Chapter 200 - Revolution (End Of Volume 2)
Without further ado, Wang Yufei put some force on the chopsticks in her hand and grabbed some of the noodles. She went for the dry noodle first, as it had a more intense flavor than the one with broth.
The way she's eating is still full of proper etiquette as she gently rolled the noodle in circles within the wooden spoon. Using the chopstick to pick some of the peanuts, shredded vegetables, and meat floss that comes as a topping, she placed that spoonful of noodle into her mouth.
"Ummm... The noodle is slightly overcooked. The flavor is good, but a little too much preservative is added. You might need to adjust some of the seasonings here and there to balance the taste properly." Wang Yufei added.
Her opinion seems more detailed compared to Alice Moon. Not only she managed to get things right straight from the first bite, but she could also guess how much of the seasoning packet Zhang Qin Feng had added into the broth when he was preparing the food.
She might not be a picky eater, but she sure is a master in food-tasting because that's her forte. She gave out a few other opinions on the noodle prepared by Zhang Qin Feng before moving on to the meat section.
"Our home doesn't have beef, correct? Where did you get it from?" Wang Yufei smiled and thought that Zhang Qin Feng secretly went out of the house to grab something to cook something for her.
But the more she looks at the beef on the table, the more curious she got.
"Feng... You're hiding something from me, huh? I thought you went out to get some beef home for cooking, but from what I know, it takes fifteen minutes to go out there for the nearest convenience store."
"And I'm sure that convenience stores don't sell A6 Han Country Beef. Where did you hide this high-quality meat?" Wang Yufei's chopstick went into the meat steak and tried to tear it apart to see what's hiding in there.
To her surprise, the texture was a 100% pure beef steak. The fiber, muscle, protein, and juices were just like Zhang Qin Feng grilling it on top of the hot plate before serving it whole like this.
'Vacuum sealed? Sous-Vide? Impossible... Even if he were to bring it here on the luggage back, it would undoubtedly attract the attention of the border security...'
'But this is the Han Country's proud A6 Beef, correct? I can't be wrong about this...' Wang Yufei started to suspect how accurate is her own judgment. Looking at the quiet and smirking Zhang Qin Feng only made her feeling more than curious about his mean to get this meat here.
Even she finds it difficult to source a considerable amount of A6 Quality Beef from the Han Country. And right here, this serving of beef is at least between 200 to 250grams in weight. That would cost them at least a grand or two if it was served in the restaurant.
From what she knows, the nearest supplier in this southern district was at least 40 minutes away from their house. Even if Zhang Qin Feng could fly, it would be impossible for him to go and back in fifteen minutes.
Her only option was to consider this as something he had prepared to surprise her.
Using the chopstick to grab a piece of the beautifully cut sirloin steak from the plate, Wang Yufei placed it gently on her tongue as she gives it a bite. The juices from the beef instantly burst out like the pulp of orange and brought her into a food orgasm.
"Fu-Wah!" Wang Yufei seemed overwhelmed by the flavor of the steak as she covered her lips while she's biting that been. The chopstick in her hand went for another slice to give it another try, and the result was another miracle.
This second slice was not as warm as her first bite, but the taste was comparable. It seems that the steak was strong enough to keep the flavor within after resting on the plate.
"Feng. I don't want surprises anymore. Open your card and tell me where did you get these A6 Han Country Beef from? Did you smuggle it using some tricks, or did that supermodel pull some strings so you can get this beef here?" Wang Yufei said.
The chopstick in her hand was rested on the holder. She then made her way over to where Zhang Qin Feng is standing and smirking at the same time.
"I'm going to see what secret you have there." Wang Yufei pouted and checked everything Zhang Qin Feng used to prepare the meal. She was obsessed to the extent she went to the bins and took everything Zhang Qin Feng thrown to check out his secret.
Her attention soon came to the vacuum-sealed packet with a slab of plant-based meat in it. If the sticker with three leaves wasn't there, she wouldn't even consider this possibility.
"That beef steak comes from this?" Wang Yufei looks disbelief as she holds that vacuum-sealed pack before Zhang Qin Feng. If she wasn't a pro in this food industry, she would have tossed this possibility aside and call Zhang Qin Feng crazy.
"Yup." Zhang Qin Feng nodded.
"Be honest with me. What are you trying to do here, Feng? And where did you get the resources to make this?" Wang Yufei asked.
"This is why I am gone for so many days. Do you think... This will be a revolution to the food industry? We might as well monopolized it and take over the world with this." Zhang Qin Feng chuckled and gave Wang Yufei's cheek a pinch.
"Have you gone mad? There's going to be so much obstruction from the others if we tried to go this way... What are you going to do with them?" Wang Yufei felt that she's going out of breath as her heart was beating fast from listening to Zhang Qin Feng's words.
"Then... We'll make something even newer to compete with them. On cost and technology, nobody can win us." Zhang Qin Feng added.
"You sound like a terrorist, Feng..." Wang Yufei stares at his eyes intensely. Deep inside her, she's wondering what will happen if this were to be introduced to the public.
