Chapter 1805: Last Trial - 6
Chapter 1805: Last Trial - 6
"You reached first," Ervin said softly. "But first place is not decided by arrival alone."
Max nodded. "I know."
Ervin lifted his spear.
Max raised Dragonheart.
Neither of them spoke again.
The battle began without warning.
Ervin’s spear thrust forward, and the abyssal aura around him collapsed into a single point. The attack did not feel fast in an ordinary sense. It felt unavoidable, as if the spear had been falling toward Max from the bottom of the abyss long before Ervin moved.
Max’s Dimensional Sovereign Body expanded instantly, and he saw the path of the spear, but even seeing it did not make it easy to avoid.
Dragonheart met the spear.
The impact rang across the final platform.
Max’s body slid back half a step.
Ervin’s eyes flickered.
Max’s gaze sharpened.
The next exchange was faster.
Spear and sword collided again and again. Ervin’s spearmanship was monstrous, deeper than anything he had revealed in the earlier trials. Every thrust contained hidden changes, every sweep carried abyssal weight, and every retreat was actually a preparation for another killing angle.
His aura did not explode outward like Orion’s star power or Selene’s light. It swallowed. It pulled. It made the battlefield feel deeper than it should have been.
But Max did not fall into it.
His Dimensional Sovereign Body gave him a complete sense of the battlefield. His dragon-scaled body endured the pressure. Divine King Punishment tore through the abyssal pull whenever it tried to suppress him. Dragonheart cut through the hidden spear lines, and when Ervin tried to drag his movement into the abyssal rhythm, Max released Emotion Severing Path and cut the connection between himself and that rhythm.
Ervin’s expression changed slightly.
"Your sword can sever even some crazy things."
Max stepped forward smiling."I know."
The two clashed one final time.
Ervin’s spear descended like a bottomless abyss.
Max’s sword rose in absolute silence.
The abyssal spear light and the Emotion Severing Path met in the center of the platform. For a breath, the entire Genesis Throne space trembled. Then the abyssal spear light split apart, not destroyed by force, but severed from the concept that allowed it to pull everything downward.
Ervin’s spear stopped a finger’s width from Max’s shoulder.
Dragonheart stopped at Ervin’s throat.
Silence fell.
Ervin looked at the blade near his neck, then slowly smiled.
"I withdraw."
"At the last moment, you could have defended, but you willingly didn’t," Max said, frowning. "Why is that?"
"It looks like all my actions have been perceived by you." Ervin smiled wryly before shaking his head and looking at Max. "I don’t want to release my full strength right now."
Max shrugged and didn’t ask much about it.
[Participant Ervin Has Withdrawn From The Final Throne Contest.]
[Final Throne Contest Winner: Max Morgan.]
The Genesis Throne released a colorless light that descended upon Max alone.
A pressure beyond all previous stages fell on him, but Max did not lower his head. He climbed the staircase of colorless light step by step, and every step made the throne clearer. When he finally reached the top, he stood before the Genesis Throne, and the entire trial space became silent.

[Genesis Trial Completed.]
[Reward Phase Initiated.]
The Genesis Sovereign Platform dissolved.
All five participants appeared once again in a calm cubic chamber, but this time, the atmosphere was different. There was no pressure, no guardians, no trial sequence, and no competition. In front of each participant appeared several glowing doors, each one leading to a different reward chamber.
A system prompt appeared.
[Reward Chambers Available.]
[Reward Chamber Time Will Be Determined By Final Genesis Marks.]
[The More Genesis Marks A Participant Possesses, The Longer They May Remain In Their Chosen Reward Chamber.]
[Each Participant’s Reward Chamber Options Will Be Generated According To Their Paths, Foundations, Bloodlines, Talents, And Trial Performance.]
[Each Participant May Choose Only One Reward Chamber.]
Max looked at the prompt, then at the doors appearing before him.
Several doors flickered briefly, but in the end, only two remained stable.
The first door was wrapped in seven-colored lightning. A divine throne of thunder appeared faintly behind it, and the aura of destructive punishment rolled outward like a storm waiting to descend upon all things.
It was the reward chamber connected to Divine King Punishment, the Pseudo Cosmic Path he had created from the essence of the Storm King’s Inheritance and the destructive punishment nature of the seven-colored lightning.
The second door was silent.
There was no thunder.
No flames.
No dazzling light.
It was a plain dark-gray door with a single sword mark carved down its center. Yet the moment Max looked at it, the entire chamber seemed to become still. The emotions in the air thinned. The faint excitement from completing the trial, the lingering battle intent, the curiosity of the others, and even the subtle pressure of the Genesis reward phase all seemed to quiet down around that door.
Emotion Severing Path.
The system prompt appeared before Max.
[Reward Chamber Options Detected.]
[Option One: Divine King Punishment Chamber.]
[Effect: Improve comprehension, stability, and destructive authority of the Divine King Punishment Pseudo Cosmic Path.]
[Option Two: Emotion Severing Path Chamber.]
[Effect: Improve comprehension, stability, and severing authority of the Emotion Severing Path Pseudo Cosmic Path.]
[Final Genesis Marks: 56.]
[Reward Chamber Time Granted: 56 Days.]
[Please Choose One Reward Chamber.]
Max did not hesitate here.
Divine King Punishment was powerful. Its destructive force was terrifying, and it had already allowed him to suppress Selene’s light-based attacks. If he entered that chamber, his seven-colored lightning path would certainly grow stronger.
But Max knew himself clearly. Divine King Punishment was a weapon of destruction and punishment, while Emotion Severing Path was something deeper to him.
So the choice was obvious.
Max walked toward the second door.
"I choose the Emotion Severing Path Chamber."
[Choice Confirmed.]
[Reward Chamber Selected: Emotion Severing Path Chamber.]
[Reward Time: 56 Days.]
The dark-gray door opened silently.
Inside was nothing but stillness.
No light came out.
No sound emerged.
Only a thin, invisible sword aura drifted from within, quiet enough to be missed by weaker people and terrifying enough to make every strong person present feel their heart tighten.
Max stepped toward it.
The others also chose their paths and entered in their respective chosen reward chambers.
