Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Chaotic Alliance Domain

The Great Xia Empire was a centralized nation. The Imperial Army Mansion wielded the greatest authority within it, and its commands had to be obeyed unconditionally by all factions—including the Bounty Order currently in Yi Xiaoyao’s hands.

Now that the Imperial Army Mansion had put a bounty on Yi Xiaoyao, remaining in the Great Xia Empire would be like a sheep walking into a wolf pack. Sooner or later, he would be hunted down.

"Why does the Imperial Army Mansion have a bounty on you?" Yun Cang asked Yi Xiaoyao with a frown.

"I killed some of their people before this."

Yi Xiaoyao gave a resigned smile. Of course, he wasn’t about to tell them that the Imperial Army Mansion was after the Heaven and Earth Fire Essence and the Nine Transformations Nascent Soul Technique.

Yun Cang’s eyes flickered. He knew the reason went far beyond that; otherwise, the bounty on Yi Xiaoyao wouldn’t be so high.

However, he didn’t press the issue. He just said, "You need to leave. Go to a certain place."

"Where?" Yi Xiaoyao frowned.

Yun Cang’s eyes glinted as he said, "The Chaotic Alliance Domain!"

Hearing those three words, the color drained from Yun Mengling’s face. She tried to stop him, "No! Grandfather, how can you let Xiaoyao go to a place like that!"

"What kind of place is that?" Yi Xiaoyao asked, raising an eyebrow in confusion.

"If he stays in the Great Xia Empire any longer, it will be infinitely more dangerous than going to the Chaotic Alliance Domain," Yun Cang told Yun Mengling in a grave voice.

Then, he turned to Yi Xiaoyao and began to explain.

"A hundred years ago, a demonic figure emerged in Great Xia—Cang Tianxing!"

"This man threw the Great Xia Empire into utter chaos. His faction seized half the empire, and even the Great Xia Empire was powerless against them."

"Ultimately, after Cang Tianxing passed away, his faction was left leaderless. It fractured into countless smaller powers, forming what is now the Chaotic Alliance Domain."

"It’s a place unbound by any of the Great Xia Empire’s laws, a place filled with slaughter where only the strong survive!"

"Nearly everyone in the Chaotic Alliance Domain has a bounty on their head from the Great Xia Empire. At the same time, many fugitives have flocked to the Chaotic Alliance Domain to escape the Empire’s reach."

Hearing this, Yi Xiaoyao instantly understood why Yun Cang was telling him to go there.

’No wonder they call it the Chaotic Alliance Domain. It really is chaotic.’

He murmured to himself, but a smile touched his lips. For some reason, he felt a strange yearning for the Chaotic Alliance Domain.

Yi Xiaoyao craved battle. Only by tempering himself through combat could he climb his way to the pinnacle of power.

Clearly, the Chaotic Alliance Domain was not only a good destination for Yi Xiaoyao, but his only option.

However, one thing still troubled him.

"But what about Ling’Er..."

Yi Xiaoyao’s brow furrowed as he looked at Yun Mengling.

"Meng Ling cannot go with you to the Chaotic Alliance Domain," Yun Cang stated. "When you truly have the power to protect her, then you can come back for her."

Yi Xiaoyao gave a bitter smile. ’To think we have to part again so soon after finally being reunited.’

Just then, Yuncheng, who was standing nearby, spoke up. "Yi Xiaoyao, the Manor Master thinks very highly of you. In fact, just a moment ago, he was planning to let you be with the Young Miss. But it can’t be helped. Now that the Imperial Army Mansion has put a bounty on you, she would be implicated if she were with you. I hope you can understand the Manor Master’s decision."

Yi Xiaoyao’s eyes flickered. ’So Yun Cang was about to let me be with Ling’Er?’

Yet, this wonderful possibility had been shattered by the Great Xia Empire’s Imperial Army Mansion. The thought made Yi Xiaoyao’s gaze turn icy. ’One day,’ he vowed, ’I will make the Imperial Army Mansion pay the price.’

Then, Yi Xiaoyao nodded. "I understand. I also know that with my current strength, I can’t protect Ling’Er. I will go to the Chaotic Alliance Domain."

"Xiaoyao!" Yun Mengling cried, her face filled with reluctance and worry.

Yi Xiaoyao gave her small hand a squeeze to comfort her. "Ling’Er, don’t worry. I’ll be back soon, strong enough to protect you. This is only a temporary separation."

"Mhm!" Yun Mengling nodded emphatically. She had faith in Yi Xiaoyao.

"You should leave soon. Delays can bring unexpected trouble," Yun Cang said with a light sigh.

Then, Yun Mengling pulled Yi Xiaoyao to the edge of a pool shrouded in mist and clouds.

"Ling’Er, what is this place?" Yi Xiaoyao asked.

"This is where I usually practice my Cultivation, the Spirit Refining Pool," Yun Mengling said. "The Chaotic Alliance Domain is just too dangerous. I hope I can help you in some way, Xiaoyao."

The next moment, a push from Yun Mengling sent Yi Xiaoyao tumbling into the water before him.

"Ling’Er, you..."

Before Yi Xiaoyao could finish, he felt a sudden shock. He could sense an incredible amount of Spiritual Power contained within the pool’s water.

"Hee-hee, Xiaoyao, just stay here with me for a little while longer before you go. Maybe this can even help you improve your Cultivation," Yun Mengling said, smiling playfully.

Yi Xiaoyao smiled and sat down cross-legged in the Spirit Refining Pool. He was reluctant to part with Yun Mengling, and a little more time together wouldn’t hurt.

The Spirit Refining Pool certainly lived up to its name. The moment Yi Xiaoyao sat down, a massive amount of incredibly pure and dense Spiritual Power began pouring into his body from all directions.

’No wonder Ling’Er reached the Nascent Soul Realm so quickly,’ Yi Xiaoyao marveled internally. ’Cultivating here is incredibly efficient.’

After that brief moment of admiration, he began to circulate his Cultivation Technique, and a vast Devouring Power erupted from him.

In an instant, the Spiritual Power in the entire Spirit Refining Pool began to boil like never before, drawn in and ravenously devoured by this rampant force.

Yun Mengling squatted nearby, her chin propped in her hands, blinking as she quietly watched Yi Xiaoyao cultivate.

After some time, a sudden cry of alarm came from behind Yun Mengling.

"Hey! Cousin Meng Ling, how could you bring an outsider into the Spirit Refining Pool!"

The newly arrived Yun Shang frowned. When she saw the figure of a man amidst the pool’s mist, her expression soured with extreme displeasure.

Then, Yun Shang stepped closer and saw that the person in the pool was none other than Yi Xiaoyao, the one who had injured her!

"It’s him! How dare he come to our Yun Mansion! Hmph, I’m going to tell Grandfather right now and have him teach this guy a lesson and get justice for me!"

Without waiting for Yun Mengling to speak, Yun Shang turned on her heel and left.

Yun Mengling sighed softly and shook her head. She knew about the bad blood between Yun Shang and Yi Xiaoyao, and being caught in the middle was difficult. However, she was confident that even if Yun Shang went to their grandfather, she would return empty-handed.

Several hours later, Yun Shang, as expected, had not returned.

Meanwhile, in that environment overflowing with Spiritual Power, Yi Xiaoyao suddenly unleashed an astonishing pulse of energy.

"Xiaoyao, you actually broke through to the Second Realm of Nascent Soul!"

Yun Mengling exclaimed with a joyful smile, but her expression quickly fell into sorrow.

This meant that Yi Xiaoyao truly had to leave now.

Yi Xiaoyao opened his eyes. He stepped out of the Spirit Refining Pool and gave a resigned smile when he saw the look on Yun Mengling’s face.

"Ling’Er, when I return, I will marry you!"

Yi Xiaoyao gently ruffled Yun Mengling’s hair and said with a faint smile, "And when that time comes, I will kill anyone who dares to stand in my way!"
