Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 76: It’s Me
Chapter 76: Chapter 76: It’s Me
To buy them time, Zhu Xiu used his massive beast body to block the Wandering Beasts’ pursuit of Xin Feng and Bai Wanwan.
But there were simply too many Wandering Beasts, and the encirclement tightened relentlessly.
With Bai Wanwan on his back, Xin Feng couldn’t break through. He immediately spun around and charged in the opposite direction.
After several attempts, Xin Feng still couldn’t break the encirclement, hampered by the need to protect Bai Wanwan.
Yin Da led the Wandering Beasts, slowly closing in on Bai Wanwan.
"Bai Wanwan, come here."
This was not the same male Bai Wanwan had so easily fooled before. The expression on Yin Da’s face was sinister and vicious.
Bai Wanwan watched the twenty or thirty Wandering Beasts converge on them, and a chill washed over her.
After ripping a Wandering Beast’s head off with one bite, Zhu Xiu swiftly slithered in front of Xin Feng and Bai Wanwan.
His enormous head faced Yin Da. "She will not go with you."
"Zhu Xiu!"
Enraged, Yin Da swiped his claws through the air, sending an attack laced with sharp killing intent whistling toward them.
Zhu Xiu countered by raising his long tail and lashing out with it.
Bai Wanwan couldn’t see a thing. Buffeted by the shockwave from the collision of immense power, she squeezed her eyes shut in discomfort.
The fury on Yin Da’s face instantly twisted into shock. "You’ve been hiding your true strength?"
Zhu Xiu’s increase in power came from the Energy Stone, but he had no intention of telling Yin Da.
Yin Da took his silence as a confession. "Zhu Xiu, I was the one who took you in! I made you the second-in-command of Wandering Beast City! There, you could do anything you wanted. Why betray me? Was it all for her?"
Yin Da’s hand shot out, pointing at Bai Wanwan as his gaze swept over her.
He hated Zhu Xiu for his betrayal, but he hated Bai Wanwan even more for her deception.
How was she any different from those other females? No, she was even more despicable!
His former Wife had looked down on him, her disgust always plain on her face.
But Bai Wanwan had hidden it, using nothing but sweet words to wrap him around her finger.
Zhu Xiu’s betrayal, the destruction of Wandering Beast City... it was all because of her.
The last shred of softness in his heart, which she had created, was now utterly obliterated. All emotion vanished from his eyes, replaced by a ruthless, cold desire to destroy everything.
Zhu Xiu had long known this moment would come. He looked at Yin Da calmly. "This has nothing to do with her. I would have done this even if she had never appeared."
"Why? In Wandering Beast City, your word was as good as mine. I gave you all the authority you could want."
Yin Da ground his teeth viciously. ’So the male I valued most was planning to betray me all along!’
Zhu Xiu’s voice was cold. "I don’t need to explain what I want to you."
Yin Da was utterly enraged. ’It wouldn’t matter if Zhu Xiu begged for mercy now. I’m going to devour him, piece by piece!’
Yin Da let out a furious roar that sent the snow on the ground flying into the air.
"All males, hear my command! Capture the Holy Female alive! We’ll take her back and lock her up to breed cubs for all the Wandering Beasts! As for Zhu Xiu... tear him to shreds and devour him alive!"
ROAR!
All the Wandering Beasts threw their heads back and bellowed, surging forward in a frenzy of excitement.
Zhu Xiu warily shifted his massive body to shield Bai Wanwan. He glanced at Xin Feng. "Xin Feng, protect Wanwan. Take any chance you get to break through with her."
Xin Feng watched the charging Wandering Beasts and took a few steps back. "Right!"
Bai Wanwan’s expression was more serious than ever. She didn’t want to lose either of them.
’But with dozens of Wandering Beasts before them, how could they possibly fight?’
With Bai Wanwan on his back, Xin Feng warily eyed the nearby Wandering Beasts and retreated slowly.
"Xin Feng, put me down. You can’t fight properly while carrying me."
"No! It’s more dangerous if I put you down."
No longer caring about her remaining Points, Bai Wanwan quickly redeemed a dagger and a kitchen knife from her System Space.
The first wave of Wandering Beasts reached Zhu Xiu and launched their attack.
Bai Wanwan quickly tied the basket to her waist and slid off Xin Feng’s back.
"Wanwan!"
Xin Feng noticed and tried to scoop her up in his mouth, but three Wandering Beasts were already lunging at them from the side.
Xin Feng was forced to abandon the attempt. He shielded her behind him and snapped his jaws at the pouncing Wandering Beasts.
Bai Wanwan also raised her kitchen knife. Taking advantage of the Wandering Beast’s distraction, she hacked at its foreleg.
AARGH!
Blood poured from the wound, and the injured Wandering Beast scrambled back.
None of them had paid Bai Wanwan any mind, so they hadn’t bothered to defend against her even when she got close.
Her action put the other Wandering Beastmen on guard, which eased some of the pressure on Xin Feng.
Bai Wanwan clutched her kitchen knife, ready to fight to the death.
She cherished her life, but some fates were worse than death.
She had thoroughly offended Yin Da. If he captured her, a fate worse than death awaited.
She might as well stick with Zhu Xiu and Xin Feng. Her attacks might not be deadly, but as long as they wanted her alive, she could use that to create chaos.
Her strategy worked. By sticking close to Xin Feng and constantly distracting the Wandering Beasts, she not only kept him from being injured but also helped him kill several of their attackers.
On the other side, Zhu Xiu was a whirlwind of destruction. He wrapped his long tail around several Wandering Beasts, tightening his grip relentlessly.
Then his head lunged forward, sinking his fangs into another.
In the blink of an eye, Yin Da had already lost nearly ten of his underlings.
His beast form swelled in size. He threw his head back with a sky-shattering roar and charged straight for Zhu Xiu.
Bai Wanwan’s eyes darted back and forth, trying to keep track of the situation around both males.
When she saw this, her heart leaped into her throat. "Zhu Xiu, look out!" she screamed.
Zhu Xiu had been wary of Yin Da all along, and he sensed the attack the instant it began.
Her voice was fraught with tension and worry. Unable to turn and reassure her, he instead flung the Wandering Beast in his mouth straight at Yin Da.
He then unwrapped his tail and swept it forward, forcing the other nearby Wandering Beasts back so they couldn’t join Yin Da’s attack.
As the long tail swept toward him, Yin Da kicked off with all four limbs. His massive body leaped into the air, claws extended, aiming for Zhu Xiu’s vital point.
Seeing this, Xin Feng immediately unleashed his Talent Power to help Zhu Xiu. A gale erupted from the ground and slammed into Yin Da.
The blast forced Yin Da’s body off-kilter, causing him to miss his optimal point of attack.
"Go capture the Holy Female!"
With that command, Yin Da launched a ferocious assault on Zhu Xiu, preventing him from aiding Xin Feng and Bai Wanwan.
In an instant, the tables turned. With Yin Da keeping Zhu Xiu occupied, a dozen or so Wandering Beasts swarmed Xin Feng.
Bai Wanwan gripped a knife in each hand and gritted her teeth. ’The system said I was dead in my original world anyway. All of this has been borrowed time.’
’These two males have been so good to me. Sharing life and death with them... it’s worth it.’
There were simply too many Wandering Beasts. Even with Bai Wanwan constantly creating diversions, Xin Feng was overwhelmed, having to both protect her and fight them off.
Soon, he was bitten on both a foreleg and a hind leg.
Blood stained his fur red. Bai Wanwan’s heart ached at the sight. Her attacks grew more ferocious as she frantically slashed at any Wandering Beast that tried to get near Xin Feng.
Suddenly, a blur of motion shot past, slamming into the six or seven Wandering Beasts in front of Xin Feng and sending them flying. It then casually snapped its jaws, killing two more.
Before any of the other Beastmen could react, the newcomer darted toward Bai Wanwan, snatched her off the ground in its mouth, and spun around to flee.
Bai Wanwan raised her knife to strike, but a familiar voice sounded in her ear, "It’s me."
