Immortal Emperor Grade Offensive Talisman. He had a few of it from treasure hunting back in the Astral Forgeheart Minor Realm.

Even when he used fire and lightning to propel himself away from the Voidslime Realm Eater a while ago, its spatial body ate the remnant aura of his energy, so there was no way they could tell if he was here, even if they suspected something or someone brought this spatial monstrosity here.

Nonetheless, as he saw the wiggling Voidslime Realm Eater devour the fallen Immortal Kings in one fell gulp before continuing to chase after them, even he got the chills.

It was now like a cosmic horror and wouldn't stop until it devoured every living thing present here.

He took much joy in knowing these rats would die, but ahead of them were a bunch of cities and possibly the citizens of the Cyan Soul Rat Clan. Even though they were part of the clan, they were the bottom dreg and mostly innocent people, not that he could vouch for them, as the clan itself seemed to take pride in deception. It could be the covert primary method of having a successful growth for all he knew.

Regardless of what he may think, they were not fully related to his revenge, and it seemed like he would have to watch them get devoured by the spatial monstrosity, making his complacent expression sink.

'Half an hour… if anyone else than the higher-ups survive this half an hour… I'll save them…'

Davis inwardly told himself.

He didn't move from his spot and sat down as he didn't wish to see the carnage that he unleashed.

If he hadn't unleashed the explosion, it was possible that they would've been devoured by the Voidslime Realm Eater much later, as it could take weeks or months for the Voidslime Realm Eater to consume this mini realm. Moreover, they would've had a chance to escape if this sealed realm could be opened sooner.

But now, he forcefully took away that option from them.

"Fuck it! These are my actions, and I should see with my own eyes to know what kind of an evil entity I am— to what lengths I would go to ensure that my family would never have to face danger!"

Davis slapped his thighs and stood up, moving towards the terrifying spatial undulations of the Voidslime Realm Eater. Even after five minutes, it was still going berserk.

Davis knew that being merciful to enemies was being ruthless to oneself and one's own family.

After all, everything was interconnected, and karma was a bitch.

Even if the Cyan Soul Rat Clan was helpless, if they could act pitifully and get help from their higher-tiered species in the true immortal world, that would also be bringing a calamity, no different than harming oneself.

The cultivation world was ruthless. He had seen time and time again that if he beat up one person, their father, their grandfather, and their ancestor would come to pick a fight with him. It was only his Anarchic Divergent status that made people look the other way around. They didn't want to get involved with a calamity if they didn't have enough power, so if he was powerful enough, most tended to look the other way.

However, if they were too powerful, then they would definitely come for the kill.

The same went for the so-called innocents of a faction. Even if he tried to let them go, they would only think he was scared of them.

The concept of being merciful wasn't the first thing that came to mind in people's minds when they were spared. It was that they were the stronger party and, hence, were let go of.

He had seen this first hand when he killed the Vast Sky Emperor in the Grand Beginnings Continent, and his people started mocking him when he said that he was defeated. That was why he knew unrelated people weren't innocent at all.

If they had the chance, they would put an end to him, too, with a snap of a finger.

Arriving before a city- no, of what appeared to be a city that seemed to have been hit by a crater- no, swallowed by Voidslime Realm Eater, he saw that nothing was left.

A city that was a few thousand kilometers wide had most of its ground swept clean while some parts seemed to have been gulped by the Voidslime Realm Eater.

There was not a single life left. The aura of death wasn't present here either.

Why? Because every single one of those lives was devoured by the Voidslime Realm Eater's gelatinous spatial body. It was a thorough massacre.

Funnily enough, he could sense the aura of Xerax, the inheritors, and all the other Immortal Emperors heading in different directions. They had decisively chosen to sacrifice this city to the Voidslime Realm Eater so that they could survive.

However, Davis could trace the aura of distorting space moving toward another city. He guessed that the Voidslime Realm Eater probably wanted to clear the mini realm of lives before starting to consume. He felt that it was typical of it, considering it could've killed the people in that abandoned mini realm as he did find vague auras on a few rock mountains nearby when he slept with Fiora, probably from energy inflicted during training sessions.

Davis followed the Voidslime Realm Eater to another city as he expected. He was just in time to see it pounce on the city from above like it was diving. The grand defensive formation of the city was activated, but it seeped through like it was water and landed near the center.

"Ahhhhhh!!!"

"No! Save me!"

"Save my child!"

Screams of terror echoed throughout the city.

Davis could see people trying to escape in droves, some fleeing with their children.

There were as many as a million people present in this city. It was not much considering the population of a historical faction, but still a lot, considering they could all possess Cyan Soul Rat's blood, no matter how impure it may be.

However, the Voidslime Realm Eater was horrifyingly unapologetic in its swallowing tendencies. Just like before, its body inflated like a balloon, its terrifying speed engulfing everyone caught within its abyssal embrace to disappear like they were never there before.

Their screams were muffled within its gigantic embrace.

Just maintaining a height of a hundred meters allowed its giant body to expand throughout the surface. Its length and width expanded at a rapid rate, crossing the four-thousand-meter mark in an instant. In the next two seconds, it reached twelve thousand meters at the same time.

But since the height only reached a hundred meters, some tried escaping into the skies.

However, countless starry tentacles erupted from its body as it reached out to them. Once they were caught within the hundreds and thousands of spatial tendrils, it brought them back into its giant body, consuming them like they were nothing.

The city walls weren't affected, but within the city, it spread out its gelatinous spatial body all the way around as though it was a spatial sea. A few lucky ones who were already at the city walls managed to escape, but the ones within the city were all consumed without a doubt.

Just like that, the second city was eradicated, and around a million people ended up being preyed on.

Davis could only blink at this scene.

The Voidslime Realm Eater continued to remain within the city as though digesting its gain, but Davis could sense its spatial undulations that were searching for life.

It was probably planning to go towards the place with more life, and Davis had no doubt that the third city would fall within the next ten minutes as soon as it finished digesting all the people, buildings, and treasures it devoured.

At this rate, no one would survive.

He felt like he shouldn't let it go towards the third city as he imagined there was only one or two more left, judging from the distant auras of the city barriers he could sense, causing him to clench his teeth and go find his targets who had escaped.

Davis left a soul body here to watch the Voidslime Realm Eater in case of emergencies and went to find those bastards.
