Dimensional Hotel
Chapter 848 - 847: Change
Chapter 848: Chapter 847: Change
The "Dream Realm" shrouded in red moonlight left some slight noise in my mind. Yu Sheng shook his head and tossed aside those noises, then he heard the rustling sounds beside him and lifted his head to see a pair of bright blue eyes.
The little puppet climbed over from the bed, with a head of messy blonde hair, and stared wide-eyed at Yu Sheng.
"Good heavens, it felt like I didn’t sleep at all last night—chased by monsters and listening to the mysterious closed-eye lady tell stories," Erin climbed onto the bedside table, sitting cross-legged with her arms crossed, "Ah, I really miss my dream long legs..."
"Still need to take a look at the Old World," Yu Sheng mumbled, stroking his chin, "to check on that rift..."
In the corner came some soft clicks, four puppet boxes were pushed open from the inside, one by one, the little puppets with black hair and red eyes climbed out of the boxes. They lined up to climb onto the nearby table to fetch their special little combs, then skillfully formed a circle on the floor to start combing each other’s hair.
The original blonde Erin also got up, found her comb in the bedside drawer, then stuffed the comb into Yu Sheng’s hand while turning around with a yawn: "Ha... Comb my hair... yawn."
As a result, Yu Sheng casually picked up the little puppet: "Face wash first."
"I don’t have eye boogers!" Erin squirmed in Yu Sheng’s hand, babbling, "Besides, my other four bodies sleep in the box, that thing itself is dust-proof, you know..."
Yu Sheng didn’t listen to Erin’s chatter at all, forcibly pushing her to the bathroom to wash up.
He then changed his clothes, getting ready to go wash up as well, but then heard his phone, charging nearby, buzz twice.
Yu Sheng picked up the phone, saw that a new message had arrived from Border Communication, the sender used a blood bag avatar, with the username "I can’t coexist with mosquitoes," followed by small notation inviting private chefs (priority given to three-high)...
Yu Sheng stared at the avatar and username for a dozen seconds before opening the message, already guessing who it was, and the content was as expected:
"Good morning, Mr. Yu, did you wake up smoothly? I hope last night’s nightmare didn’t leave any after-effects—Red."
Yu Sheng thought for a moment, replied with two messages, mainly to convey that everything was fine on his side, and casually mentioned his plan to revisit the "Old World," then got up and walked towards the bathroom—also to check if any Erins had fallen into the trash can or got stuck on the towel rack.
After all, those five puppets had been in there for a while now, but surprisingly, they hadn’t caused too much commotion...
Fifteen minutes later, Yu Sheng was sitting at the dining table on the first floor, in front of him were sesame pancake, soy milk, and fried dough sticks that Hu Li had just bought back. Three Erins were hung on the clothes drying rod at the balcony not far away, while the other two teamed up holding a hairdryer below, all wobbling about, whether being blown or blowing.
Luna, returning from applying chocolate to her succulent plants, saw this scene and casually asked, "Erin, what happened?"
"One sneaked toothpaste while washing face, slipped and fell into the sink," Yu Sheng tore a bite of the dough stick without lifting his head, "And two were playing with the shower in the bathroom, couldn’t hold on when the water turned on."
One of the rocking puppets on the clothes drying rod heard Yu Sheng’s words and shouted loudly: "Who sneaked toothpaste! I can barely swallow water, why would I sneak your toothpaste!?"
Yu Sheng finally looked up at the tiny thing: "Then explain to me, when I pushed the door open, what was that toothpaste foam on your mouth all about?"
"I was trying to unscrew the cap, but couldn’t and had to use my teeth to bite it..."
"What were you unscrewing the toothpaste cap for?"
Erin replied confidently: "I wanted to add chili powder to your toothpaste."
Yu Sheng thought for a moment, sighed, and decided to start a small account on the Border Communication forum to teach everyone how to tell jokes about people.
Hu Li looked at Erin for a while, moved quickly to Yu Sheng’s side with her bowl, muttering as she brushed her tail against his arm: "Savior, next time you go fighting in that Dream Realm or whatever, call me along, I want to see what the standing church looks like."
"Certainly, I can call you too, theoretically, if I can enter that town, it means Soul Wilderness can connect with it, and Soul Wilderness connects, it means we can gather people," Yu Sheng nodded, "Erin and I suffered there due to lacking heavy firepower, plus the first time entering an unfamiliar environment, without preparation and lacking experience."
"I also want to join," Luna spoke slowly off to the side, "Erin, combat power is so-so."
The puppet hanging on the drying rod instantly jumped: "C-type buckle, what unwarranted scorn are you spouting! Show some guts for a solo fight! I’ll take you on with a sixteen-man squad! I’ll take you on with a sixteen-man squad, can you beat me..."
However, Luna didn’t bother responding, just walked over, quietly took the hairdryer from the hands of the two unstable puppets, and proficiently started drying the clothes of the three wet Erins on the rod.
Hu Li held the bowl beside her, watching the scene with a warm smile: "Savior, they really have a good relationship..."
Yu Sheng: "...How can you tell?"
"Savior, you wouldn’t understand this~"
Yu Sheng pursed his lips and continued to lower his head and tear into buns and fritters with Hu Li, but then he suddenly had a feeling in his heart as if he sensed something, and looked towards the stairs leading to the basement.
The next second, he saw a familiar swirl of colorful paper confetti appear at the staircase.
The magic confetti was carried by an invisible wind and flew over. The two Erins who were holding a hair dryer on the balcony earlier saw the confetti and immediately ran over, jumping as if they wanted to grab a few pieces to stir things up, but the colorful confetti passed through the Little Puppet’s hands like an illusion—they floated all the way to Yu Sheng, and gathered into the form of Lucrecia.
"Uncle Yu, I’m back."
The Star Sea Witch greeted Yu Sheng with a smile on her face, clearly happy.
Yu Sheng looked a bit surprised at the Star Sea Witch that suddenly appeared: "I thought you would stay home for a few more days... Come, sit here first, we’re just having a meal. Do you eat buns or fritters? Just bought from the roadside..."
Lucrecia, not being polite, casually sat across from Yu Sheng, though she didn’t touch the food on the table: "Thanks, but I’m not hungry, I just had a meal before coming. Also, I was indeed planning to stay home for a few more days, but things got a bit... complicated, and my father ’sent’ me back again."
Yu Sheng almost choked on his fritters upon hearing this, and after great effort finally swallowed: "What, another situation? Is something going to land on my tomb again?!"
He had somewhat developed PTSD, considering the Boundary Land is always troubled, plus he didn’t know if it was because crawling out of the tomb lit up some kind of coordinate, but whenever something bizarre falls from "outside," it all comes to this tiny plot of land here, so as soon as he heard Lucrecia say "something happened," his first reaction was whether another catastrophe was about to be added to the epic-scale disaster beneath his feet...
But thankfully, Lucrecia immediately shook her head: "No, this time isn’t related to the Dark Angel... well, not entirely unrelated, but this time it’s not a bad thing."
Even the fox girl put down her bowl, staring straight at her with her big golden-red eyes.
Lucrecia smiled: "It’s like this..."
A few minutes later, Yu Sheng’s eyes widened.
"...Build the Calibrator in the Old World?!"
Lucrecia nodded solemnly.
"Exactly. But I should explain this ’construction’ process a bit—the way the Calibrator ’roots’ is actually about merging the data structure used as ’Keystones’ with the Calibrator, turning it into a navigation subsystem.
"The ’World Bridge’ you hold contains the original blueprint of the Calibrator, while Erin’s Mind stores the calibration parameters from back then. The Beauty God or Tree Angel might hold the unlocking key to those parameters, and all these elements can function not only in the New World but also merge with the Old World’s data structure...
"Compatibility is something my father has always prioritized since the creation of this world.
"The Void Engine designed by my father can integrate with the world Barrier, which is crucial for the ’World Ark’ plan, and a complete Calibrator can achieve similar integration—thus, if there is a suitable target for integration, the Calibrator doesn’t necessarily have to be ’built’ on this ’side’ of the Great Void."
Yu Sheng furrowed his brows slightly, trying hard to keep up with what the other person was saying, while quickly pondering: "So... the Old World meets all the conditions?"
Lucrecia nodded: "Yes, because the data structure of the Old World mapping is at the information base layer of the whole Universe, so although it is not directly connected to the current New World, building the Calibrator in the Old World can still provide sufficient ’complete’ order field parameters to the World Engine.
"In a sense, the Old World positioned at the ’base layer’ of the Universe’s information structure, and the Great Void at the ’center’ of the Universe, are in fact equivalent—they both can achieve a complete mathematical description of the entire world..."
Yu Sheng tried to think about it: "But I remember the Old World itself is in a ’packaged’ state, that’s my understanding, it may not be accurate—isn’t such packaging equivalent to ’stop running’? Even a shut-down server can..."
"That’s what I want to talk about secondly," Lucrecia nodded solemnly, "according to the data I collected last time from the other side of the gate, the current state of the Old World has exceeded our previous judgment—although the packaging structure has yet to malfunction, inside the Old World... a basic ’information circuit’ phenomenon has actually appeared."
Yu Sheng frowned, then spoke in a deep voice moments later: "...Say it in layman’s terms?"
"It has really ’started breathing’," Lucrecia slowly said, "due to the stubborn struggle of a Dark Angel who refuses to die and doesn’t want his comrades to perish, the sealed Sanctuary is rebooting."
