Demon Cultivator in Abyssal Era
Chapter 1010: New Ability_2
Chapter 1010: Chapter 442: New Ability_2
In fact, Chu Xiu had already decided to drop the idea of escaping, because no matter how strong his gambling itch was, or how unwilling he felt, it couldn’t change the fact that an Immortal Weapon was currently locked onto his Star Core.
If the Star Core were shattered, his entire Dao path would be cut off. The price was too great—he couldn’t afford that bet!
Even if it looked like his side held all the advantages, Lilith and Wu weren’t idiots. Since they were doing this, they must have some confidence of success, very likely some method beyond his current understanding. Chu Xiu had just suffered a huge loss at Lilith’s hands; there was no way he’d repeat that mistake so soon.
So this time he sharply noticed the arrogance lurking in his subconscious, forcibly suppressed his emotions, and chose the path offered by rational analysis.
Sitting on such heaven-defying potential, yet not playing it safe to develop and instead rushing off to go all-in—that’s the kind of thing only idiots would do!
That little performance just now was merely him grabbing one last payout before leaving.
“Didn’t expect it to actually work. No idea what Ashtar promised them to make those two so intent on killing me.”
“This way, not only have I fully recouped my early investment, I’ve even made a decent profit.”
Chu Xiu couldn’t help but show a faint smile.
As for whether the people of that civilization lived or died—that was beyond his concern. Everyone has their own fate, and he was never the type to have spare sympathy lying around.
So when he noticed that someone inside the Titan Giant Mechanism couldn’t help but break away out of fear, he immediately rushed into High-dimensional Space, used Thought to latch onto the other’s Awakening Space, and tailed it all the way out just like before.
As the Frenzied spatial turbulence around him surged and washed past, Chu Xiu let out a long breath. He knew he was safe.
He summoned his Awakening Space to block the turbulence, then immediately checked his Dantian.
Fortunately, it was clear that no matter how strong an Immortal Equipment was, it didn’t possess the ability to chase across the Abyss. After entering Abyss Space, that blood-red dagger seemed to lose control; not only did it clatter down into his Dantian, even its form began to gradually disperse.
And that dissipating Energy was Devoured by the Star Core, transformed into Chu Xiu’s own Power.
This left Chu Xiu pleasantly surprised—he hadn’t expected the Star Core to be able to Devour even this.
He thought of the bizarre Abyss creature the Star Core had Devoured previously, and felt that this Energy Core formed by his own fortuitous encounter was growing ever more mysterious.
“Enough overthinking—better hurry up and find a spot to return, lest I run into some weird creature again like last time for no reason.”
Chu Xiu knew far too little about Abyss Space and didn’t dare guarantee he could rely on the Star Pill to turn danger into safety every time.
However, just as he was preparing to leave, he suddenly let out a soft “Huh,” as if he’d discovered something, a strange look appearing on his face.
“The Awakening Space… why does it seem a bit different?”
Previously, the Awakening Space was like an oval-shaped carriage, used to block spatial turbulence and send the Awakened to the location of the Anchor Point.
Now, the Awakening Space was still oval-shaped, but on the originally transparent inner wall of the space, a few symbols had somehow appeared.
These symbols emitted a faint fluorescent glow. Since there was no light at all in Abyss Space, this weak glow was especially obvious right now, and Chu Xiu noticed them the moment he was about to leave.
“What’s going on here…”
Why did an unexpected Transformation have to happen again!
Chu Xiu was a bit on edge, unsure whether this was good or bad. After hesitating for a moment, he still extended his Divine Sense to study them.
He felt it necessary to figure out what these things were. Traveling through Abyss Space was no small matter; if the Awakening Space underwent some Transformation he didn’t understand that affected its Foundation functions, it wouldn’t be strange at all if it suddenly lost control mid-transit and let the incoming spatial turbulence tear him to pieces!
There were four symbols in total. The last one was obvious—a rectangular bar like a battery indicator, which Chu Xiu guessed represented the Awakening Space’s “Energy.”
The teachers at school had already explained that Awakened needed to consume Energy to traverse space, and that unused Energy would automatically replenish, which was why there was a cooldown period.
Energy conservation is a Rule that holds everywhere in the Cosmos. Now that Chu Xiu was Dataless, he simply didn’t need to obey the Abyss’s Rules anymore; this particular aspect shouldn’t have changed.
As for the other three, they resembled some kind of complex pictographs. Chu Xiu couldn’t guess their meaning at all and could only use Divine Thought to analyze their structure.
He quickly discovered that these symbols seemed to be mere superficial “switches,” like shortcuts on a computer desktop, with extremely complex systems hidden behind them!
And that link went straight into the core of the Awakening Space, to the point that even Chu Xiu was currently unable to conduct Investigation.
“Switches, huh…”
Chu Xiu rubbed his chin, looking thoughtfully at them, and tentatively touched one of the symbols.
Something completely unexpected happened. The moment he touched the symbol, the space around him suddenly Twisted, and when it stabilized, he was shocked to find that he had returned to High-dimensional Space!
Chu Xiu seemed to grasp something, quickly reached out to touch the second symbol, and once again the space around him shifted as absolute darkness swallowed everything.
He was back in Abyss Space!
Chu Xiu was stunned for a moment, then a surge of wild joy flooded his chest!
He could actually rely on these symbols to freely shuttle between High-dimensional Space and Abyss Space!
This form of travel was entirely accomplished by his own Ability, which meant that as long as he had enough Energy, he wouldn’t be affected by the Abyss’s cooldown period.
At first glance, this Ability didn’t seem very useful, since it had always been easy for him to enter Abyss Space—he only needed to casually tail an Awakened.
But think about it carefully and you realize this Ability is extremely useful!
It meant he could make multiple round trips to this world in a short span of time!
For example, right now, he could completely play an information gap!
Everyone had personally watched him trigger “detachment,” and everyone knew that Abyss transmissions had a cooldown. Which meant no one would even imagine he could sneak back!
Lilith had suffered such humiliation and definitely wouldn’t let his civilization off. If Chu Xiu quietly returned at this moment, used the Civilization Domain to hide his presence, and while she wasn’t paying attention, unleashed his full strength on her…
Just thinking about it made Chu Xiu feel thrilled. With a strike blessed by the Civilization Domain, even if she didn’t die, he’d at least strip a layer of skin off her!
And if he got lucky and one-shot her with a single sword… then wouldn’t that Immortal Equipment and Ancient God Relic both become his!
Especially since the threat of the “Silent Judge” in his Star Core would also be eliminated—Chu Xiu now had far more confidence and even room to maneuver if he failed.
To take it a step further, even if provoking Lilith and Wu was too risky, sneaking around to butcher a few Blood Demons shouldn’t be a problem, right?
Chu Xiu could kill one Blood Demon, then take advantage of their delayed reaction to enter the Abyss and hide, and later find another opportunity to return and continue killing!
Even if the enemy was insanely alert and set up defenses after the first attack so he only managed to kill one, that alone would be enough to give his Blood Demon Incarnation a direct promotion to Demigod!
The more he thought about it, the more Chu Xiu felt this was hugely promising! After turning it over in his mind from all angles and finding no issues, he decisively touched the symbol and returned to High-dimensional Space!
Of course, before setting out, he also tried the last symbol.
The instant it dimmed, a massive amount of spatial turbulence suddenly appeared around the Awakening Space!
This spatial turbulence wasn’t chaotic like that in Abyss Space, but instead flowed rapidly along fixed trajectories around the Awakening Space, like planets orbiting a star. In this state, the Power of the spatial turbulence was far more concentrated—it was like…
Countless blades spinning at high speed.
An outrageous idea suddenly popped into Chu Xiu’s mind.
These Abilities… could they have been converted from that bizarre Abyss Space creature the Star Core Devoured?
The more Chu Xiu thought about it, the more plausible it seemed, especially since the Effect activated by the last symbol was almost identical to that creature’s direct attack method!
Besides, there didn’t seem to be any other explanation.
But that was just too fantastical—those terrifying creatures that survived in Abyss Space were “eaten” by him like this? And then turned into his own Energy?
“What the hell has my body turned into…”
Even though these Transformations all seemed beneficial so far, the unknown aspect still filled Chu Xiu with deep unease.
However, he also understood that the Transformation of his body definitely involved some extremely deep Secrets and knowledge. Probably only those ancient monsters who had lived for who knows how many years and understood the Abyss well enough could answer his questions.
Chu Xiu stopped dwelling on it. He restrained his aura, his figure blurred, and he rapidly slipped toward the direction of the civilization’s location.
It was the perfect time to give the enemy a huge surprise!
