These creatures that suddenly emerged from the dirt and ruins were numerous and not slow, but their combat skills were not impressive. Their attack method was limited to simple collisions and stealth attacks with some bizarre limbs growing from their bodies. But to Yu Sheng, with a physique far beyond ordinary people, and Erin, with her quick reflexes, they posed no threat. So even though they were surrounded, Yu Sheng remained unperturbed for now.

He and Erin fought and retreated, relying on the Puppet Lady’s powerful yet chaotic "swing the stick like an adult chimpanzee sword technique." They soon forced back a wave of monsters and prepared to find an opening and break the encirclement—but just then, they simultaneously heard a strange humming from above.

The ground was vibrating, the surrounding monsters inexplicably slowed down, and Erin was the first to notice something. She turned to look at the abandoned church nearby: "Hey, Yu Sheng! This thing is shaking!"

Yu Sheng hesitated slightly, first executing a Salted fish thrust to pierce a hole in a mud monster close to him, and then looked towards where the puppet pointed.

Under the moonlight, the dilapidated church was indeed shaking. At first, Yu Sheng thought it was an earthquake, but soon realized that the trembling building was only the church.

Accompanied by the sound of cracking bricks and stones, terrifying fissures swiftly spread across the church’s outer walls, and the entire structure gradually appeared to be falling apart.

The moon hanging high in the sky enlarged again, its changes now impossible to ignore. The red moonlight pierced through the clouds, enveloping the earth like a floating veil, as the abandoned church shook, cracked, and the spreading fissures on its outer walls slowly filled with moonlight. The red lines stretched like blood vessels across the building’s surface, accompanied by their gradual swelling, the humming from inside the church seemed to transform into a slow and powerful heartbeat.

"Holy shit, holy shit..." Erin instinctively hid beside Yu Sheng, "What the hell is happening!? I thought we were going to fight monsters spawned from inside the church, don’t tell me we’re supposed to fight this whole church..."

Yu Sheng broke out in a cold sweat upon hearing this, glaring at the puppet beside him: "Can you say less..."

Before he could finish, the church stood up...

Right before their eyes, the massive ruins of the building emitted a loud heartbeat, the collapsing towers on either side of the church rose first, followed by the main structure in the center suddenly rising!

The entire church transformed in a series of chaotic reshaping, into a terrifying construct creeping in the night, supported by various pillars that formed the shell of the stone giant beast. Broken windows resembled eyes embedded in its curved shell, and the blood-red moonlight from the sky fell like a luxurious cape, connecting heaven and earth, hanging over the tallest tower of the church.

A phrase inexplicably passed through Yu Sheng’s mind—the coronation of moonlight.

In the next moment, what used to be the church’s stone construct finally moved. Its side structure suddenly deformed, and its "arms" formed by entangled stone pillars and broken walls swept across the square.

Countless mud monsters were shattered by this sweep, while Yu Sheng and Erin began dodging beyond the range of the attack beforehand.

The earth trembled, and the night echoed with the sound of countless things breaking. The Great Cathedral crawled and roared, moving its limbs like a blind and frenzied giant moon beast, while everything near the church seemed to be the target of this giant beast.

"Puppet Progenitor!" Erin shouted while running around with Yu Sheng, "This thing doesn’t even have a health bar!"

As she spoke, she attempted to pounce on Yu Sheng, the latter was startled by the puppet’s sudden move while dodging the approaching attacks: "What are you doing?"

The Puppet Lady replied matter-of-factly: "I’m going to sit on your shoulder!"

Yu Sheng’s eyes almost popped out: "You’re 1.67 meters tall now!"

Erin: "Oh damn, I forgot!"

Another rumble echoed from behind them. A structure unknown to be a part of the church crashed to the ground. Erin exclaimed, hurriedly turning back to look, seeing the church supporting several large pillars at the edge of the square. Its main structure slightly tilted, and what used to be the church door dropped towards the ground, all crooked. That door twisted with a menacing edge like a terrifying face glaring down.

Then the "face" opened, the two broken doors split apart like torn flesh, revealing inside the pitch black doors of the church, a small moon floating within, rapidly expanding and deforming.

"Oh my gosh!" Erin was frightened by the scene and grabbed Yu Sheng’s arm instinctively, "This looks hard to fight, should I figure out how to ’wake’ you first, otherwise it would be too freaking funny if we get killed in a dream while asleep..."

A monster formed from a lump of earth and rubble suddenly emerged from the ground nearby, wobbling as it lunged towards them. Yu Sheng flipped the blood-colored spear in his hand and hurled it. Guided by an invisible force, the spear sliced through the air, splitting the monster in two, and then pierced through several nearby earth constructs in quick succession before returning to Yu Sheng’s hand.

"I don’t think this is just a dream," Yu Sheng quickly said. "Maybe you should leave first; I’ll stay here and spar with this cathedral a bit longer, see if I can figure out what’s going on before getting killed."

Erin: "You’re treating your life like a basic attack..."

Before she could finish speaking, a mass of writhing earth suddenly emerged from a very close distance, lunging straight at her back. Seeing this, Yu Sheng hurriedly pulled Erin aside, but he used too much force, and with a pop, he ended up pulling off one of Erin’s arms.

The detached puppet arm swung around in Yu Sheng’s hand, and Erin staggered, narrowly avoiding the sneak attack from behind. She then executed a simple and unpretentious jump slash with her sword, dispatching the attacker. Turning her head to look at her empty left shoulder, she exclaimed, "Damn! My royal power!"

Yu Sheng was also somewhat stunned, but the surrounding earth constructs converging once again left him no time to respond to the puppet’s nonsense. He had to wield the spear with one hand to pierce through the nearest enemy, while swinging Erin’s arm with the other hand like a meteor hammer, smashing it into the head of another monster.

Erin became anxious at the sight: "Yu Sheng you jerk! My arm isn’t meant to be used like that!"

"I’ll fix it if it breaks..."

Yu Sheng shouted, and at that moment, a loud boom sounded from within the nearby cathedral. It was the cathedral’s grand bell ringing deep within the layered walls, its solemn sound distorted by resonance, as if it could directly strike at a person’s heart.

The church’s door, like a bizarre face, shook on the head of the giant construct, while the small floating moon within the door frame quivered violently like a bloodshot single eye. Scarlet moonlight fell upon the square, mingled with layers of whispering, screams capable of driving ordinary people insane in an instant, and various illusions that constantly appeared.

Yu Sheng also felt a moment of dizziness, and then he realized that the earth monsters gathering from all directions seemed to be affected by the moonlight as well. The monsters that had been besieging him and Erin now wavered and changed their course, beginning to surge towards the cathedral.

The square echoed with layers of murmurs – sounds emanating from the mouths of the earth monsters, their heads crudely imitating human forms trembling as they uttered dreamlike chaotic words. The layered sounds gradually converged into a single phrase, rising and falling like a tide.

"Kill the moon... kill the moon..."

The chaotic murmurs gradually turned into a roar, and from various corners of the town’s ruins emerged even more earth monsters. They gathered in the square; some continued to attack Yu Sheng and Erin persistently, while others seemed to ignore the "invader" in the square, instead lunging at the "cathedral" that was wreaking havoc.

The cathedral seemed to be provoked. The cracks on its surface multiplied, yet the overall structure swelled even more, its movements becoming more violent. The moonlight, like fresh blood, flowed through the fissures on the cathedral’s shell, and a red curtain unfurled flamboyantly over the entire town.

A tower on one side of the cathedral collapsed, rolling across half of the square. Countless earth monsters were nearly instantly crushed into mud cakes, but in a matter of moments, more monsters surged from all directions, climbing onto the cathedral’s limbs like moths to a flame. They frantically dismantled the warped bricks and stones while recklessly burrowing into the fissures brimming with blood-colored moonlight.

"Kill the moon... kill the moon... the Queen’s order, kill the moon..."

Amidst the roars echoing in the square, there was something new, yet Yu Sheng and Erin had no time to ponder these details. The battle between the cathedral and the earth monsters expanded its destructive range. Although the siege upon them had lessened somewhat, the increasingly frenzied cathedral began to rampage across the square.

Yu Sheng seized the moment, retracting the blood-colored spear and grabbing Erin’s left arm with one hand while holding Erin herself with the other. They ran towards a small path on the other side of the square.

"Kill the moon! The Queen’s order! Kill the moon!"

From all directions came chaotic roars, and the nerve-wracking grinding sounds of earth and stone filled the entire town. Yu Sheng felt the sounds drawing closer, as if the whole town under the moonlight was gradually coming to life. There was no safe place to set foot amidst these ruins.

Yet at this moment, out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly noticed something flicker inside a dilapidated house they passed by on the roadside.

Before Yu Sheng could react, a mirror with chaotic angles abruptly appeared at his side, and then a slender arm shot out from between those mirrors.

"This way!"

A somewhat familiar voice appeared next to his ear. Yu Sheng was pulled, feeling the surrounding light and shadow swirl and gravity invert, as he uncontrollably tumbled into a slanted mirror.
