Chapter 112: Chapter 112:

Chapter 112:

Osborne looked at the kneeling werewolf, taking a moment to examine her condition before nodding in acknowledgment, because unlike Vanessa, who had spent a considerable amount of time trapped in isolation, Hana appeared to have recovered enough to carry out simple tasks without much difficulty.

Fortunately, she had appeared in her werewolf form, which allowed her to maintain a reasonable level of dignity despite being summoned without any warning.

If she had been in her human form, Hana honestly did not know how she would have handled the humiliation of appearing before her new master without any clothes, especially considering that she had barely become accustomed to the situation she now found herself in.

Even though she had already accepted her current circumstances, there were still certain things she was not prepared to experience, and being summoned naked in front of the man who had defeated her was certainly one of them.

’Thank goodness I was already transformed when he summoned me.’

Hana silently thanked whatever luck had allowed her to appear in her current form, while keeping her head lowered as she waited for Osborne to explain why he had called her out of the sub-space.

Although she had not been subjected to the same prolonged isolation as Vanessa, she had still spent enough time under her young miss’s care to understand that their current master was not someone she should underestimate.

When Vanessa had explained what had happened after their defeat, Hana’s original impression of Osborne had changed considerably, because she had initially regarded him as little more than a cheating scoundrel who had used an unfair method to defeat her.

After all, she had been a Beta, a werewolf who possessed enough strength and experience to dominate most ordinary opponents, yet she had been defeated and captured by a man whose abilities she could barely understand.

However, after hearing Vanessa describe the strange powers he possessed, the way he had defeated the lightning wolves, and the resources he could provide, Hana could no longer dismiss him as someone who had simply relied on a cheap trick.

Instead, she had begun to regard him as a person who deserved her caution, because there was clearly much more to him than she had originally assumed.

’What could Master possibly need from me when he has already given the young miss the responsibility of training those beasts?’

Hana kept her thoughts to herself, remaining obedient as she waited for his instructions, while wondering whether she had done something wrong or if he had simply decided that her abilities would be useful for another task.

Meanwhile, Osborne observed her behavior with quiet satisfaction, because her immediate response upon being summoned suggested that Vanessa had taken his earlier instructions seriously and had also spent some time explaining their current situation to her subordinate.

’It seems Vanessa has done a decent job educating her, which saves me the trouble of explaining.’

He did not particularly care whether Hana feared him, respected him, or simply understood that disobedience would bring unpleasant consequences, because what mattered was that she could follow instructions without creating unnecessary problems.

After all, he had not captured the two werewolves because he wanted to spend his days supervising them, and if they could prove useful enough to justify the resources he invested in them, then keeping them alive would be far more beneficial than killing them for a small amount of demonic essence.

"Look around you and tell me what you see," Osborne instructed, gesturing toward the Moonlight Grass that covered the clearing.

Hana raised her head and followed the direction of his hand, but she initially looked somewhat confused because she had been too focused on her new master to pay attention to her surroundings.

However, the moment her eyes settled on the silver herbs growing throughout the clearing, her entire body stiffened, and the expression beneath her werewolf features changed as she realised what she was looking at.

"Is this... Moonlight Grass?"

Her voice carried a hint of disbelief as she slowly turned her head, looking across the clearing and realising that the precious herb was growing in such enormous quantities that she could hardly believe her eyes.

Not only that, but the allure showed that their purity wasn’t to be underestimated.

Moonlight Grass was not an ordinary plant that could be collected whenever someone needed it, and even a small quantity could attract the attention of people who understood its value, yet there were so many of them growing here that the entire clearing appeared to have been covered with silver treasures.

As a former head maid, Hana was familiar with the importance of rare resources.

But right now, her own body could not help feeling an alluring pull toward the herbs as she stood among them.

As if they were tempting her to devour them outright.

’How did Master manage to find so much Moonlight Grass?’

Hana’s mind trembled as she considered the implications of the discovery, because obtaining even a small quantity of the herb would have been impressive enough, yet Osborne had somehow located an entire clearing filled with it.

Most believed the herb itself was simply grass that grew beneath the moonlight, but that wasn’t close to the complete truth at all.

Not only were they hard to find, but they weren’t known to grow in abundance so packed together like this.

You’d be lucky to even find several patches in one area, not to mention an entire small field.

Which was why they were sold at five silver a piece.

It sounded funny, but a silver was no different from an average commoner’s monthly salary.

She had originally believed that Vanessa might have exaggerated some of his abilities when describing him, but after seeing the Moonlight Grass with her own eyes, Hana began to understand why her young miss had warned her to be careful around this man.

’Perhaps Master really is as incredible as the young miss said.’

While Hana was still trying to process the sight before her, Osborne gave her enough time to look around before finally speaking again.
