Chapter 285 - Immigrants (1)
"Six to seven phases? What are you trying to build here, boss?" the developer was a little excited and overwhelmed by what Zhang Qin Feng just said. For the current phase itself, his profit from this project alone is five million Dongcheng Dollars.
But what if he could get half of the upcoming projects? Based on the prices and demand, the profit he could get into his company won't be lesser than thirty to fifty million Dongcheng Dollars from this.
Of course, the pre-requisite for this is to get this person's favor to get the opportunity to handle the building project.
"Would you believe me if I say that I'd like to expand the island and add artificial land into this country?" Zhang Qin Feng sounded like he was joking. But only he knew that something like this was possible to him.
To the others, such a project was not impossible. But there's no doubt that the cost itself would reach an exorbitant price. Perhaps not a single country in this world would consider this option, just for the sake of expanding the landmass the country controlled by a few kilometers square.
Even a group like the Jun's Conglomerate would find this project akin to dumping salt into the seawater. It was an attempt that almost had no future. The group's income was threefold the revenue of the Democratic Country of Marianna, but it still finds this idea absurd.
(Dumping salt into the sea was an idiom from the east, which translated to an act of putting effort into something that isn't worth the effort.)
And even if the neighboring country were giving them the soil for free, the cost of transportation and dumping alone would cripple Marianna's economy in less than half a year.
"Boss, please don't joke with me... Making an artificial island is something even the Oceana Alliance would find challenging. A small company like mine would be overwhelmed straight away by the project before we start." the developer said.
"Well, since I would bring this matter up, I'll have the solution method for sure. Keep up for the second phase of the project. By the time you're almost done with it, you'll notice that you're ready for the third phase." Zhang Qin Feng smiled and gave the developer's shoulder a pat.
"By the way... You should consider a partnership if you want to keep enjoying the benefit of using the Builder's Frame in your development projects. Make sure you don't damage them as they cost about 25 million Dongcheng Dollars each." Zhang Qin Feng chuckled before he left the site on his car.
The word "25 million Dongcheng Dollars each" almost pulled him down on the ground. Looking at the 20 units here, that means Zhang Qin Feng literally invested around half a billion Dongcheng Dollars for the first phase of this development alone.
"How... How rich is this guy? How come I didn't hear about him at all?" the developer asked.
...
...
Zhang Qin Feng's mind was thinking about what he should focus on in his second development project. With the Sanctuary is expected to complete in the next one to two weeks, that was all the time he had to plan about what's next.
First of all, the same Sanctuary project must be developed in the City of Anna. The reason for this is to fulfill his promise to the specialist in the healthcare division. Of course, this was just a tiny part of his phase 2 project.
What Zhang Qin Feng is skeptical about is the size of the Sanctuary in the City of Anna. He could either choose to develop a similar-sized Sanctuary in Anna, or a slightly bigger one, to reduce the workload on his phase 3 project.
Currently, the Sanctuary here in the City of Mari could accommodate over 1,000 families. It is expected to be capable of accomodating almost all of the specialists from the healthcare division in Mari, with excess units still available for others.
If Zhang Qin Feng were to expand the size of the Sanctuary in Anna, then it would be two times bigger than the current Sanctuary.
But focusing all the manpower in completing the residential area wasn't his priority. Because in Zhang Qin Feng's phase 2 project, the Military Training Facility, seaport, and the airport were his main concerns.
He cannot rely on the existing port for all the material imports. Furthermore, the country's revenue would decrease unless the island has an excellent international airport to receive tourists.
But it's not like he can ignore the residence and city development. It would be pointless to get them here without ample facilities for tourists to stay and spend their money.
All and all, everything was essential.
This made Zhang Qin Feng feel the pressure of not having enough manpower again like he encountered in the post-apocalypse. And to make it worst, the concept was different between here and the post-apocalypse because of human rights, working rights, and more.
Unlike how the clones were educated grown inside a nutrient tank, the people in the modern world takes time to learn, adapt, and get used to what they're doing slowly. There is more flexibility in this, but after cutting off the years taken to learn about the job, the length of their service is not much different from the clones.
He would like to rely on AI to get the job done for him. But this would also be a problem if the news regarding this were exposed to outsiders. So far, the damage possibly caused by Shennong and Builder's Frame was within their control because it was yet to get the attention of the big four.
But a paper won't be able to keep a fire covered forever. It would eventually burn through and expose its heat to the public. And when that happened, keeping the minimal damage while maintaining the secrecy would be the most challenging task Zhang Qin Feng could ever face.
And while he was deep in his thought, a call came from the security force he established recently.
"Report." Zhang Qin Feng said.
"Boss... Two of our team caught a boat trying to smuggle some immigrants into our island. Their number is between a hundred people."
"We've captured all of them, including the smugglers. What is your instruction?" the acting director of the security forces said.
"A hundred people? Keep them in the facility until I arrive. I might have something in mind." Zhang Qin Feng replied.
