She hailed a cab downstairs and gave the driver her home address. Throughout the journey, Bai Qianqian kept looking at the street outside; after five years, her hometown hadn’t changed much, remaining exactly as she remembered.

Upon reaching the Bai Family’s villa, Bai Qianqian paid the fare and got out. As she gazed at the familiar villa before her, her eyes instantly reddened, tears rolling down...

She stood outside the gate, her gaze sweeping slowly over every corner of the house as memories played like a movie in her mind.

Someone came to open the door, and when the housekeeper saw the woman standing at the door, she was momentarily stunned before exclaiming in disbelief, "Miss."

"Housekeeper Auntie, it’s me." Bai Qianqian smiled at her.

Seeing it really was her, the housekeeper immediately opened the door and came out excitedly, grabbing Bai Qianqian’s hand. "Miss, you finally came back. The master and madam have missed you so much! Come on, hurry inside."

"Are my mom and dad home?" Bai Qianqian asked nervously, having finally returned and about to see her family, yet feeling a bit apprehensive.

Five years is neither too long nor too short; she wasn’t sure how her parents had changed.

"The master went to the office, the madam is home. Her health hasn’t been well lately, so she’s been resting at home."

"What’s wrong with my mom’s health?" Bai Qianqian felt a tightness in her chest upon hearing this.

"Just her old ailments, don’t worry." The housekeeper warmly pulled Bai Qianqian inside, immediately calling out, "Madam, Miss is back! Come and see!"

As the housekeeper shouted, Bai Qianqian heard a clatter from the kitchen. She looked over to see her mother hastily walking out from there, standing at the doorway looking toward them.

Bai Qianqian looked at her mother, who had aged somewhat, fine wrinkles at the corners of her eyes. She wanted to smile, but tears fell before she could.

Her mother, looking at her eldest daughter, ran excitedly towards her; Bai Qianqian also hurried to meet her mother, the two embracing tightly. Bai Qianqian could sense the strength with which her mother held her, her longing mirrored by her grip.

Though her mother was just a woman, she held Bai Qianqian so tightly it hurt.

Suddenly, Bai Qianqian’s mother began hitting her, "You heartless child, how could you leave for so long? I thought I’d never see you again in this lifetime... you naughty girl."

Listening to her mother’s cries, Bai Qianqian’s tears flowed continuously. She hugged her mother tightly, repeatedly apologizing, "Mom, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, it’s unfilial of me to have caused you pain."

"It’s good you understand; you’ll never leave me again, never leave us again." Bai Qianqian’s mother held her tightly, crying even harder.

The housekeeper, seeing the reunited mother and daughter, also shed tears. She came to her senses and quickly went to call the master to convey the good news.

In these years, the master has also missed the young miss greatly.

When Bai Qianqian’s mother had finished crying and let the housekeeper call her husband, the housekeeper smilingly informed her she had already done so.

Just as they finished talking, they heard the sound of a vehicle outside, followed by a series of hurried footsteps.

Bai Qianqian’s father walked in, and she looked at her father, who indeed had aged, his temples streaked with white hair. Her yet unchecked tears flowed more violently.

Bai Qianqian ran to her father, embracing him tightly.
