Or perhaps he knew but said nothing. If it were the latter, Osborne couldn’t tell why he would do that.
’Though I still don’t know what this thing means...’ He didn’t understand why he got the feeling he got from the rabbits from this place.
He believed the rabbits were nothing more than crazed animals, maybe monsters?
"Wait a minute..." Something suddenly crossed his mind.
’Is it possible that they were in fact demonic beasts?’
’If that were the case, then does that mean the reason I feel the same feeling here is because there are demons here as well?’ His expression hardened just thinking of it.
He had called Clawdeth over and told her to play things out with him, in hopes of someone from this household seeing.
He wanted them to believe she held no warmth towards their group, or at least have a good enough reason to turn against them, so he could get her closer to them.
If that happened, getting information out of them would be easier, and he wouldn’t need to soil his hands or create a mess.
He lay back on the bed, staring at the ceiling.
He still wasn’t sure for a fact that it had something to do with demons. After all, he had never read about anything like that in the early part of the novel he read.
Nevertheless, he didn’t throw such thoughts out the window, because he believed there was a chance that perhaps it happened outside the main story.
Such occurrences weren’t impossible.
As for the probability of it meaning that perhaps this world wasn’t an exact copy of the Webnovel, he found that notion the hardest to believe.
After all, everything had matched up to this point.

Thump~!
"..?!!"
Osborne jolted awake in the middle of the night. The moon’s radiant glow illuminating his room.
His eyes glanced around him, vigilant, but there was nothing to be found.
Clawdeth woke up right after, looking at him. "Is something the matter, my lord?" She raised a brow and asked.
’What was that just now...’
Osborne remained silent.
’It felt like my heart... no, why did my mana heart suddenly react like that?’ He pondered to himself.
"It’s nothing... Just a nightmare," Osborne said.
Clawdeth, who didn’t care to begin with, simply went back to sleep.
Osborne placed a hand against his chest, the silence of the room enveloping him.
He let out a breath, closing his eyes to return to sleep.
THUMP~!
That same heartbeat returned again, forcing his eyes open.
’There it is again,’ he said. His head turning towards the window.
He quickly got off the bed before making his way to it.
Osborne looked out the window. All that could be seen were thick trees stretching out.
The estate enveloped in night, nocturnal sounds filling the air.
"...?!" Osborne blinked his eyes in disbelief when he spotted two golden glowing orbs deep within the forest.
’What in the world?’ He unconsciously rubbed his eyes, taken aback. Just now, those two things gave him the feeling of being watched.
"...." Osborne’s lips pressed thin, because after looking away for that short moment, those things were gone.
He closed his eyes, placing his hand to his chest again, as if trying to recreate the same feeling, but no matter what he did, nothing happened.
’It’s too late to do anything now. I’ll wait till morning.’ He let out a yawn.
In the end, Osborne decided to put it aside for now and head to sleep.
---
The next day, Osborne woke up feeling refreshed.
"Hey, get up." He sat up straight at the edge of the bed, then used his feet to gently nudge Clawdeth, who was still asleep on the floor.
Clawdeth groaned then got up.
Osborne then asked her to inform the servants to help prep him a hot bath.
She left the room without a word, her hair a mess from sleeping on the floor.
She returned sometime later and led him to the bath house.
Osborne entered. "You’re here too?" He raised a brow when he saw Gilhound as well.
"My lord, I had no idea you were..." Gilhound didn’t know what to say.
Osborne turned to Clawdeth. Clawdeth then explained to him that the servants were asked to bathe together.
Since he was playing the part of a servant, such rules naturally fell to him as well.
Gilhound was confused and asked why that was a problem, only after Osborne explained his thoughts to him did he understand.
"Even so." Gilhound began. "I’ll just wait outside until you’re done, my lord."
"It’s alright." Osborne waved his hand dismissively.
It wasn’t like he would die from bathing with another.
"Then I’ll be waiting for you outside," Clawdeth said before stepping out.
Both men then got into the water, but due to the unexpected situation, the atmosphere was rather awkward—for Gilhound, of course.
’Is he going to remain like that throughout the bath...’ Osborne thought to himself, letting out a sigh.
"You’re an eager man. How about we have ourselves a little game?" Osborne said, trying to dispel the tense atmosphere.
"What type of game, my lord?" Gilhound asked.
"Whoever can remain submerged the longest wins."
Gilhound raised a brow, then nodded lightly. "Alright."
"But what are the stakes?"
"How about the loser has to do one thing the winner asks."
Gilhound feigned a sunken look. "Then does it even matter if I win?"
"Hey now, I’m a man of my word. If you win, I promise to hold up my end of the deal." Osborne chuckled.
Gilhound pursed his lips before letting out a breath.
"On the count of three," Osborne said.
"One, two, three." Both men dived into the bath.
Gilhound sucked in a huge mouthful of air before submerging. His eyes closed.
Osborne, on the other hand, smirked as he began to submerge.
Midway, he hopped right into the sub-space.
Osborne stood amidst the vast grassland, his body wet, water dripping off his form.
He used a hand to push his hair back.
’Alright, that should buy me at least a few hours here,’ he said to himself.
There was no mana in this space, so he came here in hopes of training his body again.
’It feels kinda strange standing out here like this...’ he thought to himself.
The next moment, a fresh set of clothes covered his form.
"Much better." Osborne smirked before dropping down for a set of push-ups, one of the few sets he planned on doing with his gained time.
"If I can keep getting situations like this, it shouldn’t be long before I can convince Gilhound to teach me how to engrave my first star," he said as he pushed himself up before returning down.
"22, 23, 24, 25..."
Continuing over and over again.
In a few seconds, he had already done over 20, yet felt no exhaustion whatsoever.
Moreover, he was using each rep to keep track of time so as not to cause any suspicions the moment he returned.
---
"Uwaaah~!" Gilhound surfaced, gasping for breath.
He rubbed his eyes, feeling out of breath.
He glanced next to him but still didn’t see Osborne.
"Looks like you win, my lord," he said, catching his breath.
Yet all he got in return was silence.
"...."
"Umm... My lord?" Gilhound swam closer to the spot Osborne once was, but still didn’t receive any reply.
’No, no, no, no, don’t tell me he ended up drowning himself?!’ He swam closer, grasping at the water to try and pull him out.
’If he drowns, how am I supposed to explain to her ladyship?’ Gilhound began feeling more and more anxious.
"Don’t worry, my lord! I’ll save you–" He cried out.
"Uhh, what are you doing?" Only to hear a voice come from behind him.
"My lord?" Gilhound was caught off guard when he saw Osborne out of the bath, drying his hair with a towel, his muscular body on display, the only source of clothing on him being the towel that wrapped around his waist.
"I thought...." Gilhound didn’t know what to say.
"Hurry up and get out of there already." Osborne said, turning around, heading out of the bath. "We still have work to do today. Don’t forget why we came here," he added.
"Coming, my lord." Gilhound said, already rushing out.
’Well, that was unexpected.’ Osborne let out a sigh. ’I ended up coming out earlier. Looks like I underestimated the difference an aura user has to a normal human,’ he said.
’Next time, I’ll keep that in mind before leaving,’ he added.
---
Osborne, Gilhound, and Clawdeth stood together, finally dressed and ready to depart.
"Might I ask where you three are headed?" Someone said.
Their gazes shifted to see a young man with brunette hair approach them.
The Baron’s son.
"Greetings, young master." The three of them bowed to him.
He gave them a simple nod.
"The three of us were about to head out to see if we can discover any clues regarding the bandits’ whereabouts," Gilhound explained.
The Baron’s son, who Osborne had learned was named William, raised a brow.
"You’re off to catch them alone? What of his lordship? Isn’t he coming with you?"
