Delicate Villainess, Desperate Males – A Beast World Reverse Harem
Chapter 636 - 633: Crucial Moment
Chapter 636: Chapter 633: Crucial Moment
However, their efforts were clearly in vain.
A beastman stumbled out from the house, his voice choked with tears. "The Clan Leader is fading... The Clan Witch said to... to get ready..."
The words struck every Elephant Clan beastman like a sledgehammer to the chest.
The beastmen lowered their heads in sorrow. The strong males’ eyes turned red, and the females began to weep softly. A suffocating grief filled the air both inside and outside the stone house.
Bai Wanwan, Chou Rong, and the other Foreign Beastmen were firmly stopped outside the stone house.
An Elephant Clan guard captain fought back his grief, his voice hoarse. "Apologies, Chief Chou Rong. Our tribe has an urgent matter to attend to. The Clan Leader... he... Please, return to your lodgings and rest. If you need anything, you can ask another beastman to see to it."
His arm, stretched out before them, was like an insurmountable wall.
’I have to speak now,’ Bai Wanwan thought.
"Let us in. I can save your Clan Leader."
He clearly didn’t believe her. "And how would you do that?"
’He felt awful, too. The Clan Leader cared for every single one of them like a Father Beast.’
’But even our Clan Witch couldn’t heal him. What could this female possibly do?’
Bai Wanwan pressed on. "If I can’t save him, you can tie me up..."
"Wanwan..." Chou Rong began, trying to stop her.
Jin Yi and Yin Ze also clearly disapproved, frowning as they stared at her.
But even with that offer, given the circumstances, the guard wasn’t about to relent easily.
Just then, Jinying appeared in her line of sight.
Bai Wanwan was overjoyed, immediately raising a hand to wave at him. "Jinying!"
’I need Jinying’s help,’ she thought. ’And this isn’t just to help me, but to help his own Clan Leader, too.’
Jinying had come looking for Bai Wanwan, and he could spot her in a crowd with a single glance.
So, when she waved, he strode directly toward them.
"What’s wrong?" Jinying’s gentle gaze shifted from Bai Wanwan to Chou Rong, a profound look in his eyes. "Chief Chou Rong, do you need some help?"
Chou Rong narrowed his eyes, not answering him immediately.
But Bai Wanwan couldn’t hold back any longer. "Jinying, we need your help. I’m confident I can save your Clan Leader, so helping me is the same as helping yourselves."
’I decided long ago,’ Fu Jinsen thought. ’Since Wanwan wants to see the Elephant Clan Leader, even if it’s abrupt and causes a lot of trouble, I’ll clear the way for her.’
’But I’m not sure if she can actually cure the Clan Leader.’
’If she can’t, she’ll likely bring a mountain of trouble upon herself.’
’My Wanwan doesn’t know how to heal.’
"Are you... truly certain?" he asked, reminding her, "This isn’t a game. If you fail, you’ll be in a lot of trouble."
"Yes," Bai Wanwan said, understanding his concern. Her gaze was unflinching. "I’m certain."
Her eyes held a certainty that left no room for doubt.
Fu Jinsen feigned "hesitation" for a moment, his eyes sweeping over the doubtful faces of the surrounding Elephant Clan guards. At last, as if having made up his mind, he said, "Alright... I believe you. Come with me."
He turned sideways, clearing a path for Bai Wanwan.
But the guards at his side blocked the way. "Jinying, we can’t just let Foreign Beastmen inside..."
Fu Jinsen’s gaze swept over them, full of his usual authority. "I will take full responsibility for any consequences."
’Jinying looks especially handsome right now,’ Bai Wanwan suddenly thought. ’I’ll remember this kindness. Jinying will become one of the very few friends I can trust in this Beast World.’
With Jinying leading the way and vouching for them, the crowd of beastmen parted, creating a path. Though many still watched with suspicion, no one else stepped forward to stop them.
And so, they entered the stone house unimpeded, where the atmosphere was even more somber.
The Clan Leader’s Wife, her other male partners, and their children were all crowded around the stone bed, their faces etched with grief.
Tears streamed silently down their faces as they stared at the male on the bed, whose complexion was ashen and his breathing faint.
"Jinying, you’re here..." Yun Duo, her eyes red and swollen, spotted Jinying and stumbled forward as if she’d found her pillar of support. "My Father Beast... he’s... he’s almost gone..."
She choked on her sobs, subconsciously trying to get closer to Jinying for comfort.
But Fu Jinsen took an almost imperceptible step back, deftly creating distance. With a flicker of what looked like guilt, he glanced in Bai Wanwan’s direction.
’Even if I’m only Jinying in her eyes, I don’t want Wanwan to see me getting close to this female.’
However, Bai Wanwan didn’t notice his subtle movement. Her full attention was fixed on the Elephant Clan Leader, who was in critical condition.
An older, dignified female lifted her tear-filled eyes to Jinying and said through her sobs, "Jinying, your bonding ceremony with Yun Duo... it will have to be moved up."
They were preparing for the worst.
Fu Jinsen spoke at once. "There’s no need to move it up. The most important thing right now is to heal the Clan Leader."
"But, you can see..." The female turned to look at her beloved Beast Husband again, unable to finish her sentence as she choked up and began to cry once more.
Fu Jinsen didn’t forget his promise to Wanwan. "Please, don’t worry yet. The Clan Leader will get better! This is the Holy Female from the Tiger Clan, Bai Wanwan. She has a way to save him."
In an instant, every eye in the room turned to Bai Wanwan, sharp as a spotlight.
The female before them was stunningly beautiful, with skin so fair it seemed to glow. But she was just a delicate young female, someone who looked like she needed to be protected.
For a Super Tribe like their Elephant Clan, even their experienced Clan Witch had declared it hopeless. How could she—a young, foreign female—succeed where their own Clan Witch had failed?
Disbelief was written on every beastman’s face.
Fu Jinsen didn’t give them a chance to object, speaking directly to Bai Wanwan. "Holy Female Bai Wanwan, please examine the Clan Leader. We’re counting on you."
Bai Wanwan let out a breath. ’With Jinying here, things are much simpler. I don’t even need the speech I prepared.’
"Alright."
After agreeing, Bai Wanwan endured the many stares as she slowly walked toward the Elephant Clan Leader on the stone bed.
She put on a show, lifting the Clan Leader’s eyelids and feeling for the pulse in his neck, going through a whole series of "diagnostic" motions that no one else could understand.
Then, from her satchel, she retrieved a small, unassuming porcelain vial she had prepared earlier.
Just as she uncorked the vial and prepared to pour the Potion into the Clan Leader’s mouth,
"Stop!"
A harsh shout rang out!
The Clan Witch approached, and a hand covered in wrinkles and herbal stains shot out, grabbing her wrist in a vice-like grip.
The force of the grip made Bai Wanwan’s brow furrow slightly.
The next moment, Chou Rong and Jin Yi were at the Clan Witch’s side. They pinned her shoulders from both left and right, forcing her to release her grip on Bai Wanwan’s hand.
Meanwhile, Yin Ze swiftly pulled Bai Wanwan behind him.
It all happened in the blink of an eye.
