Yang Yu’s brain, like it’s about to spark, rapidly processes.

He knows that if he continues to hesitate and refuses to sacrifice anyone, as Lux grows stronger, victory will only become more distant, leading to the downfall of the entire army.

The vortex of Magical Power hovering in the sky spins once more, and the aura of destruction spreads across the horizon.

Falling from the sky, Yang Yu, using the “Incredible Braking Boots,” lands steadily on the ground.

Looking up at Lux suspended in the sky, Yang Yu finally makes up his mind.

In the world where Yang Yu once lived, there were such people who, despite encountering countless difficulties, did not give up.

They created the era Yang Yu lived in, which allows Yang Yu to sit at home enjoying various games.

Yang Yu, like most people, never forgot their achievements.

The era they lived in was fraught with challenges. They surely faced numerous bitter decisions, just like Yang Yu now.

Officers who share joys and sorrows with soldiers know what consequences their orders bring, but they cannot make erroneous judgments merely because familiar people may die.

Soldiers also understand the meaning behind the orders; they might have feared, but ultimately, they still charge ahead to achieve their goals, without looking back.

Past civilizations developed devices that allowed resurrection and natural death; the initial intention may have been to compensate soldiers fighting in the frontline, allowing them to experience a complete life, not just expand their own combat power.

“The devices left by past civilizations still exist; this really is a stroke of immense luck.”

Yang Yu’s eyes gradually change.

Inside them, there is no grief, no hatred, only a thirst for victory.

“Resurrection, right?

Complete control over the Holy Sword, right?

In your era, the Holy Sword could be destroyed…

This means the chance to defeat you is not zero.”

Exhaling deeply, Yang Yu’s Sword Blade rapidly dances in the air, conveying his thoughts to every surviving companion.

When holding the Holy Sword, Yang Yu can see the sword’s durability.

Legendary Equipment has self-repairing abilities; as long as it’s not used for a long time, it can essentially replenish itself.

To rapidly reduce the durability of Legendary Equipment, either prepare powerful and intensive attacks, focusing on one point to break through; or use attacks that surpass the tolerance limit of the equipment, to bombard it from every angle.

After the Sword Blade finishes its dance, blocks of Golden Glass quickly form in the sky.

Under the cover of his companions, Yang Yu, without reservation, unleashes his full power, stepping on the floating Golden Glass like a Hurricane, swiftly passing by Lux’s side, instantly unleashing a barrage of attacks.

Lux transferred his consciousness to the Holy Sword, like some unruly Artifact Spirit completely occupying the body of its owner, manipulating the corpse of Vorquis.

But, Lux far surpasses ordinary Artifact Spirits.

Even if Lux loses one or two fingers amidst Yang Yu’s concentrated attacks, Lux can manipulate Devil King’s Power to shape his body using the surrounding Magical Power.

He doesn’t need to worry about the user’s body getting damaged like ordinary Artifact Spirits would.

Yang Yu’s attacks grow faster, often before Lux fully perceives a single action of Yang Yu, the next second, Yang Yu is in another place, delivering a blow.

Lux increasingly realizes the growing power gap between himself and Yang Yu.

But, he will not lose.

He absolutely cannot lose.

As a former Hero, Lux has battled various enemies, naturally knowing that facing foes in their area of expertise requires avoiding their edge.

Lux has thought it through very clearly.

In this battle, as long as it drags on, it’s his victory.

However.

The longer it drags on, the more variables there are.

The source of these variables is Yang Yu’s companions.

Lux previously regarded Yang Yu as a significant threat, needing priority treatment, thus somewhat overlooking those by Yang Yu’s side, which ultimately led to Yongfang Chunlan being ambushed, dying before his eyes.

Since just now, Bai Jin has only released a small amount of Magic; she surely is secretly brewing something.

To resolve the predicament Yang Yu faces, Li Yan and Lotcar sacrificed themselves one after another, indeed bringing Lux a certain advantage.

The best way to prevent Yang Yu’s companions from acting is to completely eliminate them.

“Since you wish to protect them as much as you can, I will kill them all.

As a solitary commander, you will become mere fish on my cutting board, dying completely in Despair.

This is the best punishment for you.”

Having formulated the plan, Lux immediately set it in motion.

Inheriting the full Devil King’s Power, the Magic and Skills Lux can use far exceed Yang Yu’s group.

Sufficient to be overwhelming.

Lux, after meticulously arranging a sophisticated plan, successively knocked down Tico, He Meng, and Gao Yuanyi among others.

Afterward, Lux successfully initiated the terrifying Magic set in the sky, annihilating the less mobile Iyas, and crashed Bai Jin.

Qiuye narrowly escaped the range of the terrifying Magic’s influence, but with Lux’s displacement, her arm was shattered and she was stomped into the ground.

Finally…

Only Yang Yu was left alone.

Lux turned to Yang Yu, who using a module, avoided the Demon King’s Instant Kill, sneering:

“Was it worth it?

Are you satisfied with all this!

If you weren’t here opposing me for that foolish goddess, you wouldn’t be in this situation now!

Take a good look at your surroundings!

One by one, those who believed in you sacrificed their precious lives for you.

No matter how extraordinary your skills are, what of it?

You no longer have the means to defeat me.

If you insist on sacrifice, it should be for something more valuable.

Even if you fail in the end, people would still sing your courage.

But now, you can only become forgotten insects, silently vanishing in the long river of history.”

Amid Lux’s taunting, Yang Yu began his final “performance.”

He had long prepared for the sacrifice of his companions.

Yang Yu used his companions’ deaths to set a grand trap.

His expressions of surprise and regret during companion deaths were entirely feigned.

Even in the deepest sadness, Yang Yu cannot reveal his true emotions on his face.

He needs to lead Lux step by step into the trap.

Under Lux’s feet lies the Magic Array Bai Jin left behind before her death, created with all her Wisdom.

That Magic Array, though appearing vanished with Bai Jin’s death, can be connected like a dried riverbed being filled with river water again, as long as Magic Power is injected following the traces she left, according to a sequence.

Yang Yu’s understanding of Magic is not profound.

In front of Lux, activating Magic himself would trigger Lux’s alert.

To execute this plan, Yang Yu needs a helper.

Yang Yu has only one helper left— the White Centipede residing in the Magic Wand “Sigh Seed.”

This is the helper Bai Jin fought for.

Once Yang Yu informed Bai Jin and them of Lux’s condition, Bai Jin immediately thought of whether that White Centipede could do the same and secretly contacted it.

After receiving a positive response, Bai Jin used her life to forge this final Magic Array.

The White Centipede initially refused Bai Jin and even advised her to abandon Yang Yu and the others, with her strength, she could retreat from the island and find a place to hide, but Bai Jin shook her head, refusing the White Centipede, and said some meaningful words.

The reason the White Centipede refused Bai Jin also had another reason.

The Magic Bai Jin constructed would gather up Lux’s Magical Power; high-intensity operation of Bai Jin’s Magic would also burden it, causing it potentially to enter a prolonged slumber within Bai Jin’s shell.

If Bai Jin’s shell deteriorates, or if the plan fails and is crushed into ashes by Lux, her consciousness will vanish along with Bai Jin’s body and be unable to return to the Magic Wand “Sigh Seed.”

Perhaps those words moved the White Centipede, and after proposing some conditions, it reached an agreement with Bai Jin.

Yang Yu holds some skepticism towards this helper.

But to break the deadlock, the White Centipede’s aid is indispensable; Yang Yu ultimately can only try to trust it.

The White Centipede abided by the agreement, at the right time, burrowed into Bai Jin’s body, taking over Bai Jin’s body, fully operating Bai Jin’s Magic.
