Chapter 2171: Loss Of Time
Chapter 2171: Loss Of Time
“…”
Valley Master Jade Aurora was here for a few months already before Davis came, but in truth, her body was here for many years, about ninety years to be exact. She lost a lot of her lifespan, and although her perception didn’t pick it up, her body did go through the passage of time and comprehended many insights into Time Laws.
For comprehending and learning other Laws, perhaps, it would conform to the normal perception, so that’s why no one came here to train, thinking of spending more time here as it would take a lot of time while still giving them normal progression.
Nonetheless, Valley Master Jade Aurora went from comprehending Elementary Intent to Level Six Intent, clearly talented in Time Laws. After all, it wasn’t possible to reach such a height with just that resource, but she had done it while only occupying half the pond that was filled with the essence of time.
Like her, Davis had also lost many years, thirty-two years to be exact. Now his bone age was almost sixty years old, to his shock, making him blink his eyes.
‘Fuck! Comprehending Time Laws isn’t a joke…’
He inwardly cursed, not knowing how to describe his age anymore. Was he sixty years old as Tian Long? Was he almost twenty-nine years old as Davis? Or was he sixty years old as Davis and ninety years old as Tian Long?
He thought losing a bit of lifespan was a small matter, but only after he went through it did he feel some pain in his heart. He was no longer young in his mind anymore, although a ninety-year-old could still be said to be a youth in the cultivator world.
However, comprehending Time Laws to Level One Intent in these fast-moving thirty-two years was a good trade-off, or so he felt.
‘To comprehend time… one must experience the passage of time to a deep level… but the danger of it is losing lifespan… no wonder Ellia said that using Time Laws is difficult, although I still feel that it might’ve been for another reason…’
Davis turned to look at Valley Master Jade Aurora, simultaneously noticing that time moved at a different rate for them while comprehending even though they were in the same space. Perhaps, the more they peeked into Time Laws, the more it would affect them, like the sayings of the abyss.
Abruptly, he moved and flicked his two fingers, their tips turning into a sharp edge as it made its way to Valley Master Jade Aurora. She was caught off-guard, but despite that, time seemed to slow down ever so slightly as she moved away from him.
Davis’s pupils consequently dilated as he saw her moving extremely faster than what she should be capable of for her cultivation and prowess. However, his piercing fingers cut through the space she was in, quickly returning the slowed time back to normal. But at the same time, Valley Master Jade Aurora unleashed a palm at him from the side, causing Davis to quickly use Time Laws.
He could feel his surroundings quickly becoming shrouded in a grayish layer ever so lightly. In this tiny space, he controlled time, able to hasten it or make it slow. However, as Valley Master Jade Aurora’s palm unleashed with a grand tidal wave appeared before him, it broke apart his layer of time like a thin layer of glass and struck the back of his hand while he blocked her palm technique.
*Bang!~*
“I see. Time doesn’t hold up to attacks very well, quickly breaking down upon impact and hence isn’t useful in hair-raising battles.”
“It seems like it.”
Both Davis and Valley Master Jade Aurora frowned, unable to believe that Level One Intent and Level Six Intent would only result in minute differences. Even her usage of Time Laws with Level Six Intent easily shattered when struck by Davis’s two fingers, and he didn’t even seem to be using much energy to power that strike, unlike her, and yet, both of their layers shattered at a similar time and frequency when their layer of time was disrupted.
‘Is this why Ellia said that using Time Laws was difficult? But she said it was difficult, which made me assume that it could be difficult using Time Laws in this world, meaning that another thing should still be at play…’
Davis pursed his lips as he contemplated while Valley Master Jade Aurora also seemed to not take offense over his sudden attack and began to ponder why Time Laws were so fragile that they couldn’t even stand up to an ordinary attack.
Considering that she was at Peak-Level Law Rune Stage and possessed Magnificent Rune from Water Laws, she was at least strong as a fifth level Ninth Stage Powerhouse, and yet Davis’s two fingers that seemingly had no energy, perhaps, even suppressed to not harm her had destroyed her layer of time she cast.
However, no matter how she contemplated, she couldn’t arrive at an answer and naturally felt that her coating of time in space was inferior to Davis’s pure bodily strength while Davis didn’t think so.
“Are you sure that you don’t want the loot I gained there?”
Feeling that Davis’s potential was immense, Valley Master Jade Aurora couldn’t help but ask again even though she knew the answer, and as expected, Davis simply shook his head.
“Sigh, I wonder when I would gain the luxury to reject such treasures?”
“Sure you can, as long as you keep yourself alive and steadily tread in your cultivation path.”
“Or, become yours.”
“…”
A sudden silence filled the atmosphere, causing Valley Master Jade Aurora to wryly smile.
“I’m just kidding. I’m too old and talentless for you.”
It wasn’t a lie but what she truly felt, feeling complex over officially having crossed a thousand years old in the Alternating Time Flow Valley. However, Davis didn’t seem to be amused.
“You seemed to have forgotten that I intend to marry Sect Master Lea Weiss, who is more than five times older than you if I’m right. Besides, talents can be nurtured and forced out as long as one has unique or heavenly resources. My wives and I are proof of that. However, if you still think that you’re unworthy, then it’s your personal problem.”
Valley Master Jade Aurora couldn’t help but blink her eyes, shaking her head.
“You seemed to have misunderstood me. I said that I was unworthy of you. Not anyone else. After all, a supreme genius like Ivy said that you are stronger than her and could kill her anytime you wanted that the Guardian Lotus wouldn’t stand a chance at protecting her.”
Davis was flabbergasted. That little girl accepted that she wouldn’t stand a chance against him?
“That’s why in my eyes, calling you a supreme genius is an understatement.”
“…”
Davis’s sapphire eyes stared at Valley Master Jade Aurora. He could find no trace of trying to win favor from him, but rather, that was what she really thought, making him feel a bit ashamed.
“If Valley Master Jade Aurora praises me too much, I might blush…”
“That would be an unforgettable memory as well.”
“…”
Davis became speechless again while looking at her, still staring at him with a gaze he all too knew well. However, he looked away, thinking.
‘What’s unforgettable is you staring at my naked figure like you’re unbothered…’
Davis felt strange. This woman was too good to be true, fulfilling all the personality traits he required from a lover. Moreover, she also seemed to have the hots for him if she was talking and looking at him like that, but he couldn’t tell if she viewed him like a junior and benefactor, treating him with care without reserve.
He didn’t want to make a mistake with such a kind woman, nor did he feel like making a move as he was already busy. However, the fact that he could lay a hand on her and there wasn’t anything to stop him was beguiling by itself. Moreover, when it seemed like there could be a chance that she would accept him if he would just make his move, it was nothing short of irresistible.
He turned to look at her, wanting to confirm if she was joking or not, when suddenly a voice echoed by his side.
“Look at you two flirting as though no one is present.”
Both Davis and Valley Master Jade Aurora flinched as though they were caught, their hearts seemingly skipping a beat. However, Davis recognized this voice as he turned around, his expression becoming annoyed as he looked at the icy-blue-robed, white-haired beauty who occasionally made him feel inferior with her over-encompassing knowledge.
“Myria. What have you come here for?”
“Did you think I came here looking for you?” Myria raised her brows as she smirked, “Arrogant as usual. If it isn’t obvious, I tracked down this massive formation’s anomalies to this location.”
“What!?”
Davis widened his eyes as he recognized this was a grave matter that could slightly hold the possibility to be a way out of the calamity.
