Chapter 314: Chapter 314: Dragon’s Reverse Scale, Touch It and Die

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Every sword strike that landed on the barrier was like a death knell tolling in the Second Prince’s heart.

His despair deepened with each slash, growing exponentially as the barrier’s light dimmed.

CRACK!

The barrier finally shattered like an eggshell, and a demonic sword light slashed toward the nearly suffocated Second Prince.

"You can’t kill me! If you do, Yun Mengling can’t be saved!"

The Second Prince threw out his last lifeline, looking at Yi Xiaoyao in terror.

TING!

The sword’s edge cut into the man’s throat, stopping the very instant blood began to seep out.

Yi Xiaoyao’s icy gaze seemed to bore right through the Second Prince. This concerned Yun Mengling, so he had to know exactly what was going on.

"Before all this, I gave Yun Cang an elixir. As long as Yun Mengling takes it, her heart will belong to me forever. And only I know who..."

The Second Prince began speaking in a rush, but before he could finish, the Bloodthirsty Sword had already slit his throat.

As the blade lifted, the man’s head flew into the air, spraying blood.

In its final moment before death, the eyes on the head were filled with utter disbelief.

He was the high and mighty Second Prince of Great Xia, destined to one day inherit the entire Great Xia Empire. His future was supposed to be limitless.

But now, all of it—everything—had been completely forfeit because of a single woman.

Because he had provoked someone he never should have, and never could afford to.

The instant the Second Prince’s head rolled to the ground, he heard Yi Xiaoyao let out a thunderous, enraged roar.

"TOUCH THE DRAGON’S REVERSE SCALE, AND YOU WILL DIE!!!"

His cry echoed in everyone’s hearts, sending shivers of terror down their spines.

Yun Mengling was Yi Xiaoyao’s reverse scale.

No matter how great their background, how high their status, or how strong their power, anyone who touched her would die!

No one dared to question this statement.

The twenty corpses of the City Lords on the high platform, and the decapitated Second Prince, were a clear warning to them all.

"The Second Prince... he was actually killed!"

"This Yi Xiaoyao is terrifying!"

"This is tantamount to declaring war on Great Xia! The world is about to be thrown into chaos!"

Murmurs of lingering fear spread through the crowd, but no one dared to make the slightest move.

Meanwhile, Yi Xiaoyao, having heard the Second Prince’s final words, frowned and looked toward Yun Mengling.

"Ling’Er, what’s this about the elixir that guy mentioned?" he asked worriedly.

Yun Mengling’s face was already pale, and upon hearing Yi Xiaoyao’s question, her delicate body began to tremble slightly.

She then explained what had happened, adding, "When Grandfather gave me that elixir, I sensed something was wrong with it. But for the sake of the Yun Family’s survival, I had no choice but to take it. Afterward, though, I used my Holy Light Power to suppress and seal the elixir’s effects."

Hearing this, Yi Xiaoyao, though still furious, felt a slight sense of relief.

Fortunately, Yun Mengling had been vigilant enough to use her Holy Light Power to suppress and seal the effects. Otherwise, the consequences would have been unimaginable.

However, it was still a major hidden danger that had to be completely eliminated.

By this point, the twenty-seven Alliance Leaders had already joined forces to slay the two Golden Armor Powerhouses and four Silver Armor Powerhouses. They now stood behind Yi Xiaoyao, awaiting his orders.

After a moment of contemplation, Yi Xiaoyao ordered Bai Ye, who was standing behind him, "Bai Ye, go to the Great Shang Dynasty and bring my Alchemy Master, Dan Jiu, here. The faster, the better!"

Bai Ye immediately accepted the order, transforming into a streak of white light and disappearing over the horizon.

"Xiaoyao, do you have a plan?"

Yun Mengling asked, extremely worried. She couldn’t help but feel a lingering dread at the thought of the elixir’s effects.

Yi Xiaoyao ruffled her hair and smiled gently. "Don’t worry. Master Dan Jiu possesses the legacy of a Pill Immortal. He can solve any problem related to elixirs."

After speaking, Yi Xiaoyao’s gaze swept across the crowd.

Finally, that terrifying gaze, which made everyone’s heart pound with fear, came to rest on Yun Cang.

"Was it you who forced Ling’Er to take that elixir?"

The indifferent, icy voice echoed in Yun Cang’s ears, making him shudder.

Yun Cang didn’t speak. He, too, was in agony over the matter.

"Xiaoyao, Grandfather didn’t force me! After all, the very survival of the entire Yun Family was at stake!" Yun Mengling quickly interjected.

"Using the Yun Family to convince you to do something you didn’t want to—if that isn’t forcing you, what is?"

Yi Xiaoyao snorted coldly and walked up to Yun Cang.

"As the Manor Master of the Yun Mansion, you did nothing wrong in this matter. But as Ling’Er’s grandfather, you were horribly, terribly wrong!"

"Even if you are Ling’Er’s grandfather, I can never forgive you for doing something that harmed her!"

"From now on, if anything happens to Ling’Er because of this, I don’t care who you are to her—you will die!"

Each merciless rebuke rang in Yun Cang’s ears, striking his heart like a hammer blow.

Yun Cang nodded repeatedly with a bitter smile. "You’re right. This was my mistake. I am unworthy of being Ling’Er’s grandfather."

Unable to bear it, Yun Mengling tugged on the corner of Yi Xiaoyao’s sleeve. He was, after all, the grandfather who had raised her and doted on her the most.

Sensing Yun Mengling’s plea, Yi Xiaoyao finally allowed the anger in his heart to subside.

Suddenly, he thought of something else and asked, "How did the Second Prince know about my connection to the Yun Mansion?"

"Based on my speculation, this is most likely related to the Shao Family."

Yun Cang said. He had already conducted some investigation into the matter.

Yi Xiaoyao nodded, the cold glint in his eyes returning.

"The Shao Family... it seems one dead Shao Jingyun wasn’t enough for them. In that case, annihilate their entire clan!"

Immediately after, Yi Xiaoyao issued a command to the Alliance Leaders behind him. In addition to annihilating the Shao Family, he wanted them to hunt down every person and power involved in this incident.

"Everyone involved in this matter—once found, kill them all without exception!"

His voice, filled with awe-inspiring Killing Intent, echoed between heaven and earth.

He would make everyone know that Yun Mengling was his woman. He would kill anyone who dared to even think about touching her.

The wedding affair had come to an end, but Yi Xiaoyao still hadn’t left.

What happened next—the extermination of the Shao Family—was something everyone had expected.

What was somewhat surprising, however, was that after the Shao Family was wiped out, another power—the Profound Secret Tower, which had always acted with discretion and mystery—saw all of its powerhouses commit suicide.

Across the twenty-one cities, everyone knew of this Demon King whose every move sent tremors of fear through their hearts.

Even if people wanted to leave and lie low for a while, or send for help, they had no opportunity to do so.

The twenty-one cities had long since been completely sealed by an army of powerhouses. Not even a fly could get out.

"Commander, although we have sealed the twenty-one cities, it won’t be long before the other cities and Great Xia notice something is amiss."

An Alliance Leader reported to Yi Xiaoyao, advising, "So we must retreat to the Chaotic Alliance Domain as soon as possible."

Yi Xiaoyao was sitting in Yun Mengling’s courtyard. Hearing this, his gaze flickered.

He couldn’t just leave, because among those who had touched his reverse scale this time, someone was still alive.
