Chapter 209 - Wang's Family (2)
"Hmm... How should I say it?" there was a hint of hesitation in her words as if she was wondering if telling Zhang Qin Feng was a correct or a wrong decision.
"Is there something I'm not supposed to know?" Zhang Qin Feng asked. Wang Yufei's hesitation makes him realized that everyone had some circumstances that can't be easily handled.
"It's not... But the Xuanwu Gang is an unusual case... This will be quite a long story," Wang Yufei replied. Her expression looked troubled whenever it comes to the thing regarding the Xuanwu Gang.
"Honored customer, your food is here. Can I trouble you to let us prepare the table for you?" luckily, the waitress came at the right time to save the day. Their interruption over the dull conversation helped change the mood to a much better one.
The two changed the topic while they're having their lunch. The discussion went from how Wang Yufei goes from a restaurant manager to today and what she experienced while younger.
It seems that she knew about his grandfather's official position and captain Hu. About the others, such as Ruo-Lan, and a few from the Tianhe Special Squadron, were barely caught her attention. From the look of it, there's a hint of information manipulation going on here.
This made Zhang Qin Feng feeling a little curious. Thinking back about everything that happened before caused Zhang Qin Feng to question what was wrong with the Wang Family.
After lunch, they returned to collect their engagement ring before sending Wang Yufei back to her restaurant. Zhang Qin Feng promised that he will be coming to pick her up in the evening before driving away to a specific place.
'Stein, contact Captain Hu from the Tianhe Special Squadron.' Zhang Qin Feng ordered the system to put him on the line with Captain Hu, the butler of the Wang Elder.
**Dururu...**
"Hello?" the call was answered after it was ringing for a few seconds.
"Captain Hu, this is Zhang Qin Feng. Is it convenient for us to talk?" Zhang Qin Feng went straight to the topic without going around in circles.
"Of course. Would you like to do it through the phone or face to face?" Captain Hu asked.
"Let's talk face to face. Where would be convenient for us to meet?" Zhang Qin Feng thought about it and decided it would be much better to talk in person. Sometimes, the gesture and facial expression of the person speaks much louder than just listening to their conversation.
"Let us meet at the place of our last operation." Captain Hu suggested. The line was disconnected after he finished with what he wanted to say.
"Our last operation, huh?" Zhang Qin Feng chuckled. Based on what Captain Hu was hinting, it was where Zhang Qin Feng had his mining facility. That place was bombed by the people from the Horus Eye Mercenary after their location was exposed by one of the leaders of the terrorist called Donald Mckenzie.
It seems that not a single leader from the Horus Eye Mercenary was caught last time.
"Perhaps... I should ask him what happened to the terrorist that was captured by the Tianhe Special Squadron." Zhang Qin Feng made sure he remember to ask about this when he met with the captain.
After a half an hour drive, he finally arrived at the storage warehouse beside his initial mining facility. Only broken rubbles and shelves were left on the crime scene, burned to a cinder, and slowly vanished with the rainwater whenever it rains.
About 5 minutes or so, Captain Hu arrived in the vehicle identical to the ride he's been before. Although Zhang Qin Feng didn't mention that he's only interested in meeting with the captain alone, it seems that he brought nobody with him on their meeting today.
"It's been quite a while." the captain said after he got down from the car and took a look at the rubble beside their meeting spot.
"You're right. It's been quite a while we didn't get in touch with one another." Zhang Qin Feng nodded. Taking out two cans of beer from the back of his car, Zhang Qin Feng handed one to the captain while he opened the other.
The captain caught the beer and opened it. Taking a better look At Zhang Qin Feng from his head to toe, he went ahead and opened the beer before knocking their can and took a sip.
"Welcome back." Captain Hu said.
"I'm sure you want to ask about something. What is it?" the captain said after he finished half of the beer.
"Yeah. I want to know what's the problem between the Xuanwu Gang and the Wang Family. Is it possible for you to tell me about it?" Zhang Qin Feng answered. It seems that the connection between the Wang Family and Xuanwu Gang was not as simple as it looks.
"Hmm... Did our little princess not tell you about that?" Captain Hu asked. The beer was finished by the time he's done with his sentence.
"She said it was a long story. So before I hear from her, I want to know what's the deal between them. If I'm not wrong, the Tianhe Special Squadron have something to do with them too, correct?" Zhang Qin Feng guessed.
"You're not wrong..." hearing what Zhang Qin Feng said made Captain Hu shook his head a few times. His action tells Zhang Qin Feng that he got part of his guesses correctly.
"It was indeed a long story between The Wang Family, the Tianhe Special Squadron, and the Xuanwu Gang. But to make it easier to understand, you can assume that we're all under one banner."
"Would you believe me if I say that the people from Xuanwu Gang were initially a part of Tianhe Special Squadron?" Captain Hu's sentence made Zhang Qin Feng felt agitated, to the point the aluminum can were crumpled into a disk.
"What happened?" Zhang Qin Feng asked.
"The government changed their policy out of a sudden, making a quarter of members from the Tianhe Special Squadron was decimated in an overseas mission."
"After that... The Tianhe Special Squadron splits into two factions. The one that followed the elder remained as the government's dog that no longer getting any attention. As for the other one, they went with the other Wang Family member and formed their own Xuanwu Gang." the captain said.
