Chapter 884: Chapter 438: The Freedom I Gave You Went Too Far (Second Update)
Mr. Gilbert and Caitlin Gilbert walked into the private room and didn’t mention the previous matter again.
But the seated woman looked up and chuckled, asking, "Sister, what kind of handsome man made you forget about Dad and me the moment you left?"
Caitlin giggled and said, "It’s a handsome man you’ve never met before!"
Then she straightforwardly added, "Sis, I fancy him, so don’t fight me for him!"
The woman picked up the teapot and filled the teacups of Mr. Gilbert and Caitlin, casually saying, "As long as you like him, then Dad won’t have to worry about your lifelong matters. Right, Dad?"
Mr. Gilbert took a sip of tea and sighed, "Olivia, you both have grown up. Once you’re married, I, as a father, can relax."
His two daughters, Olivia Gilbert and Caitlin Gilbert, were both graceful and elegant, graduates of prestigious universities, plus, with him as their father, they are destined to lead prosperous and affluent lives.
...
After Lawrence Winters blocked Kenneth Osborne on WeChat, she still felt somewhat angry.
Especially after seeing the last message he sent, it almost made her want to hit someone.
But since she had already blocked him, she felt embarrassed to remove him from the blacklist just to scold him once more and then block him again.
Feeling unsettled, she couldn’t even concentrate on the records of the Celestial Path Sect’s grand championships.
She closed the very classic-looking bound scroll and looked out at the window to admire the scenery.
Outside the window was an unbeatable sea view; the sunset was casting shimmering light on the surface of the sea, and the still reflections were stunningly beautiful, with the purple-red clouds making the sky resplendent.
Her eyesight was excellent; she could even see playful dolphins jumping out of the water, flipping over, and splashing back.
This scenery calmed her mood, allowing her to peacefully return to reading.
And indeed, the book was fascinating, so much so that she even suspected that the person who wrote these records must have unleashed their imagination and started novel creation...
Before long, the room’s bell rang; it was the maid urging her to go to the dining room for dinner.
She put the scroll back into the drawer and left the room.
Walking down the spiral staircase, a maid dressed in a white shirt and black pants bowed at the bottom of the stairs and said to her, "Miss Winters, please go to the terrace, tonight’s dinner is set up there."
Lawrence Winters responded with an "Oh" and nodded, "Thank you."
She turned and headed to the terrace, the place where she had shared afternoon tea with them on her first day here.
On the terrace, a long table covered with a white tablecloth was already set up.
Richard Stetford sat at the head of the table, looking at Aiden Sheldon in the first seat to his left, the two were engrossed in conversation.
Autumn Stetford, Ruby Sheldon, Ava Harlow, and Spring Spencer sat on the other side.
The four of them were also chatting, but when Lawrence Winters approached, they stopped talking.
Autumn Stetford wore a pleasant smile and nodded to her, "Miss Winters, you’ve finally arrived, have a seat, make yourself comfortable."
Ruby Sheldon looked at her happily and said, "Sister Winters, are you all ready? Tomorrow is the first day of the preliminary round, I’ve heard there will be a lot of people, and it might be quite chaotic!"
Lawrence Winters: "..."
She quietly took a seat directly across from them, leaving one seat between her and Aiden Sheldon.
That seat was reserved for Evan Stetford.
After sitting down, she nodded to Autumn Stetford and Ruby Sheldon, "Mrs. Sheldon, Miss Sheldon, good evening. Have we informed Evan? He’s been really busy lately."
"My little uncle has indeed been too busy, I hardly talked to him these days, and he’s never around," Ruby Sheldon pouted, "Mommy, why don’t you help little uncle? I’m afraid he’s so busy he doesn’t even have time to sleep."
Lawrence Winters defended Evan Stetford and said, "Evan is preparing for the grand championships; it’s just a few more days, once the competition starts, he’ll have some free time."
"My mom also prepared for this competition, but not as busy as little uncle," Ruby Sheldon sneered, "Little uncle is something else; what’s so good about that competition? Isn’t it better to just sit and watch? Dealing with those Celestial Path Sect folks, I think it’s demeaning."
Lawrence Winters: "..."
This roundabout way of scolding is getting more skillful.
She took a can of coconut juice, poured it into a crystal glass, and smiled, "It’s Evan’s first time organizing, it’s inevitable he spends more time. Maybe Mrs. Sheldon spent even more time when she first organized, isn’t that right, Mrs. Sheldon?"
Lawrence Winters tactfully shifted the topic to Autumn Stetford.
