Chapter 599: Reunited

Chapter 599: Reunited

The girls didn’t give him time to do more than sit up before hands guided him from the bed, already deciding the flow of the morning. The bath was prepared quickly, steam rising as warm water filled the space and chased away the last traces of their heated encounter.

Kaiden found himself settled at the center of it all while the girls took over, laughter and soft conversation filling the room as they worked together. They washed him with great care, hands moving confidently, scrubbing the crevices of his body while, just for added effect, they also lathered soap on their perky breasts and scrubbed him down a second time.

He leaned back and accepted it with an easy grin, letting the tension bleed from his shoulders as they fussed over him like it was the most natural thing in the world.

The atmosphere stayed relaxed and intimate. They handled everything for him, passing soap and cloths between themselves, making sure he stayed still while they finished the job properly. Kaiden didn’t argue.

He knew if he tried to wash himself, the only result would be a lot of pouts and hissing, so he simply let himself enjoy being taken care of. By the time they were done, he felt sparkly clean.

Getting ready afterward was simple with everyone slipping back into their usual rhythms as clothes were chosen and gear checked. The mood shifted from indulgent to focused without losing its warmth, eager for what came now.

It was time to show off the rewards for their efforts.

Together, they left the room and stepped into the common area.

Alice’s eyes lit up the instant Kaiden emerged.

“Big brother, you’re back!” the girl with mismatched hair and eyes shouted.

She didn’t even hesitate. The shift happened mid-step, her body dissolving into shadowy motes that spiraled upward before reforming as a sleek, familiar presence above him. A smooth, black halo settled atop his head. The sensation was warm and comforting, like a familiar weight returning where it belonged.

<You took too long!> Alice huffed inside his head, her voice sharp but threaded with unmistakable relief. <I thought you’d never return.>

Kaiden blinked once, then smiled. <Too long?> he replied, amused. <I checked. It was one day.>

<A day is far too much!!> She scoffed immediately, tone indignant and dramatic in the way only she could manage.

<Alright, alright,> Kaiden conceded easily, already used to this dance.

Her presence pressed closer. <Explain yourself. Properly.>

<So…>

While the two of them conversed in that private, shared space, the world continued to move around them.

Alexandra, now standing a little straighter than before, smoothed her frilly demonic maid outfit and stepped forward with a soft smile. The sharp edges she usually carried felt dulled, replaced by something lighter, more at ease. “Welcome back,” she said warmly, eyes flicking between Kaiden and the girls. “Congratulations on your success. Even I can tell that you’re stronger than before.”

Nyx noticed it instantly.

Her gaze lingered on Alexandra for a fraction longer than necessary, pupils narrowing with focused interest. “You feel different somehow. What happened?”

Alexandra’s face brightened in a way that made the answer arrive before the words did. She clasped her hands together, practically glowing. “Alice accepted me as her friend!” she said, pride swelling in her voice. “She called me that herself, without being prompted!”

The group stopped.

All five girls froze mid-step, mid-motion, mid-breath. Even Calypso paused, one brow lifting as a slow, entertained smile spread across her face. “The little sister did that?”

Kaiden was even more shocked than the girls. He simply stared, his mind-conversation coming to an abrupt halt.

The girl whose world revolved entirely around him, whose attention rarely strayed, whose emotional orbit barely allowed space for anyone else, had accepted someone as a friend.

Not as a caretaker or servant she tolerated, but as a friend she cherished…?

The realization hit him harder than any system notification could have. His expression softened immediately, pride blooming warm and genuine in his chest.

He smiled brightly at Alexandra. “Thank you for taking care of Alice while I was away. It seems leaving you two together was a much better decision than I ever could’ve predicted.”

Alexandra stiffened, then flushed, shoulders drawing in slightly as old trauma toward men flared before she could stop them. “I-it was my pleasure,” she said quickly, voice wavering before she steadied it again.

Aria tilted her head, eyes sparkling. “You aren’t as flustered as before,” she chirped, clearly delighted.

Alexandra blinked. “You think so…?” Her blush deepened, but she didn’t retreat.

“For sure,” Luna added with a toothy grin. “You looked like you were in a horror movie when Kaiden entered the same room before. Now… You’re just like a socially inept woman with a stutter. The difference is colossal!”

“… Thanks?” The maid wasn’t sure if she should accept that as a good thing.

Bastet laughed at her adorable reaction. “Ignore the gremlin. I’ve spent only weeks in human society, but I’ve already acclimated so much better than she did in over eighteen years. She’s the real socially inept woman. You did an excellent job, blondie.”

“Hah?!?!” Luna stomped on the ground.

But Bastet did not retreat, merely smiling with a sly expression.

“Something happened in that trial of yours…” The Storm Valkyrie realized.

That was when Nyx turned sharply and glared at the tanned kitten. “Hey, that’s my way of calling Alexandra!”

“And I just stole it,” Bastet replied with a wide, unapologetic grin. “What are you going to do about it?”

Nyx’s glare sharpened, pink eyes locking onto Bastet with focused intensity. The felinid met it without flinching, her own golden gaze lazy and amused, tail swaying in an unbothered arc behind her. The air between them carried a brief, silent standoff that drew everyone’s attention.

Then Nyx smiled.

It was slow and full of mischief. “I’ll do nothing about it,” she said lightly. Her gaze flicked toward Alexandra, amusement dancing across her features. “In fact, I think we should all call her blondie.”

Alexandra visibly shrank in on herself. “I’d rather you did not…” she murmured.

Her request vanished under immediate consensus.

“Sure, it sounds nice,” Calypso said with casual approval. She stepped forward and clapped a hand against Alexandra’s back with enough force to send her stumbling forward. Alexandra let out a small yelp as she nearly pitched ahead, only for Calypso to catch her easily by the arm and pull her upright again. “Oops,” the demoness mused. “My bad there.”

She rolled her shoulder, then flexed both arms, thick muscle bunching visibly beneath her red skin. With a satisfied hum, she leaned down and kissed her own biceps once, then again. “I need to get recalibrated, it seems. I got stronger.”

Alexandra stood rigid in her grip. “Uh… no problem…” she whispered, clearly unsure how to process any of that.

“Blondie is fine by me. It lacks my creativity, but we can’t expect more from bimbos. All their brain power is taken up by supplying their fat reserves,” Luna shrugged, arms crossing as she nodded to herself.

“Hey.” Nyx and Bastet blinked.

“Yeah, it fits!” Aria agreed immediately, smiling bright and untroubled.

Alexandra paused, then lifted her head just enough to look between them. She looked hurt and betrayed. “Because I’m a dumb, big-titted woman who needs saving all the time?”

All Valkyries and tanned kittens present froze. The demoness merely grinned.
