"Bai Jingqing told me to feed her." Beiming Han stopped explaining, put the cup to Baobei’s lips, but Baobei refused to open her mouth, and the medicine flowed down from her lips.

Gu Qingxin’s voice was almost pleading, "Baobei, Mommy’s begging you, please drink the medicine, okay? Don’t go to sleep, don’t scare Mommy."

"Baobei, as long as you’re willing to be good and drink the medicine, Uncle Superman can do anything for you... I’ll even take you to ride the carousel, okay?" Beiming Han also tried to coax Baobei.

Just when Gu Qingxin was falling into despair, Baobei suddenly opened her mouth and started drinking the medicine.

Gu Qingxin could hardly believe her eyes; hope flared up in her heart again. She called softly, "Baobei, open your eyes and look at Mommy, okay?"

Seeing Baobei willing to drink the medicine, Beiming Han also let out a sigh of relief, but when he lifted his head and saw the tears streaming down Gu Qingxin’s face, his heart shattered with pain.

Baobei’s eyelashes trembled lightly a few times; she looked at Beiming Han, then at Mommy, and said softly, "Mommy, Baobei is fine. Baobei is just tired and wants to sleep for a while. Don’t worry, when Baobei has slept enough, she’ll wake up."

After Baobei finished speaking, she closed her eyes again. Gu Qingxin was almost scared to death, but fortunately this time Baobei’s breathing had more or less steadied.

She kept holding her daughter tightly, not daring to relax for even a moment.

"Xin’er, don’t be sad, Baobei will be okay." Beiming Han’s voice was hoarse as he comforted her.

"What did you do to her? If anything happens to her, I will never forgive you!" Gu Qingxin glared at him in hatred, tears rolling down like broken strings of pearls.

He had already hurt Baobei once—did he still want to hurt her a second time?

Beiming Han did not defend himself; he only looked at her with a face full of remorse.

Every single minute and second on the way was torture for Gu Qingxin, and how could it not be the same for Beiming Han.

His heart was full of regret and self-blame. How could he have made such a mistake? Clearly Baobei looked so frail, yet before figuring things out, he had actually taken her out on his own to eat and play.

No wonder Baobei, at such an age, had never been to an amusement park; no wonder it was Baobei’s first time eating ice cream. How could he not have thought about why that was?

When the car arrived at the hospital, Gu Qingxin got out holding Baobei. Bai Jingqing had already been waiting there. Beiming Han was just about to chase after them when someone moved even faster than he did—Rong Qianchen was already standing behind Gu Qingxin, and he went in with her, accompanying Baobei.

Beiming Han watched this scene, his expression changing slightly. Only when their figures disappeared did he come back to his senses and follow them.

"I want to go see Baobei." Beiming Han’s eyes stayed fixed on Gu Qingxin.

"What right do you have to see Baobei? Haven’t you done her enough harm? If anything happens to her, I will never let you off!" Rong Qianchen grabbed Beiming Han by the collar, only to be angrily shoved away by Beiming Han.

"Rong Qianchen, stop testing my patience. Get out of my way!" Beiming Han looked at him coldly.
