Desolate Devouring Art

Chapter 1889 - Massacre

  • Next Chapter

Murderous intent erupted from Blackie in a violent tide, and it could barely stop itself from charging out to exact revenge at once.

"Easy. We'll kill them slowly," Liu Wuxie said, gently patting Blackie until it settled down. With their enemies already within reach, they had no reason to rush.

Cultivators crowded the chamber in overwhelming numbers, surrounded by pitch-black darkness and stone walls that sealed every side.

One after another, the cultivators produced luminous pearls and embedded them in the walls, gradually pushing back the darkness. The glow couldn't rival daylight, but it illuminated the chamber well enough for everyone to see their surroundings.

The Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron abruptly swelled in size as Liu Wuxie stepped out. As soon as he emerged, he activated the Ghost Pupil and Divine Tribulation Pupil simultaneously. His vision pierced the maze of intersecting tunnels, swiftly revealing the locations of the other cultivators.

Liu Wuxie promptly sealed the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron again, preventing Qin Shuang from witnessing what he intended to do next. He didn't distrust Qin Shuang. However, if news spread that he had massacred so many people, the revelation would undoubtedly provoke an enormous uproar.

Above all else, Liu Wuxie had to keep the existence of the Divine Penta Elemental Bolt hidden from the world.

"If logic still applies here, leaving the kidneys should've brought us into the bladder. So where the hell is the exit?" one cultivator asked. Small groups had gathered throughout the chamber, discussing their situation while taking stock of everything they had gained and lost.

"Who says we're truly inside a giant's body? Maybe the Ancient Origin Spatial Realm was simply built this way," another cultivator replied, rolling his eyes. He still couldn't bring himself to believe that they were traveling through the body of an actual giant.

Executing the third form of the Divine Ninefold Step, Liu Wuxie erased his presence and silently closed in. He halted several hundred meters from the crowd as a cruel smile crept across his lips.

"Blackie, take care of anyone who slips through the net," Liu Wuxie instructed as he released Blackie, sending it to guard the exit.

The Divine Penta Elemental Bolt contained horrifying destructive power, and Liu Wuxie planned to wipe out everyone with a single strike. That meant he couldn't permit even one person to escape.

At last, the madness blazing in Liu Wuxie's eyes broke free, and he openly bared his fangs.

Understanding his intention, Blackie nodded. After battling alongside each other for so many days, they had forged an extraordinary rapport.

Liu Wuxie turned his palm over, and a Divine Penta Elemental Bolt materialized. He immediately located Shen Can, the strongest individual in the chamber. Once Shen Can died, the remaining cultivators would pose little threat to him.

"Go!" Liu Wuxie commanded, launching the orb from his palm. It ripped across the chamber like a thunderbolt, resembling a black meteor hurtling through the air.

Shen Can remained seated in meditation, his eyes firmly shut. As he approached the edge of the Ancient Origin Spatial Realm, the seal restraining his cultivation had begun to weaken, though he still hadn't released his true aura.

The instant the Divine Penta Elemental Bolt streaked toward him, Shen Can's eyes snapped open. His instincts screamed of danger, prompting him to seize Shen Shui and wrench him forward as a shield.

A deafening detonation ripped through the chamber when the Divine Penta Elemental Bolt exploded. A devastating storm surged outward while a violent vortex swallowed the surrounding space, vaporizing countless cultivators before a single scream could leave their throats.

The savage shockwave ravaged the chamber, tearing rocks from the ceiling and sending them crashing down like rain. The entire chamber shuddered beneath that terrifying force, teetering on the brink of collapse.

"What the hell just happened?!" cried the cultivators farther from the blast. Even at that distance, the shockwave hurled them into the stone walls with bone-crushing force, sending blood spraying from their mouths.

That single Divine Penta Elemental Bolt slaughtered five to six hundred cultivators, carpeting the ground with mutilated corpses and severed limbs.

"My leg... my leg!"

"My hand! No, my hand!"

"My waist... my waist!"

"My head... where's my body?" The explosion had decapitated many cultivators, leaving their bodies crumpled in one place and their heads scattered elsewhere. Some headless bodies even clawed their way toward their heads, desperately trying to retrieve and reattach them.

Agonized shrieks echoed through every corner of the chamber, painting a spectacle too horrific to describe in words. Most of the dead were Profound Immortals.

The shockwave struck the very moment Shen Can dragged Shen Shui before him. Shen Shui absorbed the full impact. The blast instantly reduced him to drifting ashes, like a sheet of paper consumed by flame.

Despite using Shen Shui as a shield, Shen Can still felt blistering heat sear his skin as the stench of scorched flesh filled his nostrils. The flames had incinerated every strand of his hair, leaving his head completely bald. Even his clothing slowly disintegrated beneath the unbearable heat, revealing the close-fitting soft armor concealed underneath.

None of the other Shen Clan disciples survived, and the Zhu Clan fared little better. Despite standing farther from Shen Can, they still suffered devastating losses in the explosion.

Even Liu Wuxie could only stare in stunned disbelief at the corpses strewn across the chamber. Not even he had anticipated the modified Divine Penta Elemental Bolt unleashing such devastating power.

"That's Liu Wuxie," someone shouted.

The explosion had demolished the nearby walls, stripping away Liu Wuxie's cover and exposing him completely to the crowd.

"You're a demon, Liu Wuxie! Look at how many people you've slaughtered," a survivor roared. No words could describe the storm of emotions raging through those still alive. Only moments ago, every corpse scattered across the floor had been a living, breathing person.

"Anyone who chooses to kill must be ready to die," Liu Wuxie answered, his voice colder than ice.

He refused to waste his breath debating with them. His own strength and Blackie's aid had carried him through every deadly ordeal, while these people had tried to take his life time and again. In his eyes, even a hundred deaths couldn't atone for their actions. He was merely repaying them in kind.

Two more Divine Penta Elemental Bolts materialized in Liu Wuxie's hands. Without hesitation, he flung them toward the two densest clusters of cultivators.

"Run! Everyone, run!" someone screamed. After witnessing the ruin wrought by the first orb, they finally grasped the true horror of the Divine Penta Elemental Bolts. Each one possessed enough power to kill cultivators at the pinnacle of the Profound Immortal Realm.

The two orbs detonated almost at the same instant. Their shockwaves collided and overlapped, sweeping through the chamber with destructive force far exceeding that of the first explosion.

Another mountain of corpses crashed to the ground while furious curses thundered through the chamber.

"Fuck you, Liu Wuxie!"

"May you die a miserable death, Liu Wuxie!"

"I curse every one of the eighteen generations of your ancestors, Liu Wuxie!"

"I'll kill you, Liu Wuxie!" Countless cultivators threw caution to the wind and charged at Liu Wuxie, while the rest fled desperately toward the exit.

Whenever anyone tried to escape, Blackie sprang into action. Its black staff crashed down without pause, bursting heads like watermelons one after another.

The carnage had grown too gruesome for the eye to endure. Terror overwhelmed many female cultivators, leaving them with no choice but to collapse into tears.

"Please, Liu Wuxie, don't kill me! I'll be your dog," numerous cultivators begged. They fell to their knees and repeatedly slammed their foreheads against the ground, pleading frantically for mercy. Yet not one of them had offered such words when they had surrounded him in the Kidney Palace.

Their desperation stirred no emotion in Liu Wuxie. Without showing even a trace of pity, he summoned two more Divine Penta Elemental Bolts into his hands.

The charging cultivators froze at the sight of those two black orbs. Every shred of courage deserted them, and they instantly scattered in all directions.

"Spread out! The blast radius of those orbs is limited," Zhu Li shouted after finally regaining his composure. If everyone continued clustering together, they would become Liu Wuxie's perfect target.

The cultivators dispersed at once, flattening themselves against the stone walls and opening the greatest possible distance between one another.

The successive explosions had riddled the walls with countless cracks, allowing slender rays of light to filter through. Once those walls collapsed completely, everyone would finally be able to escape the Ancient Origin Spatial Realm.

Wei Wenbin, Jiang Hongran, and Shen Chao had concealed themselves in an isolated corner, allowing them to escape the worst of the previous explosions.

Only moments earlier, more than five thousand cultivators had occupied the chamber. Now, barely three thousand were still alive. Unleashed upon a true battlefield, such destructive power would inspire absolute terror.

"What are we supposed to do now?" Jiang Hongran asked, his voice quivering with panic.

Despite being a dignified peak Profound Immortal, a mere Spirit Immortal had frightened him out of his wits. The faint stench of urine even rose from his trousers. Death reduced everyone to the same trembling fear, and Jiang Hongran proved no exception.

Liu Wuxie had already predicted that the cultivators would spread out, so their reaction didn't trouble him. Seven Divine Penta Elemental Bolts remained in his possession, and by his estimation, that was more than enough to slaughter everyone in the chamber.

The overwhelming might of the Divine Penta Elemental Bolts had crushed their courage, and no one dared approach him. Every step they put between themselves and him offered another sliver of safety.

Blackie's staff continued to fall, and more than a hundred cultivators had already died beneath its blows. Crimson blood drenched its entire body. It licked its bloodstained lips, then directed a provocative stare at Shen Can.

"Calm down, everyone. Split into several groups and charge at Liu Wuxie simultaneously. Even if he throws out several orbs, some of us will still break through and tear him apart," Zhu Li shouted after drawing a steadying breath. He understood that restoring everyone's morale at this critical moment mattered more than anything else.

As long as they remained scattered and disorganized, Liu Wuxie could slaughter them at his leisure.

"Young Master Zhu is right. We'll break into several groups and force Liu Wuxie to face all of us at once," some cultivators said.

Blackie was occupied with guarding the exit and couldn't rush to Liu Wuxie's aid. At last, the cultivators saw the opportunity they desperately needed.

Those pressed against the walls nodded in unison, accepting Zhu Li's proposal.

More than three thousand cultivators swiftly divided into groups numbering several hundred each. Seven or eight teams arranged themselves into a fan-shaped formation and advanced toward Liu Wuxie. No matter which direction he attacked, the other groups could close in from another angle.

A frigid smirk touched Liu Wuxie's lips. Did they honestly believe he hadn't anticipated such a strategy? He still held seven Divine Penta Elemental Bolts. Even if they didn't kill every cultivator, they could grievously wound at least ninety percent of them. Afterward, the survivors would pose little threat, and with Blackie's help, eliminating them would be effortless.

Three Divine Penta Elemental Bolts manifested in Liu Wuxie's hand simultaneously. His earlier attacks had served only as experiments. He had yet to reveal their full destructive potential.

Through those tests, Liu Wuxie had discovered that launching the Divine Penta Elemental Bolts at half-a-breath intervals produced the greatest power. Once the first orb detonated, he could send the second into its lingering shockwave, merging their destructive forces and driving them outward like a relentlessly expanding tide.

A single shockwave lacked sufficient destructive power, but what would happen when wave after wave followed, each more powerful than the last?

The teams closed in swiftly while Shen Can lingered at the rear. With not a single strand of hair remaining on his scalp, he looked somewhat ridiculous.

"Closer... just a little closer," Liu Wuxie murmured. He showed no urgency and waited for them to approach, knowing that every step they came closer would make the coming shockwaves even more devastating.

"Die, Liu Wuxie," the cultivators roared. Hundreds of swords surged forward together, converging upon Liu Wuxie from every direction.

Launching attacks from such a distance made little sense, yet the sheer scale of the barrage still filled Blackie with unease. It feared that the overwhelming number of attacks would engulf Liu Wuxie.

As soon as the advancing teams crossed within a hundred meters, Liu Wuxie launched the first Divine Penta Elemental Bolt. Half a breath later, the second tore free from his grasp, followed by the third. The three Divine Penta Elemental Bolts ripped through the air in succession, forming a triangular formation.

The approaching teams scattered wildly the moment they saw the Divine Penta Elemental Bolts flying toward them. The fragile unity they had struggled to create shattered without resistance. Such an outcome surprised no one. These cultivators had assembled from every corner of the celestial realm, and each secretly hoped the others would die first, leaving them to reap the rewards afterward.

A helpless sigh escaped Zhu Li as he watched their formation collapse, but he still hastily dodged aside.

Faced with the incoming swords, Liu Wuxie summoned the Sky Devouring Divine Cauldron and swallowed every last one. At this stage, ordinary Profound Immortals could no longer threaten him.
