Chapter 263 - Back To Turbine Town (5)
"Satella!" Zhang Qin Feng finally arrived at the location stated by the Luna Device on his wrist. There's no need to describe the degree of the battle based on how messy is this place looks.
His woman was still holding the Tyrant's head with the spine attached and swinging around. The sight of Satella is no different from watching some award-winning horror film full of CG and aftereffects.
"Satella." Zhang Qin Feng called her again. He knew that she won, but that doesn't mean she's okay. Anyone would have considered if she was infected, based on the blood all over her body.
"You came?" Satella answered. She let go of the Tyrant's head and took a few steps towards Zhang Qin Feng as if she was unaware of the condition of her body.
'Stein, any sign of infection on Satella?' Zhang Qin Feng knew that he was overly careful, but this has to be done. What happened to him is equals to what will happen to the Wind Base.
[The system find no sign of infection on the individual named "Satella" but noticed a hint of petrification on her. The user might have to consider using the Viral-Gene Immunity to provide her with a boost]
'Alright. Manufacture the serum right now. How many doses can I make right now?' asked Zhang Qin Feng.
[A total of seven doses]
The system replied.
'Make all seven. Prioritize on the first dose for now.' Zhang Qin Feng added. Grabbing something out of nowhere, Zhang Qin Feng took a coat and covered Satella with it before he forcefully tore what she was wearing.
Afraid that the sign of infection is coming late, he made sure to check her body while taking advantage of her a little at the same time. He finally calmed himself after he was convinced that nothing is wrong with Satella.
Furthermore, he noticed that the Grade-G serum seems to be working exceptionally well on her compared to when he was using it. But in exchange for that, it increases the level of her blood petrification to a life-threatening state.
She, who shouldn't face any issue for at least sixty years, lost about a third of her lifespan just from two serums. The sign of blood petrification is noticeable around the waist, the thigh, and under the breast.
"Feng..." Satella was going to talk, but Zhang Qin Feng hugged her.
"Tell me about it after we get home. Is there anyone beside you?" Zhang Qin Feng asked. Looking at the state of the truck, it was evident that the driver should be gone. He was heartbroken about the destroyed Reprinter Unit, but things like that can be repaired.
But most importantly, it is the people he had. It would be an impact on his plan if the entire squad was gone, including Marvin. Although that fella has some problem with his priorities, he's someone indispensable in Zhang Qin Feng's plan.
"I think Marvin is fine. But I can't be sure because he was thrown out from the truck just like me." Satella answered. Her answer made Zhang Qin Feng rerun the scanner. But since there's no movement around them, the two have to search to check what is happening here.
Satella soon found Marvin behind a bed of shrubs. It seems that the Luna Device has fallen off his wrist. As for the tablet computer, it would be lucky if they could retrieve the data within. To his surprise, that rugged-use machine was actually destroyed from the impact.
The others arrived about fifteen minutes later after Satella found Marvin. Making sure that they keep looking around for any hidden threats, the entire army returned to the Wind Base along with the damaged truck in tow and the Reprinter Unit.
Marvin wakes up on their way back to the base. He was surprised that he survived the ordeal. Perhaps, once in a while, surviving or dying is purely based on luck.
"Boss... I know there are many things in your mind, but I have something I wanted to do. Can you please allow me to take two days' leave from the assignment?" Marvin said. He looked like he found something.
"Go ahead. Let me know if you need more than two days." Zhang Qin Feng smiled and approved his application. If he was the one affected instead, he would wish to get a few days off from everything too.
Marvin hopped down from the truck and entered the Heavy-Engineering Department when they got back to the base. He did ask if Zhang Qin Feng wanted the data from the tablet, but Zhang Qin Feng shook his head in reply.
In fact, he already hacked into the device's memory while holding it and downloaded everything into Stein's Data Center.
"What happened, boss?" Victor and Valerian immediately asked after their return. The base was in a disturbance mood when everyone was deployed to their respective station. Even those non-combatant personnel were in shock.
"Satella will brief everyone at night during the dinner. As for the people, we'll let them know about it in the morning. Tell them the problem is solved for now, and there's nothing to be worried about." Zhang Qin Feng said.
Later that night, except for Marvin, everyone was present at the dinner table.
They find it hard to believe after Satella shared about her clones with the traits of a Tyrant. And after the announcement, everyone finds it difficult to keep themselves calm.
Victor knew he has to do something about their arsenals. The news also made Liam thinking about preserving some emergency food. Because Satella's situation was a pretty unique case, Valerian requested her to drop by and provide her with some blood samples.
The twins looked restless, like they have something to say.
After the dinner, everyone returned to their place, except Miria and Miriam.
"What is in your mind?" Zhang Qin Feng asked the two because they're rarely staying at his place. Usually, the two were the quickest in returning to their building.
"Bad Feng. We've made something. Take it." Miria took a briefcase out and placed it in front of Zhang Qin Feng. Inside the case were four Fragmentation Grenades, but deadlier.
"We think it can be perfected much more, but let's go with this first. If you need more, just let us know. We're sorry that we didn't take this out and prepare everyone with this weapon sooner..." Miriam said.
"It's okay... Is this the finished version of Wolfram Light?" Zhang Qin Feng asked.
