Destiny Mission of game ‘Star Ring’
Chapter 2061 - 1607: Riot (Part 2)
Anason glanced at Su Mo and the others, pondered for a while, and then spoke.
"Everyone, the Lord needs quiet recuperation right now. Also, hanging around here isn’t helping; if there’s an emergency again, in your current state, it’ll be hard to go out and fight. How about each of you leave a trusted person here and go back to rest? I’ll inform you immediately if anything happens."
"I have no objections."
Attic’s expression shifted, then he spoke up.
"Feeling you can’t handle it, losing your nerve?"
Adomo smirked with a hint of sarcasm, seemingly uninterested in the suggestion.
"Bullshit! Who the hell’s losing their nerve."
Attic glared viciously at Adomo, not backing down.
"Enough, stop arguing; what if you wake up Master? I think the proposal is viable."
Su Mo slowly stood up and spoke.
Kathuler also voiced his agreement in a deep tone, "I agree too, but with one additional condition."
"What condition?"
Coret turned and asked.
"If anyone breaks the agreement, we’ll all gang up on him!"
Kathuler revealed a fierce glare, giving Coret an unfriendly look. It seemed that the previous incident where Coret had wronged him hadn’t been forgotten.
"Fine."
Coret appeared indifferent.
"No problem!"
Su Mo led the agreement in response.
Both Attic and Adomo also voiced their agreement.
"No objections."
"Let’s do it."
Anason respectfully saluted Su Mo and the others and said, "Alright, it’s settled then. Everyone, go back and rest."
With the agreement reached, Su Mo and his group withdrew with their subordinates, leaving only one trusted person on watch.
...
Soon after, in an inconspicuous storage room inside the Catastrophe Shadow.
The door was slowly pushed open.
"Who?"
A vigilant voice asked from within the storage room.
"It’s me."
Coret entered.
Inside, a thin man with glasses wearing a white doctor’s coat sighed in relief.
This person was none other than Dr. Rohar’s assistant, Yue Ji.
"No need to worry so much; this area is safe, and it’s also a blind spot for surveillance."
Coret said to Yue Ji.
"Okay, got it."
Yue Ji replied promptly.
"Tell me, how is the Lord’s condition exactly?"
Coret asked directly.
Upon hearing Coret’s inquiry, Yue Ji’s expression immediately became serious, lowering his voice.
"The Lord is extremely ill this time, not faking it."
Hearing this, a look of excitement flashed in Coret’s eyes, and he continued to ask.
"Tell me in detail!"
"The Lord’s collapse this time is different from before. Previously, even when he collapsed, he would wake up in a few days, but this time it’s different. He’s been unconscious for 15 days, which has never happened before. Dr. Rohar conducted a full examination, and the pollution levels on the Lord’s body can’t be measured by the instruments anymore. We’ve tried all sorts of medicines, but none have worked. If it continues like this, and the Lord doesn’t wake up in another seven days, he may pass away."
Yue Ji was trembling slightly as he spoke, as if uttering something treasonous.
Coret’s usually gloomy face showed a rare smile.
"Too good, the old geezer finally can’t hold out."
"But."
Yue Ji suddenly showed a hint of worry and spoke.
"But what."
Coret squinted his eyes and asked.
"But there’s still a variable, and that’s the two Pala Fruits in the lab that are about to ripen. They must not be allowed to mature. If they do, and the Lord uses them, he might just pull through."
Yue Ji told Coret.
"How long until those two Pala Fruits become ripe?"
Coret’s heart sank as he asked.
"I don’t know that; Dr. Rohar hasn’t told me. But my own guess is they’re about to mature, within these few days. So, Lord Coret, you’d better find a way to remove those two Pala Fruits."
Yue Ji replied to Coret.
"I want to, but the damn old man is always watching me. I don’t have access to the lab and can’t get in."
Speaking of this, a trace of resentment appeared on Coret’s face. He had worked for the old man for so many years, braving life and death, yet was still kept at arm’s length.
On the contrary, that damn Su Mo had immediate access to the Deputy Captain’s authority upon arrival, unhindered anywhere on the ship.
"What do we do, if the Pala Fruits really ripen successfully?"
Yue Ji replied anxiously.
Coret’s expression kept changing, and suddenly a thought struck him, bringing a bright smile to his face. He said to Yue Ji,
"You don’t need to worry about the Pala Fruits, I’ll handle it. You’ve done well, once everything settles, I won’t forget your contribution. The Chief Doctor position will be yours."
"Thank you, my Lord."
Yue Ji replied gratefully.
....
Elsewhere, Su Mo returned to his room.
As he lay on the bed, a wave of exhaustion washed over him.
His body was already extremely weak, and now, having spent half a month opposing them, and forcing himself to pilot the Mecha in combat, his mind and body were unbearably exhausted.
Su Mo quickly fell asleep.
In the dead of night.
In a specially hidden mid-level machine room.
Crackle—
The concealed lighting suddenly flickered.
The hidden cameras in the machine room suddenly all went dark.
