Chapter 257: Attacking the Cold Blood Alliance

Chapter 257: Chapter 257: Attacking the Cold Blood Alliance

"Where?" Yi Xiaoyao was instantly intrigued.

The burly middle-aged man said, "Rumor has it that within the Main Pillar, there is a Netherworld Cave. Anyone who enters will have their soul instantly obliterated, turning into a pile of withered bones!"

’Netherworld Cave?’ Hearing this, a spark of hope suddenly ignited in Yi Xiaoyao’s heart.

’Could the Secret Collection be hidden in the Netherworld Cave?’

’But if even the Leader of the Primordial Evil Alliance can’t get in, how could I?’

Nevertheless, he decided to check it out.

The Primordial Evil Alliance had nine Sub-Pillars. These nine formed a ring, with the Main Pillar at its center.

A moment later, Yi Xiaoyao appeared in the sky above the Main Pillar. Just as he was about to descend, he ran into a figure.

"You again?"

Yi Xiaoyao frowned at the figure—it was Yuan Lie.

"I should be the one asking you that!"

Yuan Lie scoffed. After their previous encounter, he had grown to thoroughly despise Yi Xiaoyao.

Then, Yuan Lie narrowed his eyes. "It looks like you’re trying to force your way into the Main Pillar."

"I was just looking around the Primordial Evil Alliance’s territory. Besides, I’m a team leader now. How could I be trespassing?" Yi Xiaoyao retorted.

"A team leader? What’s that worth?" Yuan Lie sneered. "Only those at the rank of Squad Leader or higher may set foot in the Primordial Evil Alliance’s Main Pillar. All other intruders are to be killed on sight!"

Yi Xiaoyao frowned. He hadn’t been aware of that rule.

In the next moment, Yi Xiaoyao’s gaze narrowed as he looked into the distant sky.

Yuan Lie also whipped his head around to look.

In the patch of empty sky they were staring at, several figures had suddenly materialized, each one emanating an astounding aura.

Immediately after, three figures flew out from within the Primordial Evil Alliance’s Main Pillar. One of them was none other than the Leader of the Primordial Evil Alliance, Yuan Chou.

"Men of the Cold Blood Alliance, why have you come to our Primordial Evil Alliance with such fanfare?"

Yuan Chou and his two companions flew up to meet the approaching figures and posed the question.

Among the figures, the leader held a stick of Blood-Burning Incense that trailed bloody smoke. He was none other than the leader of the Cold Blood Alliance, Han Jingsong.

Right now, Han Jingsong’s face was a mask of unconcealed fury.

"Hmph! My son, Han Yuan, was murdered! We have been following the trail of the Blood-Burning Incense to track down his killer, and the smoke has led us directly to your Primordial Evil Alliance!" Han Jingsong roared, his voice cold as ice.

Hearing this, Yuan Chou frowned. "Are you implying someone from my Primordial Evil Alliance killed your son, Han Yuan?"

"Precisely! At the very least, the murderer is within your Primordial Evil Alliance at this very moment!" Han Jingsong declared. "Yuan Chou, you’d best hand him over!"

Yuan Chou’s eyes narrowed. He knew that Han Jingsong’s son, Han Yuan, possessed a Cultivation at the Nascent Soul Ninth Realm. Furthermore, due to the Cold Blood Alliance’s unique Cultivation Technique, he was even more formidable than a typical expert at the peak of the Nascent Soul Realm.

If that were the case, and Han Yuan had truly been killed by a member of the Primordial Evil Alliance, the perpetrator would have to be at least at the level of a Squad Leader.

And how could Yuan Chou possibly hand over one of his own Squad Leaders?

"Absurd! You show up at my door with some random stick of Blood-Burning Smoke and dare to frame the Primordial Evil Alliance? It’s clear to me you’re just looking for an excuse to declare war!" Yuan Chou retorted coldly.

Han Jingsong’s anger flared. He roared back, "Yuan Chou, if you don’t hand over my son’s killer, then the Cold Blood Alliance will be your Primordial Evil Alliance’s mortal enemy!"

"As if the Primordial Evil Alliance is afraid of you?"

Yuan Chou sneered. The Primordial Evil Alliance was ranked higher than the Cold Blood Alliance in terms of power, so he naturally had no fear of such a threat.

Han Jingsong gritted his teeth in fury. Finally, with a heavy snort, he turned and left in a huff with his men.

No one could have guessed that the people from the Cold Blood Alliance were there for Yi Xiaoyao.

Meanwhile, Yi Xiaoyao, who had witnessed the entire scene, broke out in a cold sweat. He never imagined that after killing Han Yuan, the Cold Blood Alliance would actually be able to track him here.

Fortunately, the danger had passed for the time being. Otherwise, faced with a hunt by the Cold Blood Alliance, even if he wasn’t killed, Yi Xiaoyao would have become a wanted fugitive.

Just then, Yuan Lie snapped back to his senses. He didn’t notice anything unusual about Yi Xiaoyao’s demeanor.

"Kid, I’ll let you off this once for Leng Yan’s sake. But if you dare take so much as half a step into the Main Pillar again, I will kill you on the spot!"

After delivering his cold warning to Yi Xiaoyao, Yuan Lie flew back into the Main Pillar.

Yi Xiaoyao watched Yuan Lie’s receding figure, his eyes narrowing slightly, before turning to leave as well.

After this incident, only two things occupied Yi Xiaoyao’s mind.

’First, only those at the rank of Squad Leader or higher can enter the Main Pillar. To find the Netherworld Cave, I have to find a way to become a Squad Leader.’

’Second, although the Cold Blood Alliance retreated today, I’m sure they won’t give up so easily. I need to be extra careful.’

Back in the Ninth Team’s courtyard, Yi Xiaoyao suddenly remembered the second Sword Mark that had appeared on the stone table in his own yard. He turned to the others in the courtyard and asked, "Where’s Wind Discipline?"

"Team Leader, Wind Discipline has been locked in his room ever since he left your quarters. I feel like he’s acting really strangely."

"I think Wind Discipline might have entered a state of enlightenment."

The team members said.

’A state of enlightenment?’ Yi Xiaoyao gave a faint smile, then asked them, "By the way, do you know what it takes to become a Squad Leader?"

The team members were all taken aback for a moment. "Team Leader, even if one’s strength reaches the Nascent Soul Transformation Realm, they can’t become a Squad Leader directly. You also need to have enough Battle Merits."

"Battle Merits?" Yi Xiaoyao asked, confused.

"Battle Merits represent contributions to the Primordial Evil Alliance. You can earn them by killing enemies, donating resources, and so on," they explained.

Yi Xiaoyao nodded. ’It looks like if I want to become a Squad Leader, I’ll have to find a way to earn Battle Merits first.’

However, in the Chaotic Alliance Domain, fighting was a daily occurrence. Earning Battle Merits by killing enemies shouldn’t be too difficult.

And sure enough, an opportunity to earn Battle Merits presented itself the very next day.

Early in the morning, Leng Yan summoned Yi Xiaoyao. Upon his return, he hovered above the courtyard and bellowed.

"Ninth Team, assemble!"

In just a few moments, all twenty members of the Ninth Team were assembled.

"Team Leader, what is it?" someone asked.

The corner of Yi Xiaoyao’s mouth curled up. "I’ve just received word. The Primordial Evil Alliance is going to attack the Cold Blood Alliance!"

"What? Attack the Cold Blood Alliance?"

All the team members were stunned. Although the Cold Blood Alliance was weaker than the Primordial Evil Alliance, they were still a major power, ranked eighteenth.

If the Primordial Evil Alliance were to attack the Cold Blood Alliance, even if they won, they would likely suffer devastating casualties.

"There’s no need to worry. The Jade Cauldron Alliance and the Feiyan Alliance are joining the attack against the Cold Blood Alliance!"

Yi Xiaoyao said with a faint smile, seeing their concern.

Hearing this, the men breathed a collective sigh of relief.

The Jade Cauldron Alliance and the Feiyan Alliance were also major powers ranked in the top thirty. With them and the Primordial Evil Alliance combined, wiping out the Cold Blood Alliance would be almost trivially easy.

It turned out that the Jade Cauldron Alliance and the Feiyan Alliance had, by some unknown means, discovered clues indicating that their own Young Alliance Leader and Young Miss had been killed by the Cold Blood Alliance. As a result, they had joined forces to attack them.

And since the leader of the Cold Blood Alliance had personally declared them mortal enemies just yesterday, the Primordial Evil Alliance, upon learning of the joint attack, naturally decided to get involved and help eradicate the Cold Blood Alliance completely.

Yi Xiaoyao was secretly overjoyed by this. If the Cold Blood Alliance was destroyed, one huge, hidden threat to his life would be eliminated.

At the same time, Yi Xiaoyao was just in need of Battle Merits to get promoted to Squad Leader. He never thought an opportunity to earn them would arrive so quickly.
