Chapter 997 - 438:

Shells like fiery blossoms of trees, are launched towards the surroundings with the Titan Giant Mechanism at the center!

After the Blood Demon Army launched a full assault, the government no longer conserved ammunition, various special shells were lavishly poured into the vicinity!

Incendiary shells, gas shells, dirty bombs... each type of ammunition is enhanced with extraordinary power, and as long as they explode, they are bound to inflict massive damage on the Blood Demons!

However, unfortunately, the situation drastically changed when High Tier Blood Demon soldiers entered the fray.

Before dirty bombs could land, they were intercepted by Blood Winged Demons in the air, then with a thought from the Blood Demon Wizard group, the dirty bombs were buried hundreds of meters underground. Even though the radiation could still destroy the ecology, it had little practical effect against the Blood Demon Army, where the weakest were at Warrior Tier.

Other ammunition suffered the same fate; either deviated or intercepted, the shells ignited a sea of flames or released vast amounts of poison gas, in the end, they killed many Low Tier Blood Demons, but the eight hundred Blood Sea Giants remained almost unscathed!

They strode forward, moving slowly yet relentlessly towards the Titan Giant Mechanism!

"Have they become bloated from absorbing excessive blood energy?"

Chu Xiu already realized, these eight hundred giants were not meant for combat; the excess blood energy made them extremely hard to kill, but it also almost discarded their combat abilities. They were like eight hundred freedom puppets stuffed with garbage, their purpose was to pour filth onto this land!

Even if Chu Xiu acted personally, he might not kill these eight hundred large Blood Sea Giants, not to mention there were seventeen more that were over ten thousand meters long!

"Even at this pace, they are King Tier, within at most a quarter-hour, they could flatten the Titan Giant Mechanism!"

"Boom!"

Meanwhile, as Chu Xiu thought silently, the foremost giants had already reached the tree walls, where the withered tree walls crumbled like burnt charcoal before the Blood Sea Giants, easily collapsing outwards with a touch.

The tree wall maze was quickly pushed down, even if the Titan Giant Mechanism roared incessantly during this time, it only slightly reduced the density of the Blood Demon Army, only the rail guns controlled by Zhou Yangyang possessed the power to kill Blood Sea Giants.

And as the outer layer of the tree wall maze was pushed down, Chu Xiu clearly felt his Civilization Domain was weakened, not only was the total amount of power he could mobilize reduced, but more importantly, the range was significantly compressed, losing control of the Tree Palace region altogether.

This meant the extreme distance for a surprise attack from the five lurking Demigod Blood Demons was directly shortened by over ten kilometers!

Fortunately, the government was not entirely unprepared, as the sequence of huge explosions sounded, mushroom clouds pierced the sky, the extreme heat and light devoured large amounts of Blood Demons!

These were the various mines pre-set between the inner tree walls and the Tree Palace region, including naturally some dirty bombs and even a full forty nuclear bombs!

The heat and light generated by nuclear explosions created terrifying fire tornadoes, instantly killing a large number of Blood Demons, with one Blood Demon Giant within five hundred meters of ground zero, having more than half of its body directly destroyed! It fell to the ground like an ice lolly melted by flame.

However, even after causing such mass destruction, the ensuing Blood Demon Army showed no sign of halting, with Blood Demon Wizards skillfully advancing, casting spells to sink dirty bombs into hundred-meter-deep ground, nuclear bombs killed dozens of Blood Sea Giants and disabled more than thirty, yet more Blood Sea Giants filled their place, stepping through the nuclear aftermath and continuing forward, soon bearing down on the inner tree walls.

"Da-da-da!!"

Unmanned autoguns spat fierce tongues of fire, these large-caliber armor-piercing bullets killed numerous Blood Demons, but could not stall the flood at all; with a thunderous crash, the hundred-meter-high tree walls were effortlessly flattened by the Blood Sea Giants.

As the Blood Demon Army approached, the circumference for assaults grew increasingly shorter, naturally elevating the density of the Blood Demon Army, which in turn somewhat boosted the killing power of the Titan Giant Mechanism.

Hence, the defense of the thirteen-layer inner tree walls was the government’s main focus!

Demon Puppets, Treant Spirits, and Elite Awakened distributed in various strongholds under the Civilization Domain’s blessing exploded with astonishing power altogether, effectively obstructing the enemy in tandem with various modern weapons and the Titan Giant Mechanism’s firepower.

Yet...

"We can’t hold it."

Chu Xiu sighed softly.

Even though the Blood Demon Army had only breached the eleventh tree wall, Chu Xiu already foresaw the end.

The numerical disparity between the sides was too vast, to a degree where tactics alone couldn’t compensate.

Nonetheless, Chu Xiu had anticipated such a situation.

Although the resources worth trillions of Huaxia Coin were abundant, ultimately they were merely Huaxia Coin; the things they could purchase couldn’t truly participate in a genuine High Tier battle.

And not to mention the multitude of powerful beings fighting on the frontline, even Awakened within the Titan Giant Mechanism gradually started to realize this, unrest began to stir again.

"Rustle."

At that moment, a light rain began to fall from the sky, when everyone looked up, they found the raindrops were actually blood-red!

Bathed in the blood rain, the Blood Demon Legion seemed akin to blood-sucking vampires that absorbed human blood, with their wounds starting to heal at an astonishing speed!

Now, morale grew even lower among the crowd; already at a disadvantage in strength, the enemy still had unrevealed means!

Even Zhang Zhengdao and other strong warriors furrowed their brows, those several hundred large "sandbags" posed no threat to them, but they found it exceedingly difficult to prevent these guys from approaching.
