Chapter 614: Chapter 611: Sense of Security

(I was dizzy when I finished writing last night, so I’ve made a correction. Wanwan laid Zhu Xiu’s eggs, four of them.)

With Jiao Yuan’s attention completely captivated by the newborn snake cubs, Bai Wanwan gave a sly, mischievous wink to the Beast Husbands gathered around her bed.

Taking her cue, the Beast Husbands exchanged knowing glances. They immediately moved forward in silent accord, encircling the stone bed she lay on and forming an intimate barrier from the outside world.

Jiao Yuan, who had been lost in a moment of pure joy, suddenly found his view obstructed by a wall of tall, imposing backs. He was not pleased.

Cradling the small snake eggs, he tried to push his way in. "Hey, what do you think you’re doing? Wanwan just finished laying. She’s exhausted and needs to rest quietly. Let her get some sleep..."

Seeing this, Bai Wanwan had no choice but to speak up. "Father Beast, please take the little ones outside for a while. I have something important to discuss with my husbands."

Jiao Yuan’s brow furrowed instantly. He gave her a disapproving look, his tone filled with the earnest worry of an old father. "Wanwan, you just finished laying. Your body is weak and recovering. Whatever it is, can’t it wait until you’ve rested? Be good now. Just close your eyes and get some sleep."

He was deeply worried about the young female’s health. He didn’t want her to end up like her own dear mother, who had been sickly for so many years.

Bai Wanwan gently shook her head and insisted, "This is very important. I’ll rest as soon as I’ve said my piece. It will be quick."

Seeing the persistence on the young female’s pale face, Jiao Yuan knew he couldn’t win. He finally relented, his tone a mixture of resignation and indulgence. "Well... all right, then. But be quick. Don’t keep Wanwan from her rest."

He carefully cradled the newborn snake eggs and left the room, glancing back with every other step. He even thoughtfully closed the door.

He didn’t go far, though. He stood guard right outside the door to make sure those males didn’t get carried away and tire Wanwan out.

The moment the door closed, a smile—weary but utterly joyful—spread across Bai Wanwan’s face.

She looked to her Beast Husbands and announced in a hushed tone, "I laid four eggs this time! The three male cubs all have Red Rank Talent, and the female cub is a Holy Female!"

It might not have been a large clutch, but the quality was astounding!

The male cubs and the single female all possessed the highest tier of Talent and fertility.

The System had generously rewarded her with 400,000 Points. Combined with what she had already saved, she could now exchange them for three precious Red Rank Potions!

Bai Wanwan never planned on hoarding Points. In her opinion, the only way to best guarantee the safety of herself, her cubs, and the entire tribe was to convert these resources into tangible combat strength as quickly as possible.

Without a moment’s hesitation, with a single thought, she retrieved three Potions from her System Space. They swirled with a crimson light, pulsing with contained energy, and she placed them gently on the soft bedding.

"Three Potions," she said softly, her eyes shining. "Enough to allow three males to Promote to Red Rank."

Even though her Beast Husbands had long known she was extraordinary, their hearts still jolted every time they saw her so effortlessly produce the Red Rank Potions—items that could alter a tribe’s destiny and for which countless males would go mad.

If this kept up, it seemed the unattainable legend of the Red Rank was something she might actually be able to shatter, piece by piece.

For them, this was an incredible blessing.

The more Red Rank Powerhouses the tribe had, the safer Wanwan and the cubs would be, and the more secure the foundations of the Tiger Clan would become.

Bai Wanwan picked up one of the Potions and offered it to Jin Yi. "Jin Yi, I want you and Yin Ze to travel to the Golden Lion Tribe. Give these two Potions to Jin Cang Clan Leader and let him decide how they should be used."

She smiled at the stunned Jin Yi. "This way, the Golden Lion Tribe will have two Red Rank masters holding the fort. You’ll have less to worry about and can stay with the Tiger Clan with peace of mind."

Jin Yi stared at the swirling crimson Potion, his gaze trembling violently.

He had, in fact, been constantly worried about his own tribe. With the world in chaos, he feared that the Golden Lion Tribe, which relied solely on his Father Beast for support, would be plunged into crisis.

If the tribe could gain two more Red Rank Powerhouses... their security would increase dramatically!

He gave Bai Wanwan a profound look, his Adam’s apple bobbing. A thousand unspoken words were distilled into one heavy phrase: "Wanwan... thank you."

It was a phrase that carried far more weight than simple gratitude.

Bai Wanwan smiled at him warmly, her tone sincere. "What is there to thank me for? Jin Cang Clan Leader is your Father Beast, and the Golden Lion Tribe is the place you were born and raised. It’s only natural that I would want them to be safe and sound."

Once she was done speaking with Jin Yi, Bai Wanwan picked up the last Potion and handed it to Yan Lie beside her. "Yan Lie, this one is for your older brother, Yan Chi."

The Leopard Clan was currently residing with the Tiger Clan. If Yan Chi could Promote to Red Rank, it would not only be a great fortune for the Leopard Clan but also add a powerful force to the Tiger Clan alliance.

’Including my unfathomably powerful Father Beast, Jiao Yuan... the entire tribal alliance now has nearly ten Red Rank Powerhouses!’

’What’s more, I even have several half-grown cubs who are also Red Rank Powerhouses. They can help take some pressure off their fathers, too.’

’This kind of power would be considered top-tier on this turbulent continent, enough to intimidate anyone.’

With all these matters settled, Bai Wanwan felt a weight lift from her shoulders. A powerful wave of exhaustion immediately washed over her, and her eyelids began to feel heavy.

The ever-observant Xin Feng was the first to notice her weariness. He stepped forward and said softly, "We’ll remember everything you’ve tasked us with and get it done immediately. You can rest easy now. Don’t think about another thing."

"Okay... I’ll sleep for a bit," Bai Wanwan’s voice was already heavy with sleep. The instant Hua Han helped ease her back down, her breathing became even and deep, and she plunged into a heavy slumber.

Seeing she was sound asleep, Jin Yi immediately turned to Zhu Xiu. "Yin Ze and I will set out at once. We’ll hurry to the Golden Lion Tribe and be back as soon as we can. I’ll leave Wanwan and the cubs in your care."

Zhu Xiu gave a slight nod. "Mm."

Xin Feng also whispered to Hua Han, who was keeping vigil by the bed, "Hua Han, you stay and watch over Wanwan. I’m going to make some fish soup. She’ll need to regain her strength when she wakes."

The Beast Husbands quickly and silently divided up the tasks and set to work.

The room soon grew quiet, the only sound being the steady rhythm of Bai Wanwan’s breathing.

Hua Han sat by the bedside, not moving from his spot.

He gazed at the female’s peaceful, sleeping face. With the utmost care, his fingertips gently smoothed the slight furrow between her brows.

He murmured, almost in a whisper, "Wanwan... the next litter... isn’t it... isn’t it my turn to have a brood of our own cubs?"

It would be a lie to say he didn’t feel a single shred of jealousy.

All of Wanwan’s other Beast Husbands, even Jiao Yin, now had cubs that shared her blood. Some were even on their second or third litters.

He was the only one without a single cub to his name.

Bai Wanwan, at that moment, was completely unaware of Hua Han’s simmering resentment. She was sinking deep into a bizarre, kaleidoscopic dream.

One second, she could almost smell the grass, trees, and hearth smoke of the tribe. The next, the world around her warped and shifted...
