Chapter 362 - (EDT) Duranium (2)
"Huh... Huh..." everyone inside this meeting room would have collapsed if the second piece of crystal had been retrieved ten seconds later. Even after the crystal was removed, the feeling lingering around the atmosphere was still deadly enough to keep their hearts beating fiercely.
And from the comprehensive report coming in through Zhang Qin Feng's Luna Device, a total of sixteen crews fell unconscious from the feeling of despair besieged them.
It took Victor and the others a whole minute to calm themselves down. The torture could be still seen from the amount of sweat that appeared on their back.
"Miria, Miriam, are both of you alright?" Zhang Qin Feng gives them a soft pinch on their face to see if they're still conscious. Although it hardly works to alleviate their heightened sense of danger, it could at least tell Zhang Qin Feng that they're fine.
"What is that thing just now, Feng?" Valerian's hand is still shaking. But she still braved herself to ask Zhang Qin Feng about the identity of that two terrorizing crystals in his hand.
"Bang! Bang! Bang! Boss! Victor! Valerian! Girls!" Marvin was banging on the door for their attention.
"Should we get someone to take the door apart?" Hoya's voice followed after Marvin's. Evidently, he was nearby or onboard of the Vermilion Empress by the time Zhang Qin Feng returned.
'Open the door, Stein.' Zhang Qin Feng mentally communicated with Stein to control the door remotely. It would be best to let them come in right away before they really took the door down due to the sudden adrenaline rushing into their head.
"Eh!" the opened door revealed the two perplexed individuals with a battering ram in their hand. Looks like the door managed to escape the fate of getting destroyed due to Zhang Qin Feng's quick response.
"Come in and close the door." Zhang Qin Feng said.
"Also... Get the people over to the medical quarters. They should be waking up in a bit." Zhang Qin Feng added before he shifted his attention to Valerian.
"Are you alright?" Zhang Qin Feng grabbed her shaking hands. As she was a complete greenhorn in fighting against the zombies, it was understandable that she had no idea what feeling this was. At the very least, Miria and Miriam encountered the zombies and Tyrants a few times before they were taken into Wind Base by Satella.
"I'm - I'm fine..." Valerian stuttered.
"Boss, what happened earlier?" Victor asked. As for Hoya-2231, he remained quiet because his status in this room is nowhere as significant as the few core members of Wind Base Group here. For him to be allowed inside is already counted as a grace.
"What do you think about this?" Zhang Qin Feng took the brownish Duranium Crystal out from his inner pocket before tossing it over to Marvin.
It seems that the threatening atmosphere was inexistent when there's only one Duranium Crystal out in the open. But without explanation needed, Zhang Qin Feng knew that everything would be different when there were two.
"The hell... Have you ever seen a Duranium Shard of this size?" Marvin asked both Victor and Hoya for their opinion. And evidently, both of them were as blank as Marvin himself.
But instead, Valerian had a different opinion.
"Feng, are you thinking of bringing this shard into the research facility?" Valerian seems to notice something nobody had a clue about. Perhaps, this is because of her knowledge as a researcher.
"Yes. Is there a problem with this idea?" Zhang Qin Feng nodded and released his grip slightly. Of course, it's because Valerian might have something to say to everyone here. Their public display of attention is not what makes Zhang Qin Feng loosen his hand around Valerian.
"Miria, Miriam. Come here." Satella called both of them to come to her side. And it seems she's yet to finish with her words.
"Boys... If you have a Duranium Shard, bring it out and put it near that piece of brown crystal." Satella added before hiding herself under the meeting table.
'The hell? Is the thing is going to explode or what?' Zhang Qin Feng is somewhat worried if the Duranium Shard is going to turn into something weird. But at the same time, they could not suppress their excitement.
Marvin, Victor, and Zhang Qin Feng immediately took a Duranium Shard out from their pocket and slowly approached the brownish Duranium Crystal. In the distance of over two meters away, there's no reaction or whatsoever.
When the shard and crystal's distance was about a meter close, the fragment between their fingers got hotter. It was like the Duranium Shard was getting heated internally.
At half a meter mark, the heat vanishes before being replaced by a hint of vibration instead. Although the feeling was similar to a phone vibrating in your hand, everything felt differently when the quivering intent was focused between the thumb and index finger.
A quarter meter more, the intent vanished entirely. Before Zhang Qin Feng and the others knew it, the Duranium Shard in their finger was absorbed onto the brownish crystal like the suction of a magnet.
But weirdly, only the energy within the shard was sucked away. The remaining body seems to turn into dust as it was ingested into the Duranium Crystal.
"Phew... This made me feel the suspense for a while there like it was going to explode or something. You're overreacted, Valerian." Victor chuckled when he noticed how the dust scattered inside the meeting room.
"Alright, the three of you. Come out from under the table. Nothing is happening." Zhang Qin Feng stretched his hand down to try and grab Valerian's arm.
"It was delayed," she whispered.
"Delayed?" Zhang Qin Feng's attention immediately returned to the Duranium Crystal on the table. Even Stein could not withhold the information where a hint of the shockwave is spreading all over the crystal's surface.
"Boy! Brace for the fucking..." Zhang Qin Feng tried to finish what he was going to say, but the shockwave, comparable to a few grenades, burst out faster than his words.
Marvin, Victor, Hoya, and Zhang Qin Feng himself slammed into the four corners of the room from the detonation.. It seems that the room is still unable to escape the fact of getting destroyed.
